Anytime an auto shop tells me there's no charge after having my car for well over an hour. They're gonna get five stars. Not only did they fix the small problem, but their service is excellent as well. I was hesitant to do business here after it changed hands but other relatives have had very good success also read more

Dave's Garage - On the road again - Auto Repair Near Me - Traverse City, Michigan

Brandon and the team at Dave's Garage are unbelievable, going above and beyond when it comes to making sure you're well taken care of. They are the best in Traverse City hands down. They gave me a loaner to use while they worked on my car and they were fast and efficient. They don't overcharge and they never talk down to you. My best mechanic experience hands down. Can't recommend them enough!!! read more

My wife and I have been 20+ year dealer service center customers. We recently tried Dave's Garage as the dealer was 5 weeks out for a repair. They got my Wagoneer in for service in a timely manner and the experience was amazing. The communication from the beginning was on point. They finished the repairs on time, when promised and it was done correctly with no finger prints on the white paint(a common issue at the previous shop). Dave's Garage is now my go to shop. read more

I love this place. It was my first time taking my car here and I was super nervous because it was my first time taking my car anywhere and the woman on the phone was so nice and understanding. And the mechanic called me everyday and kept me updated and explained things to me and didn't make me feel stupid. These people are the kind of people who genuinely care and want to help and I'm happy that I chose this place because im definitely going back if I need to. It's just nice to have a mechanic I can trust I'm glad this place exists. 10/10 read more

Great place to take your vehicle for repairs. Super friendly and helpful. Quality work.

We have been going to Dave's regularly with our Honda & Subaru for quite a few years. I like: They greet you when you enter the facility. When you phone them a human answers. They listen to your problem/concerns I have never had a problem with any of their work. Bottom line..........I trust them! read more

We were in the Traverse City area for a long weekend of site seeing & wine tasting from Ohio before we were heading into the UP when our service engine light came on. Dave's took time to diagnose the problem. We were now stranded with no vehicle for 3 days until Dave's could get the parts needed and fix our car. They helped us get a rental car so we were on our way to the UP for more fall colors and waterfall site seeing. Dave's was fantastic in taking care of our needs and was wonderful to deal with! First day of our four day vacation we experienced car trouble. It was Sunday driving up from downstate. We came limping into Traverse City with a failing alternator in our 15 year old Honda Element. Three miles out of town the car died. After reading reviews, we had the car towed to Dave's Garage, slept in the back of the car and met with Heather in reception when the doors opened. We explained that we were stuck with no transportation--no rental cars were available anywhere. Although they were scheduling three weeks out, they took us in on an emergency basis. While we were waiting for the repair, they shuttled us into town where we ate and went down to the shore. When the repair was complete, they shuttled us back to Dave's Garage. Fabulous! These are nice people, great service, excellent work. Thanks all! read more

I live down state right outside of Detroit. I was in Traverse City for the week and my car broke down. LONG STORY SHORT, I needed a new radiator. The receptionists were AMAZING, and got me a really quick appointment. I felt like the staff was so trustworthy. They knew I was vulnerable, 4 hours from home, with a non working vehicle, but I NEVER felt taken advantage of! Everything was thoroughly explained to me, and all the prices were very clear. They fixed my car in a day, and the price was extremely fair! BTW I drive a Jeep Wrangler, so don't think this garage is only for foreign cars. Can't recommend this place enough! read more

I could not own my Saab without the excellent service and help from Dave's Garage. From scheduling, to prompt, efficient service, they are simply the best. The entire staff is so very helpful with every concern that I have regarding my old Saab. Bruce W. Mann read more

Friendly, courteous, helpful, knowledgeable, honest, attentive, do good work and stand behind it, outstanding business.

Brought my car in several times. Twice to have a pre-purchase assessment done, I was told both times yes it is all good. I then spent several thousand dollars improving the car with Dave's. Decided to shop around for a timing belt replacement found I could save a few hundred going somewhere else, so I did. The first thing the shop told me was they would not work on the car because the frame was rusted so bad. Guess that is what the rattle was. After using Dave's for almost 10-years I won't go back. Be cautious with this group. read more

Thank Goodness for Dave's Garage! As an independent contractor that needs his Truck for my profession, Dave's Garage works hard to get my Truck back on the road in a timely matter. I trust Dave's Garage with all our cars and Trucks in our Family. I will easily surpass 300K for miles thanks to all the proper care and recommendations from Craig and Jamie. read more

Can't even fill transmission fluid to right level. These people are a joke. Good luck to there new customers. Get rdy to pay big money and be bugged by texts when you haven't been back in a few months read more

This garage has always been great. Some mechanics treat costumers as a nuisance. These folks are respectful. Give em a try.

They did a pretty good job installing parts on to my vehicle, but the car was inoperable so they were required to push the vehicle in the shop when I picked up the car none of the fluids had been replaced after the job thus meaning oil and coolant and when I parked it at home after a day of it not working so we'll due to the lack of fluid change, it had a huge dent in the trunk and another on the top of the deck lid. I'd recommend them for certain jobs as in maintenance but not anything bigger. read more

These guys are top notch. I went in for a quick and simple inspection and was treated like I was one of their usual customers. Inspection was quick and very reasonably priced. I was expecting to get fleeced like lots of garages like to do with services like this. Nice, comfortable and clean waiting area with TV. I highly recommend Dave's. read more

Consistently reliable service and always realistic in terms of what needs fixing and what can wait. Best auto service people around.

Very friendly and great service. Pricing was great. They give a military discount too. Highly recommend and will be back when needed.

This place is the BEST! We traveled to the TC area with our kids (8, 5 and 2) and broke down in downtown TC on our way back home to South Carolina. The tow company recommended Dave's, so we had our van towed there. On Thursday afternoon, we found out that it was the ECM that was causing the issue. The closest part that we needed was in Grand Rapids (2.5 hrs away) and they had a favor called in so that it would get there the next day so that we could stay on schedule with getting back home. Jamie got online and looked for hotels for us and recommended restaurants and things to do to keep the kids occupied that evening. After the ECM was fixed the next day, they noticed that the alternator didn't sound right and wasn't working to its full potential - so we replaced that too. We never felt pressured to fix it - they gave us the option to not replace it but since we had such a long drive back, we decided to go ahead and do it. The guys at Dave's Garage (Craig and Jamie specifically) could not have been nicer. We pretty much camped out in their shop for a day and a half. I am sure Nick Jr. or Disney was on most of the day on their TV and they were always super patient and accommodating. From the popsicles that they gave our kids, to playing soccer outside with them when they had a free minute - it helped us make light of the situation. I HIGHLY recommend Dave's Garage!!! They are honest, trustworthy and will go above and beyond! read more

My car was leaking some fluid and before we made the drive back to southeastern Michigan we thought we should check it out. We called first and went to Dave's Garage and a very help service person (John?) came out and check everything under the hood. We didn't have to wait at all and he didn't charge us. He also cleaned off the iced up wipers and asked if he could do anything else for us. If we lived in the area it would be our place to take our car for repair. It was just so refreshing to have someone who didn't feel put out for helping a customer in a hurry to get back home for Christmas. read more

Thank you Jamie for your superior service. Our son is working in TC for the summer. A yellow check engine light came on in his Wrangler. Needed to know if it was safe for him to drive to Faster Horses and Jamie diagnosed immediately and said the auto was ok to drive It was a code that Jeep had to update. I knew my son could drive the distance safely. THANKS GUYS!!! read more

My car died due to some electrical problems and Dave's got the car back to the shop for a new alternator and had me back on the road in no time at all. Great service. read more

I have to say, I'm impressed. I recently had a brake line rupture, which left me with no brakes while driving. I called and talked to Craig about my predicament. He told me I could bring it in right away and they would get to it as soon as they could. Within an hour or so I received a call from Jamie, he was polite and professional. He gave me a quote and told me he would work on my car the rest of the night. I was told to expect my car by 10am the next day, but Jamie ended up calling me at 9am to tell me it was done. It was a little more than I expected ($485 for brake line fabrication) but I was happy with the service and the priority they gave me. read more

In for tires. Got me in right away. Free WiFi and free coffee and good conversation. Always a fair price and great service !!

The owners at Dave's garage have been dealing with Me a lot over the past few weeks. My cars life is coming to end and I only wanted to fix what I had to to make it safe again. They were great helping me decide what I needed to do and didn't try to sell me anything extra. They got my car in and running good again the same day I called! The service was excellent. I am not usually a "regular" at any place, but I can guarantee I will keep coming back. What a great bunch of guys. I am one happy girl! read more
