I recently stayed in this mountain hut on a 6 day Alpine Crossing. I would definitely rate this as one of the better mountain huts I have stayed in. The sleeping accommodation was comfortable, the washroom facilities adequate and spotlessly clean, the food and service good and friendly in spite of the fact that the hut was hopelessly overful. The hut is designed for max 250 guests and had to accommodate 390 on the night. Under mountain rules no hiker can be turned away. Under the circumstances the staff did a great job. Needless to say the scenery is breathtaking and well worth the climb from Oberstdorf which took us about 4 hours. read more
