I brought in my Honda Ridgeline for an issue with my AC. Jason worked with me at the front-desk and went above and beyond to understand my issue and the troubleshooting I had already done. He explained to me CONCISELY what the feasible issue may be, and how they were going to approach a diagnosis. Jason was extremely knowledgeable, and followed up promptly to discuss the fix. Pedro was also exceptional. He found the issue (rodent-chewed wires) and repaired it perfectly. When I picked up my car, he was as excited as I was to have helped me. Before Miramar Auto, I took my truck to the Honda dealer, and they charged twice as much for a diagnosis, only to tell me that I would need a new compressor (incorrect diagnosis) and that it would cost twice as much as I ended up paying out the door at Miramar auto. I couldn't believe how easy Miramar Auto made it. To say that Jason, Pedro, and Miramar Auto are honest, fair, and made me feel taken care of... would be an understatement. They have rightfully earned another lifelong customer. Thank you Miramar Auto!

Wife and I communicated to Miramar Auto Repair first thing Monday to help us do the calibration. Plans changed so we rescheduled for Tuesday. That reschedule got us a different sales representative. He thought we needed a simple brake flush. This miscommunication lead to a 1-hour appointment with a $200+ bill for a service I already did to the car and the original problem wasn't solved. After some problem-solving and listening to the recorded phone call, we found where the miscommunication was. There's nothing better than a shop who listens to their customers, understands exactly what they need, and executes. Miramar Auto Repair did exactly that once we talked it out and removed the charge for the flush. I was out in 10 minutes after the calibration and am very happy with the end result. Thank you! I have found my trusted shop now.

Nine years ago, I bought a used, very popular everyday basic car that is known to easily surpass…read more200,000 miles in its lifetime. and requires minimal maintenance. When I bought this previously owned car from a branded dealership, I also bought free oil changes for the life of the car in my life. Each year when I get the oil changed (I don't drive a whole lot), the dealership's service department is obviously obligated to tell me what needs immediate attention, which I typically decline. The most recent time, they reported a total front and back brake and rotor replacement and all the typical fluids. Brake job quoted at about $1500, On my way home from the dealer oil change, I stopped at a phenomenal auto mechanic shop I'd been referred to by a friend for a second opinion. They quoted me $700 IF I actually needed the brakes and rotors replaced. It turns out I have about 40% of my brakes STILL fine, and I did not need the fluids the dealership said I did. Yes, I know the dealership is always more costly. That's one thing. It's another thing not to even need the service they were saying was imminent. So, not only did I not spend $1500, I also did not spend $700 or anything at all! This is now the third time I have attempted to pay this mechanic for something I was told by the dealership was crucial to address immediately. Every time, the mechanic said it was not needed at all. I cannot speak highly enough of this auto mechanic shop. And wait until you see their name: Miramar Honest & Accurate Auto Center II. They completely live up to it. It's a family-owned business that walks the talk. They also use a first-come-first-served approach. No appointments. And it works! It's near Miramar Rd. near the military base and worth the ride. I've met people from Encinitas and Carmel Valley there who have been bringing their car to this auto mechanic shop for years. There really ARE honest people around. The people in this business prove it with every breath they take. Miramar Honest & Accurate Auto Center II 9491 Black Mountain Road San Diego, CA 92126 858-689-9800

Select German Car Service - A Hidden Gem for Porsche Owners…read more Tired of the endless wait times and lack of transparency at local Porsche dealerships, I decided to explore other options for a simple oil change. I took a chance and posted a project on Yelp, hoping to find a shop that could treat my car with the respect it deserves. After reviewing responses and chatting with a few contenders, I landed on Select German Car Service--and I'm so glad I did. From the moment I arrived, I knew I'd made the right choice. Max, the owner, greeted me warmly, and the technician, Mel was clearly someone who understood the value of a well-loved Porsche. The shop itself was immaculate--organized, professional, and filled with stunning Porsches of every model, color, and vintage. It felt more like a showroom than a garage. What truly impressed me was the care and attention to detail. The technician covered my seats, opened doors and the hood with precision, and handled my car like it was his own. That level of respect is rare--and deeply appreciated. While my car was being serviced, I took a scenic 1.5-mile walk to Better Buzz Coffee for a little exercise and a fantastic cup of coffee. By the time I returned, my Porsche was parked, gleaming, and ready to hit the road. She looked just as gorgeous as when I dropped her off--and purred like a dream on the freeway. No upselling. No drama. Just honest, professional service at a fair price. I'll absolutely be returning for future work on my other German vehicle. Huge thanks to Max and the team at Select German Car Service--you've earned a loyal customer.
