Purchased a refrigerator (for garage) from Right Price Resale & had it delivered on Friday, 9/3. When I received it, I noticed that both the fridge & freezer controls were set to MAX setting. I did not think anything of it at the time, so I lowered both down to 5 and left the unit running. We had family flying in from WA later that day, so I loaded some drinks in the fridge & put a bowl of ice in freezer (for emergency use). After that, we used some of the drinks from the fridge but did not use or look at the freezer again, until after they left on 9/8. When I opened the freezer, it was cool, at best and the ice cubes had melted. I turned the switches back to MAX and checked freezer a few hours later & the water in the bowl was starting to freeze again. I checked it again the following morning & the bowl was just water again. Clearly the freezer was only working sporadically. I called the store on Friday, 9/10, ONE WEEK after delivery and the man said nothing he could do as he reminded me of the stores 2 day warranty. I told him we were told unit was tested & was working, which it was NOT. He said I would need to speak to the manager. I have NOT received any call back from anyone from this store regarding this issue. I know that they have a 2 day warranty but there is NO way this freezer worked properly when they tested it. I know now why they had the settings on MAX when it was delivered, as that is the only time when it works intermittently.
BEWARE when buying anything from this store. Their testing (and cleaning) methods are clearly substandard. My belief is that they know this, which is why they only give a 2 DAY warranty. I would have called them sooner, If we had been using the freezer but with family in town, we had no need for it.
My money is most likely lost on this non-working fridge but I wanted to warn others to use caution when buying from this store. read more
