Orange blood beer and a piña colada
    Courtney M.

After boating or riding seadoos all day coming up to Pirates Cove for lunch or dinner is so refreshing. They just recently switched their menu as of a month ago, the food has definitely gotten better. It's actually a restaurant now not just bar food. The service was great as soon as you sit down you get ice cold water and they keep it coming. Which is so nice in 110° heat. Their mixed drink and bucket drinks are pretty good, their burgers weren't too bad. The fries were good. It's nice to be able just to pull up and walk right into the restaurant and enjoy an awesome view of the boats and people passing by. Recommend it if you're in Havasu.

My $16 10oz mudslide that wasn't worth it

Man has this place gone downhill! I took a picture of my mudslide, I have very small hands, and look how small the cup is. How much do you think it was? Let me just tell you it wasn't worth the $16 we paid! No joke! The restaurant itself it's still island vibey but the staff acts like your a pebble in their shoe and don't care about helping the customer even when it's nearly empty on a Monday afternoon. The only reason to go here is for the beach, you can park and take a break. Other than that? Pass! Go to Topock66, the food and staff are way better!

    Small beach next to campsite

We went to this resort to camp. Reservations have to be made 1 year prior. It's a beautiful place for toy hauler camping with full hook. There's a small beach on either side of the campsites for the kids to ride smaller atvs or play in the water. The restaurant at the resort is fair. For a quick snack it's ok. Would definitely stay to camp again but probably only have a beer at the restaurant.

It's a beautiful place, with an awesome cabin rental. Food was delicious. Little pricey. But hey we we're on vacation. Staff was kind and courteous. Security was they're to make sure everyone is falling the rules and having fun. Except one security guard at the check in booth. Think his name was James. Nice but creepy. Asked too many uncomfortable questions. Said we could get a free 2 night stay if we gave him a good review.

Yes. That's dog crap by our table.

Last stop on a 30 day road trip. They call this place a resort... in my opinion it should be your last resort to camp at. It's an overpriced dump. The "campsite" is weed filled plot of dirt that has no definition to where individual campsites begin or end. I had to read through 3 pages of rules and regulations before they gave me a map to our campsite. Along with copies of our insurance, registration and drivers license. During this entire trip I never had to present any of these documents. Frankly my wife and I were looking forward to staying here. As the photos online show a very nice campground. I wanted to stay there. That is definitely not this place. They also have an on-site restaurant that has small margaritas in a plastic cup for $18. I got a burnt burger for $22 that was smothered in BBQ sauce to hide the taste of the burnt meat. On top of it all this was the second most expensive campground of the entire trip. I am so glad that we decided to stay an extra night in Flagstaff and not come here yesterday. Here are a few photos of the Resort. Complete with dog crap on our site and few examples of the wonderful maintenance job being done on the electrical pedestals. Do not stop here. You have been warned.

Damaged floor before we came in

MAKE YOUR SELF A BIG FAVOR AND DO NOT GO THERE! LOST 500$ AND THEIR COSTUMER SERVICE IS 0 STARS! We stayed over for 3 nights over the 4th of july week. Almost two weeks later and my security deposit have never came in. I called and they tell me the floor is damaged and i had dog hair in the cabin! First of all we had no dog with us. But their "house keeper" saying she found dog hair some how. Soon as i came in the cabin right after check in i made a video showing all the damaged flooring prior to our arrival. ( pictures attached from the video i took) They probably made thousands of dollar jus to charge people on this shitty flooring they have there and its been damage for a long time and this way you saying bye bye to your security deposit. This review wont do anything. But i sure people will find them selves going else where because this place DOES NOT WORTH IT! Waste if time & money

What is the site in the Penninsula 6B like?

Can we use tents along with a motorhome?

Depends. If you are staying on a peninsula site, yes. Each (peninsula)site is allowed a two man pup tent to be down on the beach area. The inland(non-waterfront) sites are not able to have tents.

How is the WiFi Connection there if you had to work from a computer on the internet or have a Web-based Meeting?

They have recently updated the WIFI towers & also placed extenders out on the peninsula sites. However, WIFI is never guaranteed & the resort is located in a very rural area. WIFI services usually work best closer to the bar & restaurant.

Which peninsulas have the better beaches?

Depends on personal preferences to defy "better." The largest beach is between peninsula 5 & 6. Peninsula 25 has its own private beach. Most of the peninsula sites share beaches & are first come first serve.

How much is it rent a fire pit?

You would need to inquire at the general store. I believe it is $25/day plus tax. And there is a security deposit. The store also sells firewood.

    How's the cell coverage?

It depend who your carrier is! I have Verizon and I will get coverage here. I've heard you will as well with AT&T but not so much with sprint. By the way, Pirate Cover Resort does have free WiFi you can connect to at the restaurant

Do they allow tent camping here?

    YES, ON THE POINT

Are you allowed to have a dog in the cabins?

Are the campsites really close together? It will be just my husband an I and on the website it looks like people are camped right on top of each other. We like a little space.

Campsites near the river are close and there were no trees where we were so no privacy. Others are arranged in group sites with many together. You can see the site map at https://www.piratecoveresort.com and I've posted a photo of the map.

So I wanted to take it where it could be heard. I didn't include any names just the company - Optic Helicopter.  I thought it was very well stated and explained everything. But apparently someone else thought differently and that's ok....I just want people to be aware. A friend had posted on O&O sharing my story and after reading so many comments and hearing so many different stories that ended just how mine did....I knew I had to share! I booked a surprise Helicopter ride for my fiance birthday about a month ago (October 1st) with Optic Helicopter. I have Email confirmations along with waviers signed. The week pier to our flight I reached out to confirm our appointment due to planning almost 4  weeks ahead of time, but nothing ever came back to reconfirm our appointment flight. Then, the day before our flight (10/28), I got an automated text message confirmation for our 4pm flight...reading this put me at easy. It was a whole day I had planned for my fiance as a surprise scavenger hunt that lead to Hanger 24 for his finally surprise, which was a helicopter ride through Optic Helicopters. When we reached our final destination at the airport at 345 (as we were instructed to due so through the email, arrive 15mins before time). We were let in by an employee. We waited inside the gate with family and friends for over 20mins when another employee of the airport asked if we were there for Optic Helicopter, we said yes. Then we were told by this gentleman that the owner has not been around all weekend. His truck was there, but no helicopter. He told us that there was another group before us that was booked for a morning flight that he did not show up for either. Also stating that he is known to not show up for appointments. This cleary is an on going situation with him. (I've personally only heard good reviews, before I planned this trip) We went back inside Hanger 24 to ask for more info. Employees told us the same exact thing. That the owner just doesn't show up. That they have seen this too many times before. We called, we emailed, we texted...no answer. I have tried to reach out through soical media today but still no answer. I called my bank and a dispute is in progress. Crossing my fingers the bank will handle this. I have made my post on my personal page public so everyone could see the surprise scavenger hunt I had all planned out, until we were left there in total disappointment. Your welcome to check it out.... I understand that life happens. There's always 2 sides sometimes 3 sides to every story. I understand that many of people have had great times and so many have been left empty handed with no questions. But as to my knowledge he does have employees. If there was honestly a HUGE emergency, his team or employees would have reached out too clients on his books for this weekend. There are so many questions I have, just like you...and still no answers. (I am a Hairstylist and when I have an emergency or sick as hell, I have to inform anyone on my books to reschedule, I know how a business works) Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I would never tell someone not to book with him but I will tell my story and I will tell people to be prepared for a possible disappointment, an expensive one too. I hoping that this pilot sees how many people he has disappointed and to possibly change the way he runs his business, because it is a very cool one, but not when you constantly let clients down and leave them with no answers. *** To only find out 10/30 evening that he was in GLAMIS! Saw on a friend's story. I left a review on his Facebook page and it was deleted.
