Right now came out on time, were professional, and finished and fixed the problem on the spot. Deducted one star because of pricing. Tech offered to replace a 20 dollar capacitor for $680. When I challenged him on pricing, he eventually compromised for $350. Which felt fair for a same day house call, which took about 20 minutes to complete. Requested that they diagnose my furnace & AC. One guy came out to investigate (nice guy) but said my unit was too old and couldn't be fixed (unit was from 2004) and that my AC used a type of Freon that's $600 p/gallon. Later, an estimator from "Right Now" came out to give me a quote on an all new system. Without even looking at it, he informed me that it would be $8K for a new furnace & a several thousand more for a new AC. Not convinced, since "Right Now" didn't even look at it, I called Greens Heating & AC, who quoted me $1000 to repair the furnace (even though pink truck guys said repair wasn't possible). Came out on a Saturday to fix my leaking shower, and came quickly, which I really appreciated. The job wasn't done great; the plumber seemed quite young and couldn't get into the space easily. The fixture they placed didn't match the rest of my fixtures and the back panel they installed didn't sit flush. However, they stopped the leak and the plumber was friendly and tried to do a good job, so it wasn't all bad. I was grateful to have them come out quickly and to communicate. Looking at my bill, though, I can't give them more than one star. Apparently, they charge $700 an hour for labor. I could have paid less for a brain surgeon to come out. I would definitely avoid them--you can get a lower price literally anywhere. read more

I called to have a water heater replaced on Dec. 2. Connor, the technician bought the wrong size (said it wouldn't fit) and so he hooked up a different water heater for the night so we could have hot water (which I appreciate). The technician was very apologetic. I told him that all I wanted was a quality job (didn't want them to rush and cut corners). When they came back, they bought another water heater but it was still too big. This was day two. Technicians continued to apologize and offered me a free upgrade - a mixing valve so that I could have more hot water. He quoted me $2000 for the upgrade but said he would give it to me for free because of all the issues. Technicians came back on day 3 and installed the new one (lower quality water heater). It took them another day (day 4) to finalize the install. Inspector from the city came out and the inspection failed. I spoke with the inspector about the $2000 upgrade and he laughed and said that the company played me. I spoke with Heather (manager at Right Now) and she said that a failed inspection is a rare thing to have happen. Heather then informed me that she would be sending out a more experienced technician to fix the failed inspection issues. The new guy game out and fixed the issue and it passed inspection (day 5). I went out to change my air filter on my furnace and the new technician that redid all the aluminum piping blocked my access to change the air filter. I called the company again and asked them how this could have happened with a more experienced technician. No answer was provided. They said that they could send someone out to fix the issue. This would be day 6 of a water heater install. Aaron was scheduled to come fix the issue today (Jan. 11) between 8-10am. After the first year, we discovered that the unit they sold us was undersized for our home's square footage. Despite multiple requests, they have refused to take responsibility or offer a proper solution. Most recently, we were told a part needed replacement--at a quoted cost of over $600. After declining and doing our own research, we found the part retails for under $100 and takes just minutes to install. The inflated pricing and lack of accountability are deeply concerning. tl;dr Right Now sells faulty equipment and a warranty that doesn't cover anything, and is more than happy to charge overblown fees and upcharged replacement costs. Do not recommend. I'm giving two stars because at minimum, the folks Right Now send to your door and polite. As a company I wouldn't give them half a star. We were sold a faulty AC unit that underperformed in cooling our house down. When we complained the first time, were told that it was normal for a house to only get 5 degrees cooler than the outside weather. After insisting that someone come and take a look, they found no problems with the unit itself. We called in a second company to take a look and lo and behold, there was almost no refigirant in the system. Called Right Now again to complain and got the run around. Fast forward through two blistering hot summers with an AC unit that just barely functions, and it stops working again. Call Right Now who have the gall to charge an $80 "diagnostic fee" on a unit that is still covered by the farce they call a warranty. The gentleman who comes out finds out that one of the parts has died. To fix it, he'd have to charge $520 on top of the $80 diagnostic fee. The kicker to all this? The part costs $20-$30 dollars at most retailers, and once again this is on a machine that is supposed to be under warranty. And while I can normally accept that you're paying for expertise in these cases, this is quite literally a simple disconnect and reconnect job. We decided not to have Right Now handle the repairs, and are looking (eagerly) to working with a new company. read more

Tech 1 installed a new thermostat. A.C. temperature was sporadic. Tech 2 checked everything in the house re the temp. FINALLY it was discovered that Tech 1 did NOT program the thermostat. Tech 2 did after too much time checking everything but my temperature. I called the business and explained that once a thermostat was installed, it should, at that time, be programmed. The cooling fan on my outdoor upstairs 2 ton AC unit stopped working and I knew AI could not get my insurance guy to come out until Monday, so I call these guys. Their repair guy came Saturday and put in a new capacitor and my fan worked but he said the compressor was not working and it was not cooling. So, he sent their salesman to quote me a price for a new unit. He wanted to replace everything, Upstairs and downstairs, outdoor 2 and 4 ton units and the furnace in the attic and the garage. $25,000 dollars. I waited for my insurance repair guy (who I have worked with for the 18 years that I have lived in my house, so I trust him) on Monday. He put in a new capacitor and the outdoor unit works fine, no problem with the compressor and it cools great! I don't trust these guys at all and will never call them again!!!!!!!!! read more

STAY AWAY....RUN.....RUN....RUN as far as you can. Both Home Depot and Lowe's use them. So, don't call them. The reasons is the first time I called Home Depot 1) I had a tech come out form Right NOW to service my electrical split system and all he did was check one capacitor voltage and clean my coils on my air handler of which I had to talk him into. He DID NOT check my outside unit. Also, he was supposed to set me up for a quote for a possible replacement, but I never heard anything. I called the next day and informed them and all they did was apologize. Ay least I got that...lol. 2) The next day I called Lowe's to get a quote and Right Now came out again. At first they quoted me a price and by the time they left they reduced the price substantially via phone call to their office. This was a set up for two reasons. They use subpar equipment (Titan) and I called another well known installers and got quotes that is over $11k cheaper for a same size unit and it is a Carrier which is a much better brand. I really don't know how RIGHT NOW stays in business after knowing their subpar service and the astronomical price they charge for their equipment and installs. read more

This is long winded but if you're looking at using Right Now Heating and Air, you should read about my experiences. It'll save you A LOT of money! Bought a brand new heat pump and furnace from them in 2019. The following year, the A/C stopped working in the middle of a heat wave. I called them to let them know and they said I'd have to wait two weeks for the next available technician. After spending over $10K the year before, I felt like I deserved better service. I lost my mind at them, told them I'll call someone else to help me out. They threatened to void my warranty, I threatened to blast them on my social media and suddenly I had a technician that afternoon. It took 6-7 different technicians over a couple of weeks to get it fixed. During one of their trips out to my house, they noticed my water heater was days from bursting. I was in the middle of refinancing my home and couldn't make any big purchases on my cards. I asked them about helping me out and giving me a 30 day account to replace the hot water tank. After spending over $10K I thought I'd be a trusted customer and someone they'd be happy to help. Nope! They said I had to pay in full or they cant help me. No big deal, I found someone else. I'll get back to the hot water tank at the end of my review. Every year since then I've had to call them out for one issue after another. I paid over $400 for a portable swamp cooler and window AC for a back up plan in case my AC stopped working. That's how much faith I have in this company and the system they sold me. Every time they've come out since 2020, it's cost me money. Last winter I had to rely on firewood to keep my house warm because my heat pump couldn't keep my house warm. I'm somewhat convinced they sold me a heat pump that's too small for my house. The heat pump I had before was older and I never had an issue keeping the house cool or warm. Unfortunately it stopped working and I had no choice but to replace it. I tested the AC during some warmer weather a couple of weeks ago and found that the AC wasnt working...again. Called them out....again... and they charged me $1500. I was charged over $500 for a fan that stopped working. My wife told the tech that the system was still under warranty. His response was 'that's the warranty price." Charged me nearly $500 to do a leak test. Found a leak in the furnace and still charged me to repair it even though it's still under warranty. I called their office to ask them about the fan. I couldn't get an answer that day. I called everyday to get an answer and 4 days later, I received a call from someone named Jacey who explained to me the heat pump manufacturer's warranty didn't cover delivery and labor charges for installation. Instead of arguing with Jacey, I've just decided that after spending nearly $3k, on top of spending nearly $10K on a brand new system, I'm just going to cut my losses and call in someone new the next time the system fails. I don't care about voiding their "warranty." I'm not going to let them onto my property again. I still wish I had my old heat pump. It was fine for the first 10 years I've lived in this house. Since then, every summer, a pink technician's truck has been parked out the front of my house. My portable swamp cooler and window AC has been used to keep my family cool during a summer heatwave. If someone from Right Now Heating and Air is reading this, I know they are because they thrive on reviews, just know I have no interest in getting into any conversations with anyone from your company, unless it's to discuss refunds. Other than that, don't waste your time calling my number or my wife's number. Back to my hot water tank, the guy who helped me out with it, he'll be the person I'll call the next time my AC fails. He went out of his way to help me out. I don't even care how much he'll charge me. I'm happy to pay a higher price for good service. read more

HOMEOWNER BEWARE RIGHT NOW PLUMBING AND HEATING installed my tankless water heater and what a NIGHTMARE it became. I'm going to list all the issues I had with this installation and why you should use CAUTION, if you proceed using them. 1. There were three employees sent to do the job the first day - the supervisor, who was always getting parts, and two employees that were in training with only one-year experience, per their own words. Website says all employees have three years' experience. 2. There were three gas leaks, to which, two of them they came back to repair. Upon discovering the third leak, I decided to hire another company, for safety concerns, to redo the entire system. The gas line had also been installed without a mandatory sediment trap, which the inspector caught. 3. The employees went to the outside of my house siding to cut two holes to run the condensate drain and TP valve. Thank goodness, the inspector had returned to check one of the gas leak repairs and saw what they were doing and put a stop to it. He advised them it was not allowed by code. 4. I was replacing a gas water heater with an electric tankless water heater. I inquired when the electrical people would be coming to put in the outlet for the tankless water heater, they said we don't have that scheduled, nor was it on the bid. They said it would be an additional $750, to which, they would split the cost. It was their error and they should have paid the difference in full, but I was so frustrated from all the issues I decided not to fight it. 5. They didn't do the proper clearances for the unit, which was a minimum of 2 inches each side. The left side had virtually zero clearance. 6. They put black gas pipe on the water line and water pipe on the gas line. Again, not legal. Right Now did send an employee back to fix this. My question is why wasn't the company doing it right the first time, without the inspector catching the violations and having them come back. 7. No shut-off valve on the expansion tank. 8. Intake/exhaust pipes weren't secured down in the ceiling for the sheetrock to attach to, which made it nearly impossible to close off the ceiling to prevent a fire from going into the attic (inspection requirement). The inspector said installers usually put a metal mesh for the sheetrock to be attached to. 9. Rinnai had told me to be sure to have the unit programmed to our higher altitude in our area when they installed it. Right Now told me the unit wasn't programmable, to which, I told them Rinnai told me they could. I ended up calling Rinnai and they instructed me how to do it. Through the instruction, Rinnai said I should have called a professional installer to program it and I told them I thought I had. FYI - Rinnai also allows programming for higher water velocity, higher heat, and programming for the thermal valve in my sink (this program was also needed for my unit to work properly, to which, they didn't do either). 10. The hot-water pipe was the proper color of red (signifying hot) upstairs, but was blue (signifying cold) down in the crawlspace. The cold-water pipe was blue upstairs and red downstairs. This means if you're downstairs doing any kind of repair you had to remember blue meant hot and red meant cold. 11. As they were finishing, I asked when they were putting the strike plates in front of the pipes. They said they weren't. I advised them it was needed to protect the pipes from drywall screws and it would be a code violation. 12. They mounted the unit so low I had to bend down to see the panel. I asked them to raise it and they said it was at code height. It was NOT! I don't like being given false information. I tried calling the owner twice, Jeff Cox, to advise him as to my discontent and left messages, to which, there was no response. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised to his non-response with how the company had performed at this point. BOTTOM LINE: I ended up contracting with ANOTHER COMPANY and having RIGHT NOW'S INSTALLATION TOTALLY REMOVED and reinstalled by the new company. where to start!! OMG this is the worst heating and cooling company ever. I've dealt with some scammer companies, but this one takes the cake. I also called the owner Jeff 7 days in a row and left him a message, no reply back. started with Jason the salesman selling us all gas Air conditioner, furnace, Hot water tank, and water filtration system costing 21k plus. wasn't happy with the installation of the filtration system. I told the install guy it wasn't what we ordered, he assured me it was, so after them being out to our house to fix the filtration 6 times, the installer said are you on irrigation?? we said no city water. he said you have the incorrect filtration system; I said I know!! so he called the office and had to explain, the salesman Jason couldn't even recall what he sold us that we had to prove what we ordered by his own quote he left was 2600.00 not 500.00 (so basically they didn't even look at the quote, knowing the cost was way different than the actual item they decided to install, Jason called back and said your correct, it was the tall whole house system. so that was brought back out and installed. wasn't 24 hours later we called Right now heating for a service call the filtration system failed, after a few more calls and having them back out, the service guy said the motor is faulty, so he had to go back and get a motor and came back out next day to replace the motor on it, so, after that it continued to work fine... when October came, we turned on the heater for the first time since June (actual all installation) we got an error code 46 & 57, they came out and we had water all over the floor, the service man emptied the water reservoir and it worked again, about 2 weeks go by and we got the error code 57, the lady that answered said we can have someone out there in 3 days, " I said 3 days my mother is 85 and has to have heat" she is disabled, we asked to talk to a manger but we were informed there was no managers on duty, and we never got a call back. without heat we had no choice but to empty the reservoir, a few days later the error code 57 pops up again and no heat in the house. SO we called again, and they had a service guy out that day. He said the water reservoir is full and he removed a couple of siphons that are in the hoses, and said this could be the problem and said he removes them, so he did, and assured us you won't have this problem again! Guess what!! next day we called Right now heating again for the exact same error code 57. woke at 1am to a very cold home and no heat. they are supposed to be here this afternoon. every time you call you get a different serviceman, never the same guy. needless to say, we will seek legal advice, anyone who is willing to make this a civil suit contact me sharibickmore@gmail.com I see all the complaints and its horrifying to think this company gets away with this. believe me when I say STAY AWAY from these guys... They charged 700 for a kitchen faucet including g the faucet which was a run of the mill. They tried to put me in a 14 yr loan which would have been 35k. Who does that. I thought it was the company I had come out last year. they weren't. I have no idea how they got my number or my information. when they showed up, I didn't recognize them. anyway, it was $58 for him to open up our unit and look at it basically. he didn't even turn our AC on. I actually have no idea if it's gonna be good when it gets hot. all he did the entire time he was here was try to sell us a new $10,000 unit and scare us into thinking ours is going to die any day. Yes, it's older- but those kind of tactics are shady and pushy. We had our AC and heater installed 4.5 years ago. Problems started last summer. Our pipes were freezing up and we had about 4-5 different techs come over and try to figure out what was wrong in a period of about 8 weeks. This summer the same issue again! I called on a Monday and had an appointment set up for Thursday of the same week from 9-12. I was home all morning and called around 12:30 to ask if anyone was still coming. I was then told someone would between 12:00-3:00. I called at 3:30 and asked if someone was coming. I was told my appointment was for Friday from 12:00-3:00 p.m. because they were short on techs. I asked why no one bothered to call me to let me know, all apologies in the book and of course I waited. Friday I called around 12:30 just to make sure someone would be coming only to find out my appointment was changed to Monday from 12:00-3:00. By this time I was livid! I asked to speak to a manager and of course to my surprise no one was available and no one was able to tell me when I could expect a call from anyone. I called about 4 more times and still was not able to get a phone call back. Knowing I will be losing my 10 year warranty, I have finally put my foot down and said, "enough is enough!" I called One Hour Heating and Air and they found the Evaporator Coil manual on top of the coil inside the heater, as well as, loose insulation covering the air flow. 1 guy, 1 time and this issue was solved by someone not in a hurry to go. We had to stop using the machine and contacted the company for assistance. They scheduled an appointment for a week later, stating that it was the earliest they could come to diagnose the problem. Even after explaining the urgency of the situation, and how hot it was without the AC, they refused to come sooner. I had a hot water heater installed. Since it was installed it has never functioned properly. First the flame was sideways and flipping off the safety switch. The technician moved the insulation and had to open up the pilot area. It improved but was still randomly switching off. The owners multiple technicians have been here. It has never been fixed. They refuse to replace it. They have blamed federal regulations and requirements on the hot water heater. Blamed dust and hay. My father had a hot water in a basement with a woodshed and poor ventilation. He had his continually run for years. Plus everytime the pilot light flips it locks so I can't do that. Now the company is charging me 49.00 with no true time go get hot water. It can be a few days up to a week. No hot water isn't considered an emergency. I have fibromyalgia and it is. Plus everytime an appointment is set up their is phone call that there isn't sufficient techs so they have no clue when someone will show up. Or a phone call the night before changing the time. And they are still late. And through all this mess now I was given a quote for 1,000.00 off for a tankless hot water heater. So I am supposes to buy not one but 2 hot water heaters in a year timeframe. Today the person who arrived to talk about options said he was going to his truck. He left without telling me. Really. I purchased a furnace from Rightnow, and I was happy with the service and the price, so when my AC stopped working I called them. Well, the repairman kept trying one thing after another and nothing worked. First, he told me that he needed to replace the capacitor for $491 (note that this part costs $14.00). He replaced it but not luck. So, In addition to the capacitor which he swore was damaged, he said I probably needed a new compressor and freon. The total was goint to run in the thousands. I asked technician to put everything back together and I called Tim Beymer at Beymer HVAC; a super honest and local business. Tim had my AC working in half hour at a costs of $180. read more

I have used right now heating and air for years. This last time was beyond ridiculous. First they claimed they don't work with home warranty. Even when all they had to do was answer a few questions to me and I would pay etc. They made it extremely difficult. Which is insane because it was business for them. Then they claimed I had to prepay for a part. I did a half down. Then the guy said that was always on the truck. Since they never sent me and invoice that they took payment I paid in full. So I paid 1 and a half times. Now they are not sending me proof they refunded and will not call back. They keep sending me the same invoice saying I paid. They also sent a technician who parked in my driveway for 20 min. Then came in and said I don't know why I am here last time I told you to get a new furnace... then he marched downstairs to the furnace without being invited down. Just right past me. It was unnerving! They did send a different technician who was great and took care of everything. But that is overshadowed by the office not being competent to help. I was sketched out by the guy marching past me to my basement. Now I am sketched out they cannot provide proof of taking the payment or the refund. read more

I would like to "thank" this company for failing to deliver a simple window unit to patch us through 100+ temperatures, after buying their story that we "needed" to replace our entire HVAC system fore a mere $11.8k We called over the course of 3 days to ask when it would arrive. On the 3rd day, a Sunday afternoon, we called another company who gave us an estimate over the phone for $2k less, and without an $80 service call. They sent a tech out, technically free of charge, to assess our situation. As soon as he looked at our AC unit, he said, "I can fix this." Turns out, we only needed minor repairs, which cost $450. My heat pump was too big for my furnace. It kept having issues as a result. A Right Now Tech came out and didnt diagnose the correct problem and quoted me 1700 more then another vendor to replace the heat pump. read more

I recently had a technician come out to "diagnose" our a/c unit not working. We were charged an $89 service fee to come out. We were told the problem was a dead fuse in the box, so okay no problem right! Apparently to replace the fuse with the "service charge" was $266.00. Just an fyi the fuse costs $27 at Home Depot. I will not ever call these crooks again or ever do business with them. Most companies dont charge to diagnose the problem. I definitely was taken advantage of and you will be too. read more
