I was moving to…read moreBrooklyn for the next two years and insurance for my car was going to be ridiculous, so I got the great idea to store it in Maine until the two years were up. I took my car to the storage unit and we tried to fit it in but no luck. Chandra apologized profusely and worked with me about half an hour after their closing time (in the rain) to figure out a solution. She decided to hold onto the vehicle until one of their other units opened up, with no charge to me, and move the vehicle into the unit for me. I know, I know - this should be expected. But how often do you get excellent service when you really should? So they called a few days later (I was already in Brooklyn) to let me know my car was in a unit and I could come pick up the keys. I had to be in Maine for business again the next week, so I arrived around 7:30 because I had to be to work at 8am, not realizing they don't open until 8am. One woman that worked there (I am sorry I don't know her name) showed up around 7:45 am and opened the doors for me. She recognized me even though I had never met her and asked if I wanted my spare key back. I told her I needed to get my car serviced and asked if I could leave my rental car at their office until I could get a ride back to pick it up. They said it was not a problem, to leave my car as long as necessary. It is so hard to get good service now, even when you expect that you should get it. I have no complaints about Broadway Self Storage, they have amazing customer service.

Allison is a real gem and the location is excellent. Two things saddened me. 1. The units are NOT fully sealed. Rodents can and do access and foul anything that could provide a warm nest. Much was lost unnecessarily - I could not figure out what the insurance policy ever covers.....Seems like a slush fund for someone.... 2. While my monthly rent has steadily increased, I learned from "neighbors" that they are paying $100 less/month for the same size unit! It appears that one must be vigilant and prepared to move when longevity is not rewarded but penalized. I would guess that my unit #18 will be offered to a new tenant for much less than I was paying.

We were concerned about a container getting moisture in it, but Abco delivered 2 that had ventilation built into it which worked great. When we opened it up it up, there wasn't a bit of smell at all and everything was in great shape. Jim, delivered the 2 containers to my property in October, got them leveled out since my property has bit of a slope perfectly, so they easily opened & closed. You may rent one, or more, for as long as you wish on a monthly basis. We will relocate empty units to another part of the yard or to a new site (e.g. construction job sites) if required. Abco Rental & Storage, Inc can load the your mobile storage unit with the doors facing toward or away from the cab. Our truck will back up to the location and the mobile storage unit will slide off the back as the truck pulls forward. For this reason, about 50 feet is required to drop a 20 foot mobile storage container and 100 feet is needed for a 40 foot mobile storage container.
