Navíos was nothing short of amazing!…read more My big baby and I went on our first (of many) vacation to Cancun. While there we picked three nice restaurants to try and Navíos was one of them. Ambiance is gorgeous. On the bay, this gorgeous restaurant is sexy and giving out door classy if that makes sense. Customer service was outstanding and the servers were super friendly. My big baby doesn't speak a lick of Spanish and they spoke English which was great. For all you non Spanish speaking people, have no fear they speak English too. Loved the Alligator sign as it did make the visit exciting, I really wanted to see one come near us but no luck as those visitors are night time party animals. Let's get into it! We are in Mexico where chips and salsa are complimentary! They were so good and the salsas were delicious. Who needs a real app when you have these! Shrimp Alfredo - It was good! Fish of the day - (native to the waters from there) He loved it! Dessert- We passed! Being on the bay there are tons of mosquitoes. We had to make a fast break to our hotel. Although the food was good we would likely never choose a restaurant with outdoor seating as this proved to be a bit of a challenge. They did have off which helped. The only thing I like biting me while on a lovely vacay is my lover! No bueno to the mosquitoes. Side note: No stars off! The place is gorgeous and food was great!

There is parking right by it, but it only can hold 10 cars maybe? We lucked out and found a spot. VERY IMPORTANT, they only accept cash so make sure you have cash. They take pesos and dollars. You walk down stairs to enter the restaurant and it is very inviting and over looks the water. Apparently you can frequently see crocodiles in the water. We were not so lucky. At the advice of our friend and the waiter we got several of the Pescadillas (fried fish tacos). The waiter explained that the fish was actually shark. The tacos are 28 pesos each, we each got 3. And they were delicious, we also ordered the Shrimp with garlic mojo. The shrimp was sooo good, as is in the name, it is very garlicky but very good. Just bring some gum. Taking into consideration the ambiance, food, and cost. This was one of the best restaurants we have visited during our stay. We'll be back.

At this point, you all must have read the amazing experience people have written about in the other reviews. This is just supporting those experiences with a similar one of my own! UNBELIEVABLE is what I want to shout out loud from the page and I hope I am able to do that (cue fireworks and bottles popping) in the next few sentences as I expound on the virtues of this oh-so amazing restaurant! A slice of heaven on Earth, easily! The standout dish for me was the ceviche! Perfect blend of citrus and creamy with no fishy smell or aftertaste! The bread pudding is TO DIE FOR! Decadent and sinfully satisfying that you want to have a cigarette after with your coffee, and I don't even smoke! You have the option to sit outside or inside which both are excellent options. To the right is the open kitchen and in front sits the fresh Italian meat and the most impressive is the leg of prosciutto (unfortunately did not have it on this trip). The waiters were attentive and gave wonderful recommendations. The insalata d'uva was pairs perfectly with the Gorgonzola dressing and balsamic reduction. Even better was the insalata d'asparagi which may have been one of best asparagus dishes I have had. The first thought of oranges with asparagus may be odd but just trust the chef and jump in. The Quattro formaggi may not sound that like a home run from the menu but with the copa and the smoked provolone the flavor is lifted to a place where you are wishing for a couple more bites as the dish comes to an end. The pavlova was just the right amount of sweet to end the night. Overall a very welcoming and well thought out experience and I would recommend if you have the time to stop by. Our waiter, Juan was outstanding. I mean, service is fantastic at the entire property, but Juan made our experience comfortable and enjoyable. The lobster ravioli was not presented in the old fashion style, but a wonderfully designed pasta dish that was too lovely to eat. My dinner guest had the ceviche appetizer and pesca pomodoro salad appetizer. We loved our meal and experience. Again thank you Juan for being our server!
