Right away, as soon as I walk in it felt very familiar, like I was walkibg into any number of authentic taquerias in South Texas. It also smelled incredible in there. Quickly I saw what I wanted to eat: Chile Colorado, which is slowly stewef pork in a delicious red chili sauce. It was one of those dishes I fell in love with when I first had it at El Coyote in LA. Service was very friendly and prompt, and the prices were reasonable. There's a lot more on the menu that I will definitely try. I am looking forward to returning. They served with rojo and verde salsa, and salt. Both salsas (with meal and chips, as well as taco beef) were under seasoned, which is always a catch-22 for some. Salsa was extremely tomato flavored, which many like, but it is from a lack of seasoning and roasting. Chips were hard corn based, thick, which is another catch-22. Service was great and friendly but I was up-charged for using a debit card. While municipals rarely make this illegal, almost all credit card companies outlaw it as up-charge for debit should be closer to .03% instead of the 3% they charged me. That puts them at risk of losing their contract with their CC servicer (if caught).
