We discussed what I wanted done today, gave me a quote and got right to work. I decided to have the immediate leak fixed but we talked about what he would like to do to update the antique plumbing attached to a very old double cellar sink and fixtures. He updated the washing machine plumbing and he said he would send me an estimate for the rest of the work which I would love to have updated. I loved what he did and what he would like to see updated. He was done quicker than I expected and I said I would let him know about the further updating of demo of sink etc. He was wonderful and he made me feel like he really cared about what I was dealing with health wise with the old plumbing. Yes, I know my water heater is leaking, thanks. They ghosted me, so I wasted no time and tried calling Hilltop. Steve came out the very next day to take a look, and there was no charge. On the spot, he got on the horn with Lisa and they priced out a new one, and sent me the estimate and invoice for a deposit. Rich and his team of three came out the following day and completed the job in under an hour. Clean and professional work! What really impressed me, was that after I had written them a cheque and they left, Lisa called me back not long after, apologizing for overcharging me! They corrected the invoice and so I was not overcharged. Honesty says a lot about people who run a business. Great team. Definitely working with them again.

American Mechanical & Plumbing was recommended by someone on a local community Facebook page so I contacted him by phone. He was very easy to talk to and he confirmed my suspicions about the old well line being no good. He recommended trying to lay a temporary poly line above ground but given the distance and grade it just wouldn't work but it wasn't from lack of trying. Jeff and his partner tried for a few hours with no luck and then only charged us for the fittings. Fast forward a week and we had another great guy doing all the excavation and he and Jeff linked up and came up with a plan to get water back on. Excavation guy did his thing and then this morning (July 12th) he showed up and had everything connected and water flowing in two hours. He came up with the idea to ditch our old shallow well jet pump and put a pump in the well with a 20 gallon pressure tank in our basement. What an upgrade. We really can't recommend him enough. Based on their web-site ad and some reviews, I talked to this company about a maintenance-cleaning…read moreof our heat pump units. I told Bill, the office coordinator, that we have three indoor units and one outdoor unit (the condenser). He said that the total would be $385, but since I'm a new customer there would be a $100 discount, making the total $285 - his words. I agreed to these terms. At no time during our conversation was a figure of $485 uttered by him, something I would not have accepted, even with the discount. And yet, the invoice that I received two days after service completion (about 2 hours' work by one technician) asked for $485 minus the $100 discount, plus a fuel surcharge of $7.50. I called to complain that this was not the agreed-upon amount, but Bill simply denied having made that offer. But I know what I heard him clearly say. Lesson learned - never accept an unwritten quote! The work done was underwhelming - acceptable, but more or less perfunctory without much oral communication about the state of the system. I would recommend anyone needing this service to shop around and get everything in writing before agreeing to the terms. I will not be a continuing customer.
