On my trip a few months ago, I decided to stay at this rifugio. It's one of the few that opens slightly sooner than the rest. The special shuttle stops at their lower parking lot. They specifically call it a shuttle because the regional bus passes doesn't work on it and it cost 15 euros. Since there are no other park fees, I think they just built in the cost of the park entrance to it (private cars have to pay 25 euros to get in).
Since I was early in the season (early June), I got a room to myself which normally fits 6 people. I think it would be a little claustrophobic if there were 6 of us in that room. There's not much extra room for bags, etc. I do like how they require you to take off your shoes before going on the dorm area, that makes the floor cleaner.
There's a bathroom for each floor and big dining area on the first floor. When you pay for your room, you have the option of ordering breakfast or half board (dinner & breakfast). I decided to order half board and that was a slight mistake. They gave SO MUCH food for dinner, it could easily feed 2. The food was very good though and the views are jaw droppingly AMAZING! read more
