At first I wanted to ding this place one star because of the shower in the ADA handicapped room. But decided most people would not share the issue with me. (:-) I find this to be a bit pricy at almost $119 with tax. But mostly it's great, except the aerator on the sink in room 107 kept popping off. I explained to the desk manager that I think the washer is just too thick. He assured me he would have maintenance fix it. But it's a noticeably inexpensive faucet so we will see. The room was nice and the AC was GREAT on a triple digit day which is far more important than a faucet. So I really can't ding a star. Although the other issue is that there is NO CLOSET to hang clothes on in this handicapped room. NOT even a row of hooks. Again I'm resisting the urge to ding one star. RESISTING RESISTING. But my main complaint is simply that in a nice ADA shower with a great folding bench, there really SHOULD BE a hand held shower. Having only an overhead shower is NOT ADA friendly. I'm guessing regular rooms have closets to hang. It's too bad this business has not been "claimed" by the owner yet so our comments are probably not being read? Should I ding a star for THAT? I feel I'm being overly critical of this hotel because I haven't stayed anywhere else in Needles. But I did just stay at the Best Western Plus SPECIFICALLY called "A Wayfarer's Inn & Suites" in Kingman for about $1 more. There are 2 Best Westerns visible from each other. I believe I'm still so in love with that place that I'm definitely being more critical than usual of Rio Del Sol. That is something to consider when reading reviews. Some days little insignificant things make us more cranky than other days. Martin at the front desk was great so I'm going to stick with 5 stars because I can't choose 4.75. It's a very simple and basic kind of place . However everything was well stocked and clean. There's no complimentary coffee/water in the rooms but they will provide it at the front desk. I'd skip the ice from the ice machine because when the cubes melted, the water tasted weird. The hotel clerk was friendly and helpful. It's a good value for the money. read more

Only two handicap rooms with roll in showers and a fold down bench seat so you don't get the wheel chair wet . Quiet too . First of all don't let it's unassuming appearance (and the fact that it's in the middle of nowhere) fool you. It's been hands down THE best hotel accommodation we have been in this entire trip (our last being a Marriott that couldn't even hope to hold a candle to this inn!) To begin with, upon check in the hotel staff (an absolutely wonderful gentleman named Martin, who was a font of information - and sooo nice!) were fantastic ! It was 104* out but when we entered our room it was already so nice and cool. The room was clean and well stocked with a decent fridge, microwave, coffee supplies etc The shower amenities were in a dispenser on the wall of the shower so instead of being limited to a small bottle I could use whatever I needed. Same with the hand soap dispenser on the wall by the sink. The room was quiet despite the numerous big rig trucks parked in the hotel lot and we slept like logs. There was an outside pool but we were too tired to use it (and really it was much too hot to even be outside). All in all I would choose this hotel over the Albuquerque Marriott Pyramid North from the night before hands down, no contest. read more

This is a quaint motel. We booked not knowing the area and going completely off of reviews. I'm very glad we booked! You could easily pass this motel if you weren't looking for it! They have a pool here. When we checked in the guy in the office was great! He was very helpful and personable! The room was clean and smelled great! The bathrooms have shampoo/body wash/ conditioner/ lotion dispensers which we liked instead of small bottles. The beds were comfortable. The fridge kept our drinks cold. DO NOT COME HERE! We read reviews online that said it was a nice clean room. So we thought it was worth a shot. The minute we get here there are issues. The person at the front desk claims we have a reservation but yet she can't charge us? Then gives us another room and accuses us of trying to avoid the pet fee. Once we get to our room it's over 100° in the room and the AC barely works. We can't stay here longer than an hour bc our dog might pass out. Not to mention the floors, furniture, and walls are DISGUSTING. All around horrible experience just within the first hour of being here. read more

Do not stay here! They must have fake reviews. No customer service. Actually aggressive customer service. I have never been treated so poorly. We checked in, I laid on the bed and immediately got a back ache because it is so hard. TV did not work. We had to turn it on full brightness and turn off all the lights to see it. With that said they still would not give a refund per their policy. Once you pay no matter the quality of the room you are stuck! We left and drove to Barstow. read more

On a road trip from CA to FL. The Rio Del Sol Inn was our first stop from the Bay Area. The check in was super smooth and the guy at the front desk was nice. The room was definitely fine for just passing through, dated but what you expect if you booked the place. I was slightly disappointed to find out that all of the soap dispensers were empty in our room expect for the conditioner? (I think) I just remember that there was only one with soap in it, which was a bummer. You could definitely tell that it was mainly people and families passing through, which was kind of cool. The front desk girls were super friendly, and ready to get our rooms assigned. The rooms were clean, however dated. At 110°, a refreshing dip in the pool sounded amazing. Unfortunately, the pool was very cloudy and had considerable amount of floating debris, and did not look clean enough for a swim. The pool filters were not turned on as the recirculation jets were not working. A very nice separate indoor hot tub room is also provided, however the Jets in the hot tub don't work. Understandably out of the managements control, was a large number of construction workers getting up at 5:30 AM and starting their loud Diesel engines near the rooms for a very early rude awakening. Uncomfortable, but not the fault of the hotel. I did not get up early enough to try the provided breakfast. I would only stay here again during the hot summer months if I knew the pool filter system was working properly. read more

We stopped here last night on our trip to Arizona. Prices are fair, and the gentleman at the desk was really helpful and friendly. We got our room and it even came with a breakfast voucher to the Giggling Cactus. To me a clean room, ample parking and breakfast, you can't go wrong. We arrived after an epic morning at the Canyon de Chelly, and a long drive from Chile, AZ to Needles, CA. It was still 108F at 9pm! So I was grateful that the AC worked and was cold. They even pre-cooled our room! Room was clean, smelled fresh, and beds are comfortable! Parking was adequate. Bathroom and Sink had soap, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers. The shower had plenty of water pressure and had refreshingly cool water in addition to hot. The bath towel had an odd detergent scent to it, but was clean. After driving for 5 hours my boyfriend and I decided to stay here for a night and we were not disappointed. Staff is friendly, rooms are clean, no carpet (which is a plus for me), and pretty quiet. It would be five stars except for the price of $106. Got here at 1000pm and we asked for two queens plus a dog. We were told it would be $115 including the dog and tax. We said that was too much and they took off the discounted breakfast at Juicys for a total of 106. I still think that's too high for needles, but I got the best sleep out of the whole road trip so I think it was worth it. Only $15 for the dog. They have a desert lot behind the hotel where trucks park at night. I found it was a good place to walk the dog, no grass just sand/dirt. The room was clean quiet, with comfortable beds. The air conditioning worked well. It was a great place to catch up on sleep. It was pretty crowded, lots of Harley riders on a Monday night in may. I would recommend this hotel if you are in need of some good rest before hitting the road again. read more

I booked it online , i decided to change my plans and ask if I can stay one night here so I can get a place closer place to the tournaments the next day since Her tournament was 7am ... the lady on Thursday morning 11/12 she said sorry no refunds and I thanked her for looking politely and she just hung up in my face.... Omgg what kind of place is this?? :( So we arrived late Friday luckily Martin working the front desk was very nice and accommodating.... the place is clean, no carpets , furniture is kinda worn but it didnt smell and it's clean... not much around ... water took a while to warm up.... if you need a clean place to stay this is a place for you , we usually stay at a Marriott or Hilton or something similar so we are used to kindness and very thankful Martin was kind .... so didn't feel so bad. read more

Stayed in this motel for three days. ASK the front desk people not to go in the room also as the house keeping supervisor and numerous house keepers not to enter. Asked them only enter when we are there. We came back one of the house keepers entered. When I complained to management about this they asked if I had put the sign up that reads " Do not disturb". I said if some was going to enter there going to enter. In my 74 Years no hotel has ever asked did you put some card on door. Recently, on a trip through Needles, I stayed at the Rio Del Sol. It's a basic place--clean, with everything you need--t.v., little coffeemaker, shower, etc. It's nothing fancy, but everything works well, including the A.C. which was appreciated, even at the end of October! When we arrived around midnight, it was still 80 degrees. What really stood out to me was the friendliness of the staff. I recently drove from Northern CA to Santa Fe and needed to stop for the night in Needles. On the way there we stayed at this hotel and on the way back at the Best Western. If you need to stop in Needles, I do recommend paying a little more for the Best Western. The Rio del Sol is conveniently located right off the highway. We arrived very late, around 1:30. Check in was painless. The room was very basic. They did try to add some little touches to make it more hospitable, such as a little note to enjoy our stay. The beds were pretty uncomfortable though, and even though I arrived late and tired, I hardly slept. I could hear every little noise from our neighbors, both above and next door. Everything was a little run down, but they did take out the carpet so at least the floor was nice. The bathtub didn't drain properly, so I stood in ankle deep water while I showered. But the room did have a fridge and microwave which was useful to keep my daughters milk cold overnight. And for one night, it was all right. But as I said, the best western was a big improvement for us on our way home, so next time I'm in Needles (which is probably never) I'll stay there instead. read more

I was on a writing assignment for the Needles Business Community. I had the good fortune to stay there for two days and was so pleased with my accommodations. The staff was terrific and I loved the fact that there was a discount for Hotel patrons at the Wagon Wheel Restaurant for breakfast, which was excellent and VERY filling. Had this place been $45 a night I could understand but for the $70 I paid... I think not. The paint in the bathtub was cracking. Floors were less than clean. Ceilings were stained with I dont know what. We didnt check in until 12pm and were to tired to brave the store to find somewhere else to stay. But I was shocked at the state of the room for the price I paid. I should have found myself a motel 6 instead which usually is around 60-70. Service was friendly especially since I was in a group of 9 dripping wet motorcyclists rolling in at 12AM. The host was here on training from Russia and handled my group of 9 ease and humor. Beds I guess were comfortable but not sure how much I really trusted the cleanliness after seeing the bathroom. Would I be back straight answer is no. Not for the price.
