It went through a big refurb a few years back and the interior is homely and comfy. The food is generally of a good standard, however I have had the odd disappointing dish. My recommendation is to go for the specials as they are always good! It's not the cheapest but that is normally reflected in the quality. The service can also be a little slow during busy periods.

We found a nice booth and were in the process of sitting down when we were greeted and I asked and they were still doing lunch. I couldn't find the toilets for a while as the door was open for staff to go in and out so I couldn't see the sign which resulted in me walking all the way around the pub looking in random rooms. I ordered the mushroom stroganoff and hubby had the beef burger. The wait wasn't long and the waitress was lovely. The meals were very large but unfortunately, the chips were undercooked and my stroganoff was quite bland (though lovely once I seasoned it myself). The customer service was slightly odd and gave us an unwelcome feeling that's the second reason for the two star rating. I think the food was just OK and would go back if someone else was having something there, but I don't think we would choose to go back on our own again.

It's bloody brilliant. The pints are always straight from the barrel and absolutely fantastic, and the locals are always a great laugh. The decor of the place resembles a blokes house that he converted into a pub, which might sound off putting, but it emits such an incredible charm that you cant help but fall in love with the place. There's a huge outside seating area which is essentially half a football pitch thats well kept and great for children. The location is slap bang in the country, with little but cows and horses for miles around. It's a great bike ride in the day to get to, and certainly a taxi ride at night (no buses in these parts my laaaad!) This is a unique pub, and very special. If you fancy treating your mates to a great night out, then you wont be disappointed mingling with the locals and getting a bit of hops in you.
