I can't recommend European Autocare and One Stop Shop highly enough…read more I was first introduced to European Autocare when AAA towed my Porsche Cayenne there after a strange issue where the audio system kept shutting down and draining the battery. The AAA driver recommended the shop, and I'm so glad he did. George, the owner, is a genuinely kind and honest gentleman. He spent about 20 minutes carefully diagnosing the problem and told me, very transparently, that it wasn't something his shop could fix--that I would need to go to the dealer for a replacement part. He didn't charge me a dime for his time. That level of honesty is rare. Since then, I've been going to him for regular maintenance on my older vehicle, and every experience has been excellent. The team is consistently professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. Pricing has always been fair--no pressure, no upselling, and absolutely no price gouging. Recently, I needed help with a bumper issue on another car and found out George also runs a body shop in San Marcos. Even though they're normally closed on weekends, he made a special exception to meet me there. When I asked if I could pick up the car at his Rancho Bernardo location after the repair, he didn't hesitate to accommodate. On top of that, my car was extremely low on gas, and he told me not to worry about it--he'd take care of it so I could get back without any issues. That kind of above-and-beyond service truly earns lifelong customers. It's rare to find an auto shop that combines honesty, skill, fairness, and genuine care for customers. George and his team set the standard. I wholeheartedly recommend European Autocare in Rancho Bernardo and One Stop Shop in San Marcos.

I was disappointed Johnny did not point out the hood was scratched, so I had to go to the owner, George to get that repaired. The repair took a long time for a simple item then the car was damaged. When I complained they were not easy to deal with. Repair #2 Valve Gasket Covers on my 2005 ML500 $780. The job was done in less than a day, but when the car came back it smelled of gas so badly I called European Auto Care back but was advised they would not be able to review the problem for at least a week. The recently repaired valve cover still leaks, my new mechanic found a stripped screw among the at least five (5) loose screws - whilst re-securing the cover. European Auto Care needs to address some important issues.

A couple of days ago, I called to ask about my tires. The gentleman who answered did not identify himself, which is unusual since basic customer service is to greet and introduce yourself. I explained my situation, and he gave a long explanation about my vehicle -- information I already knew, but I let him finish. I wasn't satisfied with the answer, so I called back today and asked to speak with the manager. That's when I learned that Gil was actually the manager. Right away, he launched into the same explanation the foreman had given me. Each time I tried to speak, he interrupted and talked over me. I stayed quiet so he could finish, then calmly explained that my tires should still be under warranty. I'm a loyal customer and have been coming here for years, yet he showed zero interest in helping me. Instead, he continued speaking over me and dismissing everything I said. I became so overwhelmed that I hung up. I called back after collecting myself and told him he had been rude. I told him that I hoped his daughters -- if he has any -- would never be spoken to the way he spoke to me. I said I would file a complaint and leave a review so other young women would know what to expect. He denied everything and said all calls are recorded. Funny enough, during the second call, he stayed silent -- then claimed he was doing so to "let me talk." He suddenly said, "I would fight for you and get the best deal possible." But he never mentioned that during the first call, which tells me he was backtracking. This interaction left me feeling emotionally drained and disrespected. Bad days happen -- but speaking to customers, especially young women, in such a condescending, dismissive way is unacceptable. I am shocked that Firestone allows someone who communicates like this to manage a location. I will not be returning. This was genuinely one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I left the call in tears. Something feels extremely off about the way this place is being run. **Gil, if you're reading this, I hope you take this feedback seriously. You sounded extremely frustrated on the phone, and the way you spoke to me was unprofessional.**

Select German Car Service - A Hidden Gem for Porsche Owners…read more Tired of the endless wait times and lack of transparency at local Porsche dealerships, I decided to explore other options for a simple oil change. I took a chance and posted a project on Yelp, hoping to find a shop that could treat my car with the respect it deserves. After reviewing responses and chatting with a few contenders, I landed on Select German Car Service--and I'm so glad I did. From the moment I arrived, I knew I'd made the right choice. Max, the owner, greeted me warmly, and the technician, Mel was clearly someone who understood the value of a well-loved Porsche. The shop itself was immaculate--organized, professional, and filled with stunning Porsches of every model, color, and vintage. It felt more like a showroom than a garage. What truly impressed me was the care and attention to detail. The technician covered my seats, opened doors and the hood with precision, and handled my car like it was his own. That level of respect is rare--and deeply appreciated. While my car was being serviced, I took a scenic 1.5-mile walk to Better Buzz Coffee for a little exercise and a fantastic cup of coffee. By the time I returned, my Porsche was parked, gleaming, and ready to hit the road. She looked just as gorgeous as when I dropped her off--and purred like a dream on the freeway. No upselling. No drama. Just honest, professional service at a fair price. I'll absolutely be returning for future work on my other German vehicle. Huge thanks to Max and the team at Select German Car Service--you've earned a loyal customer.

Less than 2,000 miles ago, during an oil change, I specifically asked them to check my brakes and was told they "looked good." After recently hearing metal-on-metal, I brought the car back and was told I needed new brakes and rotors. Only then was I informed the brakes had not actually been inspected because the tires couldn't be removed--something that was never communicated at the time. For context, this same shop replaced my brake pads and rotors less than 20,000 miles ago, which makes this situation even more concerning. I was quoted $900 for the repair. I got a second opinion and found a more reasonably priced and transparent shop. This raised serious concerns about whether I was being properly advised in the first place. When I declined the repair, I was told the vehicle could not be taken unless it was towed, requiring me to arrange and pay for a tow just to retrieve my own car. Given that this involves a critical safety system that I specifically asked to be checked, the lack of communication is unacceptable. After years of trusting this shop with my vehicles, this experience showed a clear lack of transparency and accountability. Lesson learned. I will be reporting this. Do not go here.
