Shout out to Northern Auto & Tire Inc.! They've done good work for us in the past so when our Terrain acted up badly we took it in. Code showed a "low boost" from the turbo, and the reader suggested the most likely fix is a new turbo. Not what we wanted to hear. Fortunately Tom at Northern Auto dug deeper and found more dtc's present, and located a service bulletin suggesting transmission wiring issues could be the trouble. He found the connection loose and dirty. After cleaning and ensuring a good connection, he tested and found the issues gone. Northern Auto saved my life!!!! I was traveling for work and my car was acting possessed. It was the first snow of the season and I was spinning out of control multiple times, across both lanes of traffic. I called my fleet management company in a panic! I drive a fleet vehicle since I drive so much for work. They found the closest shop-Northern Auto. Northern doesn't normally work with Wheels Fleet Management but they worked it out. Zelda the owner of Northern Auto went above and beyond for me. I have never experienced anything like this level of customer service. She found tires that worked for my car and her son Zach drove several hours to get them for me. Zelda even let me borrow her car to go to a restaurant. The employees of Norther Auto stayed after closing hours (on a Friday night!) to make sure the job was done perfectly. They are absolutely amazing. read more

After an initial inspection of my car revealed the need for a new strut assembly I gave the go ahead. But when they dug into the job they discovered that the problem was something much much less expensive. Other shops might have gone ahead with the more expensive repair, but my guys went with the right option. I highly value honesty and integrity in a shop and I've found both at Northern Auto. BEWARE !!!!! of this company from the moment I started talking to the salesman was nothing but lies. I ended up buying a car from these guys the salesman tried making the problems with the car look like very small, easy and cheap things to fix, being a mechanic for a lot of years I called him out on the problems and ended up getting the car for a decent price. The owner of the dealership offered to fix one of the problems but couldn't get the part that day so since I live about 3 hours away I offered to replace the part myself if they sent it to me, no problem they said. After two weeks I called them and asked where my License plate and part was 1. Because my temporary plate had expired, and 2. I really needed the part. They said they must have gotten lost in the mail which was a lie because when I finally received the plate The mailing date was 2 days after I called them. As for the part they gave their word that it was sent, more than a month later I still don't have the part, calling them every couple days did no good lies every time I called. I ended up buying the part myself and installing it which is what I should have done right away. Very dishonest people!!!! So just saying I would not recommend dealing with these people at all.
