On top of that, it had been covered in a solid stain and I wanted to bring back the natural wood grain if possible. I had one contractor come by, and they refused to quote the job, as it would be too large for their crew. The next contractor that came gave me a quote, but it was clear he didn't want to sand and strip the deck, rather preferring to just wash it and put a fresh coat on. I didn't get a good feeling about the attention to detail they would provide. Then Jim from Grand Reflection came out. He's the owner. He's the estimator. He's the lead worker. He explained all of my options and was very honest about the pros and cons to each. He didn't try to sell me the easy solution, but he didn't push the most expensive either. His communication via phone and email was impeccable. He arrived at the times he said he would arrive. If the weather was bad, I got an email or text letting me know it wasn't a good day to work on the deck, and he let me know when he expected to return. Once the contract was signed, nothing changed. His crew of two (he and one other gentleman) came daily. They arrived early and worked late. It was a two week job and he was on site for the full shift each and every day. Jim obviously takes a ton of pride in his craftsmanship. The work itself was tedious and back breaking. No detail was sacrificed. Each board needed sanded. He worked in between the boards with hand tools. Screws and nails needed sunk. He prepped and stained all visible surfaces, and the undersides, and hidden nooks and corners that nobody will ever see! When you care for the areas nobody sees, you are a class act. We are absolutely thrilled with our major deck rehab and restoration and I consider it the pride of our home.

We reached out to Wiler Fence and Nate, the owner responsed quickly providing a great solution to our project on a large slope with a competive quote. They completed the work, cleaned up everything, emailed us pictures, and sent an invoice. Talk about easy. This could not have gone smoother and we were very pleased with the results. The second was a repair on another project. This fence was already in place and one that was not installed by Wiler Fence Company. We had a leaning fence. Nate provided a quote over the phone, explaining what might need to be done. When the work was done, we called Nate to ask why we did not get an invoice even though he completed the work. Nate explained he was able to repair it without the need to replace any of the posts and there would be no charge. Wow! Needless to say, we will be recommending Wiler Fence Company to everyone we know and will using them on any future new fence installation. Joe came out, took a look what was going on, and gave me an estimate that was identical in scope but half the price of another estimate we received so we opted to go with Eames and Sons. Joe was fantastic to work with and kept me up-to-date on scheduling of the entire process, from dropping off a trailer for the old roofing materials, dropping off the new materials, the actual day of work, etc. The Eames and Sons crew came out, did the work in a single day, and then Joe came out the next day for an inspection. Joe noticed some of the work wasn't up to the Eames and Sons standards, so he had someone from the crew come back out and redo it and then came back out the same day to check on the work again. I also noticed that some of the mortar between bricks near some of the work seemed to now be missing and he came back out on his own time to fill in the gap. Eames and Sons, and specifically Joe, definitely went out of their way to make sure our roof was perfect and that I no longer needed to worry about the leak we found. This was a fantastic experience, and I would definitely recommend others use Eames and Sons for their roofing needs. EDIT: I noticed some damage to a window screen after the dump trailer was moved away. Joe fixed the screen himself and sent someone else out to take care of some of the metal around the window as well. Eames and Sons has gone above and beyond what I expected and they have set a very high bar for any work that gets done around our house in the future.

After further inspection I noticed that my porch because of getting wet attracted carpenter ants and they did a lot of damage. I learned that summit awning also does many other services. So I hired Summit awnings to repair the damage to my porch. I also asked them if they would install windows on my porch. I was very pleased with the results. Everything turned out great. My hat's off to Jason, Dawson, and the rest of the crew for doing an incredible job.
