During the recent call, the representative mentioned that they inquire about the marital status of male clients and request the presence of a "wife" during quotes. I find it disappointing if this assumes all clients are heterosexual, and I raised this concern during our conversation. While I personally doubt the accuracy of this practice, it's based on my own observations and experience speaking with the rep. Additionally, I was addressed as "Mrs. F***" during our second call, reflecting another assumption about my personal details. I clarified that I did not take my husband's last name. The representative also disclosed that my initial call was recorded, implying that calls are recorded without explicit consent. While recording one-party consent is legal in NY, best practices suggest informing customers of recording at the beginning of a call. Regardless, I hope the recorded call aids the company in learning and improving. I am disappointed in the overall customer service experience, especially considering the company's positive reputation for roofing and siding work. There could have been a more constructive and respectful approach to addressing my feedback. It is disheartening that instead of reviewing and evaluating my feedback, the company's immediate response involved legal threats. In my opinion, successful businesses actively listen to customer feedback to enhance their services over time. My suggestion is to embrace feedback constructively rather than resorting to legal threats or confrontational communication, as this can inadvertently escalate situations. Edited Review: I am currently renovating an investment property in Suffolk, handling the interior work with my sister, who is also a carpenter. We sought to outsource the exterior work. Within 30 seconds of my first call with this company, I was asked about my marital status. I mentioned having a husband, after which I was informed that a meeting would need to be scheduled when my husband is present. Unfortunately, no questions were asked about the project or decision-makers. In reality, if anyone should be present, it is my sister, who is my project partner. The company's assumptions, which felt sexist to me, prompted this review. This experience led me to question if the company would similarly request the presence of a wife for male clients. This is response to the one star review. There were ten apartments close to the job, split between the 3-family house that got the roof and two neighboring buildings. Nine apartments worth of occupants were delighted to see the roof get done, and chatted nice with the crew. No issues. One apartment occupant was quite emotional, in a bad way, not sure why. No amount of apologies seemed to work. The houses are quite close together, separated only by a driveway. The crew scrambled down 3 stories to move ladder from driveway each time the other reviewer came into sight, but that seems not to have been good enough. No offers to wash car etc were accepted. Other neighbors were fine with parking in street while the job was underway. Everyone else is glad to see improvements to the houses we live in. For the claim that roofing specialists are all illegals, this is a sorry political slur, and I wont get involved with that sort of thing here. I can say each person on the crew is a bright happy person who works very hard for their company. Nice people. We got the permit and the inspection was fine. AAA+. The best contractor we have ever worked with. Precision and quality workmanship at its best. We replaced our old vinyl siding, gutters and leaders, 4 new basement windows, new stonework on porch and garage and replaced a old sliding door with a new window. Maxwell and his crew were on time each day and were courteous and professional. They go out of their way to please you. Our house is the best looking house on the block. Many of our neighbors came over and commented how beautiful our house looked and how they admired the workers and workmanship. Everything is upfront and above board. Communication with Maxwell was wonderful. He was on the job personally each day to check progress and make sure we were happy. I recommend this company highly. I've had leak problems with poorly installed skylights on my roof for years. Over the years, multiple roofers have tried resealing, patching,re-flashing etc., and several others refused to even try, proclaiming the situation hopeless.This brought me Max, a personal friend recommended, and had nothing but wonderful things to say. We had a storm on Sept. 2nd which created a leak in our master bedroom. Later the same month, things escalated when a very heavy downpour hit us and the leak became huge. I called an insurance adjuster and set things in motion. A friend of mine used Right Angle Roofing & Siding and was very happy with his experience. Maxwell stopped by and we went over everything. My husband and I bought a very old farmhouse and needed a roof badly. I received estimates from several roofers and all were shocked at the extent of the job needed. Max, the owner of Right Angle came, and put us at ease and offered an affordable estimate. The roof was done in 2 days. He also redid some of our chimney work on our second house on the property, as well as putting in vents on our chicken coop. Right Angle was recommended to me from a co-worker. When Maxwell came over he immediately climbed up on the roof for a complete inspection. My house being 100 years old had 3 layers of roofing materials that desperately needed to be replaced. My insurance company was putting the squeeze on me to get it done or face cancellation.
