I had no prior experience with Right Way. Never heard of them before and had no interest in buying a car there. My good friend who is from the Grand Rapids area knew of the company. He has had friends from down state that had positive experiences with them. Apparently, they have been in business down state for a long time and are just now expanding up north. He talked me into just looking at the car on the lot that caught my eye. I wasn't even in the mood to shop cars but my 2002 Ford Explorer was dying. I was facing the decision of putting another $3000.00 into it or bite the bullet and get into a newer vehicle. I am currently going through a divorce. My credit is ......well, subprime to say the least. I wasn't even sure that I could get a loan for another vehicle. We pulled into the lot. I looked at a couple of vehicles but I noticed there were no prices on the cars. I said to my friend it was time to go. How can I trust a dealership that doesn't even put the prices on the cars? My friend said he would go and get the salesman and then he was gone before I could object. The salesman came out. I glowered at him a little, as if to say I am a tough girl and you can't trick me. Although, truth be told, I know nothing about cars. The salesmans name was Chris Pion. He kindly introduced himself and went on to explain the philosophy of Right Way. Their niche is getting people who are in trouble with their credit into the right vehicle. They believe in building customer relations by doing right by their customers. They believe in building life time connections. If they treat you right, you will come back. Smart. And everyone wins. So I agreed to go inside. I met Roby Isaac the manager and guru of used car finance. He is energetic and sincere. He looked over my numbers. Then flat out told me I couldn't afford the car I liked. I thought, what kind of salesman is this? He then asked me what I wanted in a vehicle. They gave me the options that fit my needs and price range. I had choices of what was on their Traverse City lot or I could go online and see what was at their other locations. There was a 2009 Dodge Journey on the lot that I loved. Once I decided on that, Roby went to work. When I left that night, we had an agreement in place and would finish the next day. I was very pleased with the terms and was buying a car. It was about 9pm and I was tired. As I hadn't been planning on purchasing a vehicle that night. I didn't have any of my paperwork with me. What I didn't know, until I was leaving, was that they had already been closed an hour or so and had kept bankers on the line to work a deal. I kept them over well after work hours and wasn't even going to close the deal! And they were great. The next morning when I came back, Roby asked me to step into his office. I thought to myself. Here we go. I sat down at his desk. He began to tell me how being a single mom, going through a divorce, the responsibilities I have, that I really needed an extended warranty. I completely agreed but I had a good monthly payment and didn't want to spend anymore. I could feel myself tensing and getting ready to haggle.........then Roby said, "I believe you need this warranty so much that I went back to the banks this morning. I got your interest rate dropped another 5% and I was able to get you the warranty at an even lower payment than you were planning on." I have lived in this area most of my life. I have bought cars locally and I have bought cars when I lived in out of state. I have never had an experience like this. I got everything I needed and more. Today for the first time in a very long time, I feel relieved and safe in my car. I don't worry about breaking down with my boys in the vehicle. When my husband, my daughter and I went to look for a car the first place we went to was Right Way. And I am so happy we did. Right Way was the best choice for our growing family. They understood why we needed an SUV and not just any other car. With a daughter and a large puppy they can take up a lot of space. So when we told them our problem, they did everything they could to help us out! My husband had to declare bankruptcy a year or so ago. I originally talked to Chris with some very specific requirements for the type of vehicle and features I needed for my business. Within 20 minutes he had already tracked down exactly what I needed, even before I had made it into the dealership to talk with him in person! The vehicle was perfect! It's so nice to have a sales person actually pay attention rather than just trying to sell you something that will make them the most profit. WOW! Next, I was concerned with what sort of financing might be available due to my self employed status. Other companies that had been willing to offer financing wanted to charge a ridiculous interest rate. Roby, on the other hand, quickly went to work and got me not only an incredible rate at a local credit union but also managed to roll a nice cash payment into the loan so I could pay for my old vehicle to be repaired, sell it, and put even more money back into my pocket. All the staff was very friendly and helpful and worked together to get us into our new car. Roby and Chris took our families need into consideration and recommened a car that we had not considered before which, to my surprise, met our needs providing the safety and reliability and economy we were looking for. Roby worked hard to get us the rate, term and financing we needed to stay within our budget. In the end rate was better that my credit union could offer. Roby was quick to address any questions about the vehicle after our purchase. I purchased a 2009 Chevy Silverado. I was impressed with the fact that RightWay gives warranties and two years of free oil changes with your purchase. Our agent was very courteous and treated us with respect. I would reccommend RightWay to anyone who needs to rebuild their credit. The only thing that I was not happy with is the fact that you have to take your vehicle to Traverse City to have the oil changes done.
