First stepped in and it was full so we walked down to another restaurant where we sat for 10 minutes waiting for menus and finally left after the table that came in after us got served first. Walked back down to galley and there was now a table open. As we waited to be served we realized what a mess this place is. They take walk in take out orders, serve in the restaurant and serve at a walk up window. Mass confusion. We waited an hour for a burger, chicken club wrap and a kids chicken fingers. Horrible service. Our server kept saying sorry although refused to knock anything off the bill and the food far below average. Wouldn't mind the wait if the food was decent. It wasn't. Would never go back.

This is a quaint location and the proprietress shares the space with an antique shop. Reservations are a must. It's got that old world vibe, with lace tablecloths and mismatched but fine China tea cups. They use Mighty Tea tea and have a great selection of herbal as well as black tea. The full tea runs about $30 per person and comes with a good sized pot of tea, 2 scones with cream and Jam, a selection of dainty cakes and squares plus cucumber/cream cheese, egg salad, tuna salad, and cherry cream cheese sandwich triangles. Vibe is conducive to good conversation. Service is friendly and knowledgeable. Open Wed to Sat - 11am to 4 pm. You can make a reservation online at their website.

They had ground veal readily available which was wonderful. They had frozen turkeys, Hans etc for Christmas. Also they had some imported items in for Christmas ( even imported UK fruitcake!!) They do have a butcher counter for deli, cheeses etc Ample parking nearby.

Lovely little bakery in Thamesville near the BMO on London Road…read more Owner was there and very friendly and knowledgeable. Wonderful scones, squares and tarts. My fave was the Raspberry Butter Tart but the lemon poppyseed scone was fantastic too. Hubby said that the Chocolate Cherry scone was wonderful. All kinds of squares and brownies. Oh and the sourdough bread is fantastic (toasted it's heavenly too). Thinking French toast is next. They had a variety of flavours plus baguettes and bread rolls. The cinnamon buns looked outstanding. (Next time). FYI they also provide their baked goods to the coffee kiosk at The Glasshouse in Chatham if you can't get out to Thamesville. The owner was so nice and incredible and had a conversation with us about the area and some of the history. You have to stop here you will not be disappointed.
