We are purchasing a home in Sun Lakes that had a leak in the master bedroom closet. We needed to determine the source of the leak and the Sellers hired Ridge Runner Roofing. He called us back and explained what was repaired, confirming it was the source if the leak, and reassured us the issue was addressed. Considering that we were not the party that hired him I was very impressed that he was willing to spend his time going over the condition of the roof and addressing our concerns. The son of the owner picked up my voicemail when I called the company on my roof leak. He was in the area and offered to give me a free estimate which I appreciated. After surveying the roof , he told me that the repair would cost 6K to guarantee the job. He explained the problem and planned to remove and replace a row of tiles to guarantee the roof from leaks. We were shocked at the price and got other estimates. We ended up getting it repaired without replacing all of the tiles through a retired roofer friend for much less than quoted. My advice: Get multiple quotes if you use this company or any other company. We are ver glad that we did not go with this first estimate. Had to change my previous review from 5 stars down to 2. We have only used Ridgerunner since moving to Beaumont and anytime anyone would ask for a roofer, we would recommend them. Shane came to my house on 7/28 to give a quote on a leak. It's now 8/14 and I still don't have a quote. I texted on 8/1, 8/3, and 8/8 and each time I was told it will be sent. My last text on 8/10 has gone unanswered. I called out 2 other roofers this week to get quotes and I've already got their quotes in hand. I left a message for a return call to have my roof worked on, but I guess they are so busy they can't even call me back. Reading previous reviews, I see they seem to do this regularly. I got their info from yelp when I was looking for a new roof. Called and setup an appt. he showed up on time on the day he said he would. He gave me a great quote almost half the cost of some of the other roofers, and offered the best warranty I had found so far. We talked about some changes to the quote and he got me an even better price. They showed up on the day they said they would and got the job done in 7 days. We had a broken tile on our roof which sometimes caused a small leak into our ceiling. I made the mistake of trying to have a roofer company come out and provide a quote shortly after some good rain in Southern California, where all roofers are swamped with repair requests. Half the roofers didn't respond, while others had over two weeks until they would come out to look at the roof. Then... I got a call from Shane the next morning and allied me if i still needed a quote. Indeed I did. He came out a couple days later and checked out the issue. He gave a great price for the repair and since there wasn't much work needed he even said he would perform some preventative maintenance. A few days later he and his team were out and repaired the issue and found a couple others and fixed those too. They are very clean while working and don't just throw roof components down. Very professional and yet fun to talk with at the same time. All this was completed about a week before the next available roofing company would even come out to look at my roof and provide a quote. First, I don't give a 5 Star Rating very often but Shane (Ridge Runner Roofing) and his team repaired my roof - solar panel area on schedule (even when it started to rain and his crew had to go back for more tiles!). We just went through a few more days of rain out here in Beaumont, CA and it looks like the 30 some odd cement tiles he replaced (on our 12 year old home in Four Seasons, Beaumont did the trick. He was fairly priced for the service he and his team provided and executed as he promised my wife. When he first went up to check out our roofing issues he took pictures of the area and left me with an old tile that I want to show our builder. Shane Clark really IS as good as it gets! I was in the process of selling two houses and buying another. The first house I sold needed some minor roofing repairs done and Shane was very knowledgeable and and told me it was only a few tiles. He completed the estimate and repairs within a day. And not only that, the was extremely reasonable in his pricing! Then on to my nightmare... The house that I was buying was becoming a problem with the owner not willing to do correct repairs on various items. This let me to think that the owner of this house may be hiding something so I called Shane out to do a roof inspection. Again, he was out inspecting within a few days. Luckily, the roof wasn't in as bad a shape as I thought it may be but unluckily for Shane, his computer system when down and he couldn't get the report to me when he said he could but did call me immediately to let me know it would be a day or two later. He also told me not to worry about paying him until the report was ready. In this day and age, who does that?! Shane's communication skills, people skills, and pricing were amazing. As a homeowner, 2 things keep me awake at night. Plumbing backups and roof leaks! Well, I bought a house 5 years ago built in 1978 and it's had it's fair share of roof leaks. The last round of rain opened up a section of my drywall. I spent 4 days calling roofers all around the Inland Empire, only to get either vague responses back, or no response at all. I sent a message last night and he responded immediately and said that since he also lived in Yucaipa, he'd be out first thing this morning. Well, to make a long story short, he not only patched the roof this morning, but chatted with me on roof repairs, and gave me some great tips on maintaining the style of roof I have. I was so nervous and so anxious to get the leak fixed before this multi-storm weather pattern we're having right now in So Cal, and Shane put all my fears to rest. He was respectful (took off his shoes when he came into my house), kind, extremely generous with his time, and made sure I was satisfied before he left. Unprofessional & Possibly Unlicensed! I called Shane to do a roof inspection on a home i am in escrow on. The sellers rightfully wanted to make sure any contractor is licensed and bonded. This is so if anything was broken or an accident happened, they would have some recourse. Shane said fine and would send over a copy of his license certificate. I called and emailed him numerous times over a 3 day period. A day before the inspections, he finally answered the phone. He said he wasn't "comfortable" doing the inspection. This seems strange and weird that a home owner that is just trying to protect themselves makes him "uncomfortable". What does he have to hide or fear? Is it that he isn't bonded and doesn't have liability insurance? Not sure, all i know is this is not out of the ordinary and part of any contracting business. In any case, ultimately he just wasted 3 days of my time and i could have had the inspection done already. Escrow is time sensitive and he has just set me back. Avoiding me and giving me the run around is not a professional way of handling any situation. I would never call them again and certainly wouldn't ever recommend this company. read more
