We ordered from Chelsea at Big Rock Fabrications and all seemed great. Then attempted delivery…read morebecame an issue. The delivery driver showed up unannounced and left with the delivery at hand. Chelsea, from Big Rock Fabrications assured us that they had not attempted delivery. Delivery was attempted, just as our cameras had recorded. A couple of weeks later, the same truck and Company arrived with our rock. Transport claimed it had not tried to deliver the first time, Big Rock Fabrications told us it had not attempted to deliver as well. The cameras don't lie. However, we were happy to have our rock at hand ,we had a project to get started and we were excited to get started turning our back yard into a piece of paradise on the mainland. Unfortunately, we realized that multiple pallets of rock had arrived cracked and unusable. Once we notified Chelsea at Big Rock Fabrications of the situation with the broken rock that is when the ghosting began. We would call and receive the standard, "we are working on it". Then the phone calls began to be ignored. No information, no call back and no guidance and even hang ups. Basically they were great until they weren't. It is a shame that a business treats their customers this way. We were very patient and dealt with the situation very professionally and with aloha. Our contractor called, the subcontractor called, the homeowners called, all to no avail. They even started to screen the calls. They went out of their way to ignore us. It would have been easier to let us know it could take a while and explain the process. Our family from Hawaii wanted to help us and speak to Big Rock Fabrications. They would assure them that they were looking into it and we should hear from them real soon. Fast forward... we still do not have our rock. We have an unfinished project. We were not ever offered a solution. This is a big lesson for us, the homeowner. We had not updated our home in thirty years. We should have checked the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Had we done so we would have learned that Big Rock Fabrications is not BBB Accredited. That is their choice , but a company that is BBB Accredited builds trust with their customers, advertises honestly, tells the truth, is transparent, honors their promises, are responsive, safeguards privacy, and embody integrity. Big Rock Fabrications did not embody any of these characteristics through our process with them. @HGTV, Renovation Aloha, kamohaiandtristyn, do you really want to advertise and support a company like this? Kamohai and Tristan, each of your homes is so graciously blessed and honored by your Kapuna. We have been so dishonored and mistreated by Big Rock Fabrications, absolutely no aloha spirit. We do not recommend Big Rock Fabrications because if you spend your hard earned money as we did, you will be disappointed. That little piece of Aloha we are yearning for in the mainland, is still not completed. Ultimately, Big rock Fabrications got paid and we did not receive our undamaged rock. The Spencer Ohana

Well as for the selection of products? We felt like kids in a candy store! They have so much to offer that no one else has! As for service? Chelsea was excellent! She should be the owner if she isn't already. Her customer service was perfect! If I owned a retail business I'd steal her away! Her enthusiasm, product knowledge and creativity deserves recognition. And the rest of the staff? This company should be open on the weekends to every day walk-in homeowners like ourselves. Once the word spreads their sales would go through the roof! So do us all a favor and open at least on Saturdays Big Rock. We're sure you won't regret it!

From the first meeting (with the delightful and knowledgeable Michelle), through the quote process, to installation, it was an unexpectedly pleasant experience. Late in the engagement, we discovered a significant error (my mistake), and they sprung into action to rectify it and did so in the most professional and fair way possible. We had a massive 8'x8' island that required the joining of two slabs. Their work was so flawless that we play a game with guests, asking them to find the seam -- it takes quite an effort. Finally, we're so pleased that we just hired them for our second project!

Todd Branson specializes in premium countertops, so it didn't seem like he could come down to our budget. But he just happens to have some single slabs left over from larger projects. We came to an agreement very quickly and his account manager, Michelle, was very easy to work with. Todd came to our home to personally to take measurements for cutting the slab. Todd arrived as expected right on time. He set up some very sensitive laser equipment to perform the task. He listened to our design preferences and made us aware of options such as increasing the edge height to hide the sub-countertop. Todd's measurements must have been very good because the installation only took a couple of hours. He got as much stone out of that slab as humanly possible and apologized for not having enough to make one of the seams disappear. It is the most beautiful countertop we have ever seen. And my wife and I are very house-y.
