Absolutely the worst Customer Service ever! these two ladies this morning were like grumpy bears…read morethat were sitting behind their computers when I got there and no customers at that. I immediately walked up and said good morning to both of them and I did not even get an acknowledgment of my greeting which I thought was very odd. One lady then said "can I help you"? she asked two questions I answered both of them and handed her the money that i owed. She handed me my registration and my new tab. I then stood up to leave, I turned around and even said that they were very unwelcoming and when a customer greets you the least you can do is reply back versus flat out ignore, and told them both they really should at-least greet customers when they arrive and if they can't do that at-least reply if the customer greets them, the one lady literally looked up at me shrugged her shoulder, opened her eyes big and said "sorry" in a very "unsorry tone"the other lady looked over at her and again silence from both. I told them I would never be back as their fortunately are other locations that I can take my business too and will definitely be writing a review, and oh, no response from either of them. So as I was leaving the guy at the front of the store (this licensing place is in the back of an ace hardware store) wished me a nice day. Here I am in his store not giving them any business and he wishes me a good day but the folks I did give my business too couldn't even respond to my warm greeting I gave upon my arrival. Coincidentally as I was walking to my car a lady that parked next to me was walking into the store next door that I met a few years ago and we chatted for a few minutes and I told her the story and she said that she herself had an unpleasant experience there before and takes her business to Hazel Dell. She then said her daughter in law won't go there either.

Came here to finally transfer my license to the state of Washington from Maryland…read more Sad day. The older gentleman right up front was so nice to everyone that walked in and was very efficient at pointing them in the right direction. I had about a 10 minute wait for my number to be called, so I had no choice but to listen to him since I was sitting right by his desk. Not once did he ever falter even a little bit when giving answers to questions he was asked. When my number was finally called, a younger gentleman handled the transfer of my license. He was extremely nice and appropriately chatty during pauses between taking and entering my information into the system. My past experience with licensing is that it is usually a process that takes a few hours of dealing with people that hate their jobs. This maybe took about 45 minutes max and the staff here that I encountered was very pleasant. I thought it was a little weird that you handle all of the paperwork/payment at one station, then go to another station to have your photo taken, and then get a temporary (paper) driver's license, only to wait for your official driver's license to be mailed within the next 30 days. I have always gotten the official one the same day, but I suppose this is how they can get people in and out of there in a reasonable amount of time. So I'll take it.

Then told me "that's what I would do." Well we aren't all a**holes. So some of us don't think that's right to break the rules. I would say there needs to be 2 kiosks. One for people with appointments that actually plan to be on time and one for walk-ins and mark them accordingly. The website asks us to book an appointment and be there 10 min early. But the line is for everyone. It took over an hour in the line and when I got to the kiosk to check in, my appointment lapsed and they told me to make a new appointment.

We have had to come here 4 times this past month for a variety of reasons and we never had a bad experience. Even the building and parking lot are clean and beautifully maintained. I moved back to WA from…read moreout of state and they were very helpful on the phone telling me what I need to bring and that I didn't need an appointment. Just a WA drivers license, title and current mileage. I made it for a visit today and was in and out in under 30 minutes even with three people ahead of me. There are only two front desk positions so the system slows down immensely when it gets crowded. I left with two new plates, registration tab and my registration paper. It looks like they have a notary on site which is useful to know. Snapped a pic on the details. FYI, if you miss what they post on the DMV site: DOL offices like this one only deal with the registration of boats and vehicles. If you want to apply for or renew a driver's license, you have to go the DMV for that.

Orchard Auto License absolutely lived up to the great reviews…read more When I walked in, the line looked long, so I fully expected a wait and was prepared for it. To my surprise, I was helped within five to ten minutes, which was impressive given how full the lobby was and that only a few staff members were assisting customers. The person who helped me was friendly, personable, and explained everything clearly. We even had a brief, pleasant chat about their dog, which made the whole experience unexpectedly enjoyable. That is not something I ever expect from a licensing office. I was there to get my Washington state registration, and the process was fast, smooth, and stress-free. Super efficient, super friendly, and genuinely a great experience. I would absolutely go back for any services they offer and highly recommend them.

Visited this Washington Department of Licensing location to register a new vehicle we recently…read morepurchased. We made the mistake of choosing to let an Oregon car dealership process our WA state licensing paperwork thinking it would be easier. We quickly learned our lesson and will opt to take care of it ourselves next time. A check was overnighted to us from the OR dealership, made out to WA DOL with instructions to bring it to a specific licensing location near our home. As we all know, any kind of DMV office is no picnic. We arrived at this licensing office, took a number, and waited an hour before being called. The lady that helped us was super nice and friendly. I wish I would have gotten her name. Anyhow, after entering all the pertinent information into her computer, she realized the dealership had made the check out for the incorrect amount. It was about $300 too much. Ugh, we had to contacts the dealership and have another check overnighted to us. Very frustrating, especially with all the helpful calculation tools available at the WA DOL website. The lady gave us a printout of the exact amount required to register our vehicle and get license plates. She was so apologetic and helpful, even though it was totally not her fault. Once we contacted the dealership and received the new check, we returned to the same licensing office. We were fortunate enough to get the same helpful lady, which made the process quick and painless. She remembered us too, which was nice. My only gripe about this location is how long it takes to be taken care of. It seemed like the closer it got to closing, the more we noticed employees emerging from the back room to help out. Not sure why they couldn't have come out sooner, but waiting an hour seems beyond reasonable. Both times we came here our number was about 15-20 numbers behind the one currently called. We also spent over an hour here during each visit. Overall, the employees here are very knowledgeable. If you're not in a hurry, I would highly recommend this licensing office.
