Stopped in for lunch this weekend and had another great experience at Right Brain. The pricing is a bit high but that seems to be the case everywhere these days.

Loved this brewery and that it's slightly on the outskirts of the busy downtown strip. It's huge so good for large parties and you definitely won't be bored with all the pinball machines and games available. Staff was chill and friendly. Lots of beer, non-beer and mocktail options with some food too. Great spot for a hanging with friends!

Great beer, wonderful staff, and the atmosphere is so unique. Love all the art and the pinball machines are so fun.

Lots of pinball machines, some great older games.

Large selection of beers on tap including seasonal and rotating beers. Flights also available. We had a flight of four IPAs and thought they were quite tasty but not exceptional. Nice size glasses to really taste the beers. The server was helpful, friendly and attentive. Really cool vibe in the building; open with multiple seating choices for couples and groups. Seemed very family friendly and many younger people were enjoying the pinball games.

As many times as we come to TC, we've never ventured to right brain. A little off the beaten path, but we'll worth the trip. Great beer selection, outdoor seating, AND there is a huge arcade inside. Service was great, and there's plenty of space for larger groups. Will be back!

SERVICE:5 FOOD QUALITY:N/A DRINK QUALITY:5 ORDER TIME:5 AESTHETICS:6 NOISE LEVEL:5 MENU SELECTION:5 OVERALL EXPERIENCE: 5.17 So, first of all, this is the first place I've ever reviewed that was higher than a 5 star. This place is just something else. Service, beer and aesthetics, they have something special over there. We stopped in here for our kayak, bike and brew tour. As you walk in you're welcomed with this super fun, and exciting design of arcade games, table games, Star Wars and many more pop culture decors. We went to the bar, and got the two flights. The flight is massive so probably wise to share with someone. The server was amazing. She explained every drink, and even gave her recommendations. With two flights we tried almost everything. Some of our favorites were naughty girl, and schrute farms. We were definitely a little tipsy after this visit. Made our bike ride, a little, more adventurous afterwards. Good beer is good beer, but good beer with amazing service is better than good beer. We had such a good time. This place is a very special. I honestly wish this place was in Grand Rapids because it would be my normal hang out. Overall this place can't get any better. Even their apparel is on point. If you're into beer then look no further.

Beer was on point!! the service from the staff very welcoming we had a great time there and what a unique place. First time visit there and Ashley and the crew took great care of us the Brain Boozled was our favorite beer. Just over all great experience. will definitely go back again next trip up there

A flight of six 6oz pours at Right Brain Brewing in Traverse City, MI.

In an area of hit or miss breweries, I found Right Brain to be one of Traverse City's hits. My wife and I visited TC the first week of May, hoping to do some hiking and visit local breweries. Unfortunately, the weather was awful, so we spent much of our time hopping from one taproom to the next (with a couple wineries thrown in). Right Brain certainly lives up to its name -- wildly creative. The taproom is large, spacious and full of vintage arcade games, making it even more colorful and loud. Perhaps it's all the stimulation that makes it a fun space to be, and we weren't surprised to see kids there playing games along with their parents. The tap list was equally creative and almost overwhelming to take in, with a variety of styles running the gamut across four TV screens. Flight boards of six 6oz pours run $19. My wife and I got a flight each. Standouts included Social Probation Hazy, Spinal Crusher Double IPA, Cherry Bomb Cherry Cream Ale and Comma Sutra Imperial Cream Ale. If ever in Traverse City again, Right Brain is one brewery I'd be eager to visit again and would recommend to others.

Obsessed with the warehouse vibe inside Right Brain Brewery

Huge tasty beer selection. I was disappointed in the food menu lack of choices so I had to go to another brewery to find dinner.

The slight cherry tang invthe bbq sauce created a very appetizing taste. The wings were cooked perfectly and I highly enjoyed them. I ordered the Pork Chop dinner ($29). It came with mashed potatoes and a cucumber corn medley. They both were very good. North Peak Brewing makes their own Root Beer. Honestly that why I chose to come here. Thankfully the Root Beer was excellent. The service was friendly, but not very efficient. I think they are short staffed because the bar tender was also my waiter and he was busy bartendering! Overall I still rate this a 5 star review. The Wings, Pork Chop, and Root Beer were all excellent and I would return for any of them. So yes I would Return.

When we got there, the hostess warned us that the pizzas were taking up to an hour to make. I appreciate that they warned us before we committed to dining there! We didn't mind the wait. There are no waiters, so you order everything at the bar then they bring your food to you with a table number. I ordered the raspberry beer and it was really good. I typically don't like beer, but I love fruit flavors. As an appetizer, we got the red pepper hummus and it was meh--I didn't really like it. It was thick and had the texture of cold refried beans and instead of pita, it was served with tortilla chips that tasted like Tostitos brand. For my flatbread pizza, I chose the Wolverine which was topped with pineapple, pepperoni, jalapeños. I've never had pineapple on pizza so I can't really be a good judge, but it was alright. I liked how thin the crust was. For dessert, we got the mini ice cream bars as recommended by the woman sitting near us. They're Ice Box Brand Ice Cream Bars by a Michigan-based company. They sell two sizes: regular and mini. I chose a mini toffee crunch and it was the perfect size. It was really good. I'd love to just buy these ice cream bars to have at home!!

"Do you need something?"…read more I walked in on a Tuesday, just before the dinner rush. There were a few customers there already, some sitting at the bar, others placing to-go orders, and some scattered tables. In evaluating the relaxed pace of the two young ladies behind the bar and one the floor, this was not their busy time. I sat at the bar, looking at their beer menu on the wall and compared to their online descriptions, trying to decide what I'd like to try. Several minutes passed without acknowledgment from either staff members. No napkin, no "I'll be with you in a sec!" that's typical of any establishment. I am not inexperienced with restaurant operations; this was uncomfortably unusual behavior. As if I wasn't welcome there for some reason. Finally, after enough time had passed to where I was contemplating just leaving, one of them finally looked at me while she was walking by and uttered that phrase. I was so caught off-guard that I stammered while asking for a flight. I picked the four that interested me, she poured them, then left. No engagement, no conversation about the beers, nothing typical of a brewery proud of its product. The attitude reminded me of another metro Detroit brewery's snobbish standoffishness. Like how they're xenophobic about anyone who isn't a regular but how does one become a regular if they don't welcome you in the first place? After other customers came in, sat near me at the bar, were obviously also first-timers, immediately welcomed with menus and told of the dinner specials, that's when I knew. I was not welcome there. And the only reason I can surmise is my appearance. My behavior wasn't it (and I'm familiar enough with reactions to Internet reviews that are atypical to immediately blame the reviewer instead of considering uncomfortable possibilities). I was received brusquely, not offered a food menu, and only got one check-in -- again, unusual behavior for a brewery and I've been to countless ones around the country. It struck me that my last experience with implicit bias was also in the Traverse City region. I hated to admit the possibility but the anecdotal evidence was clear. I imagine that if I'd been a White man in a collared shirt and chinos, my experience may have been different. Obviously, I can't prove it and if there's an owner response to this review, it'll be full of cliches about how this isn't who or what they are, etc. The establishments in downtown are far more welcoming, so it was a relief when my fellow conference attendees mercifully texted me to say where they were going for dinner. I paid my bill with a modicum of a tip and resolved to strike Stone Hound from my list. For the rest of my business trip, I spread my money instead to places that didn't treat me like an unwanted outsider. Plenty of them in TC, including another brewery in town.
