The older gentleman right up front was so nice to everyone that walked in and was very efficient at pointing them in the right direction. I had about a 10 minute wait for my number to be called, so I had no choice but to listen to him since I was sitting right by his desk. Not once did he ever falter even a little bit when giving answers to questions he was asked. When my number was finally called, a younger gentleman handled the transfer of my license. He was extremely nice and appropriately chatty during pauses between taking and entering my information into the system. My past experience with licensing is that it is usually a process that takes a few hours of dealing with people that hate their jobs. This maybe took about 45 minutes max and the staff here that I encountered was very pleasant. I thought it was a little weird that you handle all of the paperwork/payment at one station, then go to another station to have your photo taken, and then get a temporary (paper) driver's license, only to wait for your official driver's license to be mailed within the next 30 days. I have always gotten the official one the same day, but I suppose this is how they can get people in and out of there in a reasonable amount of time. So I'll take it.

Absolutely the worst Customer Service ever! these two ladies this morning were like grumpy bears…read morethat were sitting behind their computers when I got there and no customers at that. I immediately walked up and said good morning to both of them and I did not even get an acknowledgment of my greeting which I thought was very odd. One lady then said "can I help you"? she asked two questions I answered both of them and handed her the money that i owed. She handed me my registration and my new tab. I then stood up to leave, I turned around and even said that they were very unwelcoming and when a customer greets you the least you can do is reply back versus flat out ignore, and told them both they really should at-least greet customers when they arrive and if they can't do that at-least reply if the customer greets them, the one lady literally looked up at me shrugged her shoulder, opened her eyes big and said "sorry" in a very "unsorry tone"the other lady looked over at her and again silence from both. I told them I would never be back as their fortunately are other locations that I can take my business too and will definitely be writing a review, and oh, no response from either of them. So as I was leaving the guy at the front of the store (this licensing place is in the back of an ace hardware store) wished me a nice day. Here I am in his store not giving them any business and he wishes me a good day but the folks I did give my business too couldn't even respond to my warm greeting I gave upon my arrival. Coincidentally as I was walking to my car a lady that parked next to me was walking into the store next door that I met a few years ago and we chatted for a few minutes and I told her the story and she said that she herself had an unpleasant experience there before and takes her business to Hazel Dell. She then said her daughter in law won't go there either.

First, this is NOT a full service, but does preform a large selection of services. Some need appointments. I have used this location for temp plates, renewing tags, new plates, and asking questions. Only once did I have to wait because there were two people being helped. Each time I have spent no more than 15 minutes in the office and had why I needed. Last time I was there, the office staff was helping a person that was upset they would t help her, but they didn't perform that service at this location. They kept demanding the staff do it. Staff stayed calm and repeated (many times) that they can't and letting them know they needed additional documentation for the other location to do it. Eventually, the person were told to leave in a louder voice. About to go to this location on a Saturday as they open for a plate for a new to us car. Let you know how it goes...nope, hasn't opened after COVID, yet.

Today's experience was exceptional. Because I walk with a cane and have trouble with my spine putting tabs on my car can be a pain. Very disappointing experience…read more We've always used this office for our car tabs and appreciated the cute atmosphere and usually easy service. Unfortunately, our recent experience registering a used vehicle purchased from a private party was so frustrating that none of us will be returning. We followed the instructions given to us, received a checklist, and even called ahead to confirm we had everything needed and whether the seller needed to be present. We were assured we were prepared, only to arrive after spending hours driving around gathering paperwork and be told we were missing a required form. When we questioned why we hadn't been told about it, there was no concern or willingness to help resolve the situation. We returned the following morning with the seller, as instructed, only to be told that the seller's wife also had to be present to sign. This was directly contrary to what we had repeatedly been told. All of us were left stunned by the conflicting information, the employee's attitude, and the complete lack of an apology or accountability. We understand that paperwork requirements can be complicated, but customers should be able to rely on the information provided by the people handling their transactions. A little courtesy, accurate instructions, and taking responsibility for mistakes would have made a world of difference. It's especially disappointing to walk away from a business we've trusted for years feeling this way. They've lost not only our business but also the seller's.

I've been taking cars to Orchards since my next door neighbor recommended them about 15 years ago…read more In that time I've taken 6 different vehicles to them and have had very good experiences. One thing I've come to like is that they really seem to want to get my vehicles working at the lowest cost to me. Here are a couple of examples: 1. We have a 30 year old F150 that we use for farm work mostly. At some point the brake light started sticking. You had to put your foot under the brake pedal and pull up on it to get the light to turn off. During an oil change at a large national chain, I asked about a fix and was given a quote of several hundred dollars (taking apart a lot of stuff, replacements, etc.). Not liking that idea given the minimal use, I took it to Orchards (with the quote I had been given). They said yes, that would probably fix it, but suggested that they just hit the brake pedal assembly with a lot of spray lube and see if that does the trick. It's been working for two years now and they didn't charge me. 2. I have a new GM vehicle that started throwing a bunch of check engine codes. I took it into Orchards and the codes came up with very generic descriptions that didn't really help them focus on a specific problem (an increasing problem these days). While they had a number of possible leads (all involving expensive diagnosis work), they ultimately suggested that I try taking the car to the dealer and press for warranty repairs since the codes could potentially impact emissions systems (covered by a much longer warranty). That ended up working and saved me a ton of money. Hopefully, now that manufacturers have agreed to fully share codes no later than the 2018 model year, this problem will go away. But I really liked that they acknowledged when they ran into a code diagnosis dead end and suggested a possible solution that saved me money. On a note relating to some other reviews. When I started with Orchards, Loren Sr. ran the place and was my primary contact. He's since pretty much retired and Loren Jr. runs the place. I gather they've expanded into other service lines (the Guardian breathalyzer rental business) and they've taken on a secretary to help out. I haven't experienced that side of the business (including any interaction with the secretary). Recently, it's always been with Loren Jr. or one of the mechanics and the customer interaction has been great.

Called for a quote & got an exact estimate (which did not change after service was completed) from Lonny & he even sent me a discount code to use so I could save some money. Eclipse wanted to charge nearly double without any real reasoning & wasn't offering a discount. After comparing, I took my car into Super Street & was treated like my business & time mattered. They talked me through the process as it was happening & made sure I had everything I needed before sending me on my way. Fast, friendly & reliable service everytime I've been in since. The employees are just as friendly as their dogs & I couldn't be happier with the shop I chose! Also found out Eclipse was FIRED from 2 IID companies because they were double charging clients & pocketing what was supposed to be paid to the IID companies (which is a felony). He arrived without an appointment and requested immediate removal of his IID device. We explained that IID removals must be scheduled through the device manufacturer, not directly with our shop. This is a state-regulated process, and bypassing it can result in significant setbacks, including restarting the entire interlock period. Unfortunately, when we tried to explain this, the customer became agitated and confrontational. Our staff attempted to de-escalate the situation and provide guidance on the correct steps, but the interaction broke down. We never want a customer to feel unheard or frustrated. At the same time, we are required to follow all legal and procedural guidelines to protect both our customers and our business. We're always happy to help clarify the process when approached calmly and respectfully, and we wish this individual better experiences moving forward.
