Man. Oh man. Boy did we come on off day or what ?!?! First…read morethe address listed is not the actual address the restaurant is located at. It's moved into a shopping center close to the Arena. When we got there - there was a large table about 12-16 that looked like they'd been there awhile since their they all had drinks and orders where not taken while we were there. There was also another large table (10-12) that had left since it was evidenced by all the dirty plates and cups left behind. I hoped that it wasn't an omen for our experience to come. We sat at an available table that had extra glasses and unexplainable crumbs which were picked up. We waited for the rest of our party (2) for about 15 minutes and I noticed a couple of other tables filling up. I also noticed that there were no plates being delivered to the large table. Hmmmm. Red flag. We got our coffees while we waited. We then ordered- chilaquiles, 2 tacos, 2 huevos rancheros plates. While we wait for over an hour, I finally start seeing one and two plates being delivered to that large table. I thought - man we are in trouble. During this time at least one table walked out. And still people were coming and all waiting. And waiting and waiting. By the time we got our food it was close to an hour and a half, the chilaquiles were lukewarm at best and the tacos were served in reheated tortillas. I know those- it's when the flour tortilla ends up getting on the crispy side. Sent the chilaquiles back and did not reorder. How can you serve it to a customer when the cheese has been melted and they waited too long that the cheese cooled and congealed. We were patient but damnnnnnnn an hour and a half for a Mexican breakfast. Yikes! Maybe they didn't expect the large parties or maybe one of the cooks called in. But daaaaaanggg... waiting for almost an hour and a half for food.... not sure what to say about that.... please someone let me know if their turnaround times from order to delivery improves.

Luckily I found this place on yelp and I couldn't have been more pleased. I made a reservation and I had to change the time, they had no problem with this and accommodated for us. When we got there, they had a table ready and welcomed us in a friendly fashion. They quickly came and took our orders and started handing out plates quick. The food was great! Several people got different plates since a lot of their options are under $15 and none of them had regrets. Very disappointing experience I would not recommend this…read moreplace. My husband is out of town and happened to be near Mexico, so he was excited to try some authentic tacos. Unfortunately, his experience was anything but welcoming. He had a difficult time communicating with the employee on the intercom because of the language barrier. When he finally got someone who spoke English, they explained that the order came with four tacos. When he went to pay with Apple Pay, the employee took his phone and then closed the window without immediately returning it. My husband actually had to open the window himself to get his phone back. According to him, everyone looked surprised or confused by what happened. Because we have experienced identity theft in the past, this was an immediate red flag for him. When someone takes your phone while you're trying to pay and then closes the window without giving it back, that's not something you should have to wonder about. Instead of receiving an apology or having the situation handled professionally, he was given three tacos instead of four, with only beef and tortillas no onion, no cilantro, and no salsa. After checking his order, he had to ask for the missing toppings and finally received them. As a Latina myself, I find this entire experience incredibly disappointing. If you're serving customers in the United States, there should be an effort to communicate with them and provide the same quality of food and service regardless of whether they're Latino or American. My husband went there looking forward to authentic tacos and left feeling uncomfortable and poorly treated. Based on this experience, we will not be returning, and I would not recommend this place to our family, friends, or followers.

This is my grandpa's favorite place to eat. So much so that he received a generous $100 gift card. On a recent visit south, we ate here 2 times in a row: for dinner and breakfast. I've been here many times, a typical stop when we visit my 89 year old grandpa. As always, it's delicious and no one has any complaints. Now, a question that might be in the back of your mind is, do I need to know Spanish to eat here? Well, it certainly wouldn't hurt to have basic level 1 Spanish knowledge. Yes, our group was mixed dining here, but our server spoke Spanish the entire time to us. And sure, they know English (I think) because my ginger father orders in English and they reply in Spanish, he looks at my mom who replies to her in Spanish. And that's the way the world works when your vocabulary is limited. "Quiero café, por favor," except say it in the most gringo way possible (Key-arrow cafay poor faver)...it causes some giggles. I once briefly dated a guy who was entirely serious when he asked me "How do you say 'no' in Spanish?" In my mind I thought...is this a joke? He also asked me "What is ma-nan-a?" Ayy Dios mio! I can't possibly be dating someone who is of level 10 gringo status. Two years living in Texas, his sister married a man from Peru, his nephew's name is Mateo and you don't know a damn word in Spanish? Did he even know that Mateo = Matthew in English?! I believe in signs, and this was around the time when Jay-Z's song "On to the Next One" was a big hit. I heard it while in the car with him, and soo...you get my drift here. But seriously, if you're ever in Laredo, Danny's is the go-to spot. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, they even have a bar. Menudo is a hot commodity and only offered on Saturdays & Sundays. I ordered huevos a la Mexicana with rice and beans and their amazing hashbrowns. It's basically on the verge of being migas, minus the tortilla chips. But the real delight were the AMAZING tortillas. Perfect and just how I like my flour tortillas: not pale, browned spots and crunchy. Upon entering and getting seated, I decided instead of a sandwich that I wanted brunch since breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Sadly, all the brunch items I wanted were not available which was pretty much the entire brunch menu. So I defaulted to the sandwiches. I decided on the half order of the La Cosa Nostra sandwich which is basically an italian on ciabatta. So pretty much an organized crime of italian meats and veggies on bread (If you don't know what La Cosa Nostra means, I suggest you watch The Sopranos). It came with a side of homemade chips for a complete meal. Filling and tasty, I found the giardiniera to be a nice touch with the meats and veggies. Plus the bread had some softness to it for a ciabatta. Staff is nice but customer service could use some polishing (i.e. making sure silverware is on the table).
