Overpriced I went in with a simple problem of "hey will you…read moreidentify this clicking noise that just started up?" I then left it in their care expecting a call back later to tell me what it was. The call came except instead of telling me what it was they said the noise wasn't there and neither of their guys heard anything. Except at that point it was already on the lift so they could inspect it. This was Friday close to closing at this point so they kept it over the weekend. I get an invoice on Monday for $185 and a recommended service that would've added another $323. For what I wonder? Oh that's just the single hour rate plus shop supplies and tax. An hour to tell me they didn't hear the noise anymore? That would've taken 5 minutes on a test drive. That's all I wanted. I never asked for them to inspect the whole car for problems (which they did anyway). I certainly wasn't expecting to pay close to $200 for a problem that apparently went away. When I went in to pick up my car, I asked about that. I pointed out that their hourly rate was nowhere to be found and I didn't like that I was blindsided by it after the fact. The owner told me to look on his website. I already had. Just to make sure after I got home, I looked again. Still no mention of the hourly rate anywhere on the website and certainly nowhere to be found in the lobby. This would be a completely different story had they actually found the noise that I'd been hearing and completely different yet again if they'd actually posted their hourly rate. I was fully expecting to pay them for identifying the sound, that's not the problem here. They just straight up didn't do that and instead did extra work and charged me for it. Should I have been clear that if for some reason the noise didn't happen anymore that I just wanted a call back to come pick up my car? Probably. I just didn't at all see that as a possibility because I'd looked and hadn't seen anything super obvious and yet the noise persisted across multiple times turning the car on and off and driving at various speeds. Both of our faults? Maybe. But clear communication earlier in the process would have been awesome.

It happened to be Saturday afternoon of Labor Day weekend. We were able to "limp" in to our RV spot at Hill AFB Fam Camp and get set up. That evening I discovered that you could describe your problems on Yelp and that there were businesses who would contact you about the problem. I did this and Jensen Auto Service got back to me immediately, but said that they wouldn't be able to get to it for about a week and a half. I thanked them for their time via message and looked elsewhere. On Tuesday morning I got a call from them saying that if it wasn't a complete transmission replacement that they would be able to get to it that week. I "limped" the truck over to their shop and even though I didn't use the service, they offered to chauffer me around to get transportation while they worked on my truck. By midmorning on Wednesday, they had the problem diagnosed, and had a prospectus in my hands. I put them to work immediately and I picked up the truck on Friday afternoon. The cost was FAR less than I was expecting and they made sure to communicate all of the ins and outs of the replacement parts. They went so far as to make certain that I knew to contact them about warranty issues if I had to take it to a certified NAPA dealer with problems during the warranty period. They did a stem to stern inspection and brought up several issues that I would need to take care of when I got back home. What could have been absolutely disastrous turned out to be nothing more than a blip on the radar of life. This is a repair business that I wish I had in my area so that I could make them the permanent caretaker of my vehicles. If you need help, this is the place to go. If it was possible to give them six or seven stars, I would do it in a heartbeat.

Sean didn't tell me he was mad but instead he tried to guilt trip me into believing I made the wrong decision and that I should've financed my car through his dealer ship. When he knew I had no clue about buying a car he was quick to give me a military discount. When he realized I did some research, went back to look at another vehicle that I really liked! Because he knew I financed through the credit union, he was no longer interested in giving me a military discount! Shame on him in my opinion and the business he keeps.
