I bought a Ride1UP LMTD V2 in September 2024 through the Minnesota e-bike rebate program. Within weeks of delivery, the bike began having power delivery issues (the motor surged and dropped out). I reached out immediately last fall to start a warranty claim. Fast forward to now: the bike is nearly unrideable. When I contacted support, they flat-out lied to me. They claimed they had "no record" of my previous contact and told me the warranty was only 30 days. Their own website and manual clearly state a 1-year limited warranty for manufacturing defects. I have since found the "lost" email from last September in my records, proving I reported this well within the warranty window. Even with this proof, they refuse to honor their policy and are trying to force me to pay for a replacement torque sensor out of pocket. It is clear that once they have your money (and the state rebate), they have zero interest in standing behind their product. I have filed formal complaints with the Minnesota Attorney General and the BBB. Do yourself a favor and buy from a company that actually honors its written word. read more

I utilized R1UP's mechanic services as I had bought a cafe cruiser from their online store last year. I experienced a flat and had to bring it in as I did not have the time or tools for a fix. They worked fast and I was lucky to get same day turn around service. My ebike was ready in about 2 hours. Can't say nice enough things about the physical store. Their store associates were super cool and friendly. They also had some merchandise I picked up since I was passing through (a shirt, bottle, and lanyard). My brother gave me his DRT and I loved the bike. I was riding it home one day and the bike just shuts off. I bought a new controller that didn't fix it. I went to buy a new screen and on the website they didn't have a selection for DRT model. I called and asked if the screen was the same for regular model as the DRT. the person didn't seem to know for sure but says yes. I went back on website and they had added the same screen for DRT SO I bought a new screen. When it arrives I install it and bike turns powers on. As I'm going through the settings I noticed that it didn't seem the same. I was able to put on off road but would turbo wasn't working only said eco which original screen did not. Next day I go to ride it and I put throttle to make bike just to go at a crawl and I stopped bike to ask my daughter something I turn around bike off and won't power on again. I called customer service tell them the issue. I say the screen they sent me isn't the correct one and is faulty. I'm expecting them to say sure we will send you another one. Nope they don't allow returns on accessories. The controller and screen are parts the bike needs to operate and can't work with out them. They want to label them as accessories so they don't have take responsibility for selling faulty parts. That can't be legal. Instead of doing what's right they want me to send them pictures of the bike and wiring so they can evaluate the picture and make a decision on how to proceed. I took it to a bike shop and he was able to Hotwire the bike to bypass screen and the bike works. The screen is the problem and they want me to spend another $120 for I'm already knowing they send the same one that doesn't go to the DRT. I'm really disappointed in the customer service here I love the bike and it sucks that it's just sitting in my garage hoping I can find a Drt screen online somewhere. read more

I've had a flawless experience with Ride1Up San Diego since I first visited their shop in August 2025. Zac must have spent a couple hours on test rides of several different bikes for me that day, before I settled on a Large frame Roadster V3. He has also been available via text in the months since, for advice and technical support. When I want to adjust/repair things myself, he answers questions, but when I wanted him to tune the bike and repair a rear flat last weekend, he did it in one day. I was so happy that I wanted to tip him, but there was no electronic mechanism for that, so I'm writing him this review instead. I hope a few more people buy bikes from him because of it. I recently purchased the Ride1UP Vorsa for my wife as a commuter bike, and I have to say, I'm incredibly impressed. Assembly was super easy--everything fit perfectly, and in my case, no adjustments were needed right out of the box. The build quality is excellent; you can tell this bike is really well made. The Vorsa rides beautifully--smooth, quiet, and very comfortable. I was initially concerned about what would happen if the battery ever ran out, but it turns out the bike is surprisingly easy to pedal even without assist, so that's not a problem at all. As a long-time cyclist who has owned many bikes over the years, I can confidently say this one has quickly become my new favorite. It's such a great balance of design, performance, and comfort. Best bike experience! I'm an active person that has been training and participated in various triathlons, 70.3 IM, century rides and with turning soon 61, decided it's time to find an alternative e-Road or Gravel bike that gives me the boost when I needed but still lets me enjoy being active in group rides with others w/o feeling completely exhausted when joining faster rider groups. I spent a good amount of time before Thanksgiving to look at various brands and options in the market and there are plenty to choose from. I liked a lot of the options but my budget was not to spend $5k or more on a nice carbon e-bike. I count myself very fortunate that I landed on the Ride1Up website, when I found the CF Racer1 e-road or gravel bike model. I was skeptical as I have never heard about them before and I have been riding many different brands from Specialized over Trek, Canyon, Cannondale, Obrea, Scotts to name a few. So my quality and ride expectations were high and after a first test ride (I'm fortunate to live in San Diego where the Ride1Up HQ is), I was more than impressed. Jonathan and Rudy were both super helpful, very knowledgeable and made me very comfortable with the Ride1Up CF racer bike and brand experience. Fast forward, giving the incredible price at no noticeable shortcuts on the bike quality and bike components, I was sold and decided to order online the CF Racer1 (still unsure if I go for the Road or Gravel bike version). The final tipping point for me to go with the gravel version was additional YouTube reviews that I found and Jonathan's input saying the gravel doesn't really give any disadvantage over the road version (1mph faster) but gives the rider the benefit of both world, using as a road or gravel bike depending on the terrain and riders like. Delivery experience: I can't say I was more impressed and delighted with the solid shipping and out of the box experience. The bike was in miraculous condition and the assembly was fun and easy for my daughter and son to help. I was impressed how everything was perfectly tuned, and the small size fits me perfectly (I'm 5.4). I love the color and it looks amazing in sunlight. The only thing I noticed was a small chain rattle noice when shifting in lower gears. I could have tried to adjust the rear derailleur myself but decide to call and bike instead to Jonathan at the Ride1Up store, who was more than happy to check and realign. Riding experience: I went for my first ride with my wife (very strong rider that usually rides +200k/Randonneur) and boy was I happy how the bike performs and fits me. I love how smooth the transition is from biking with your own strength to using the pedal assist. We went for a 45miles bike ride with some +2k elevation (one short stretch 20%) and I used exactly just 1/2 of the battery and could easily see myself riding 90 miles before using up the battery. Even without the pedal assist the bike runs so smoothly (thx to the gravel tires and carbon frame) and fast! Given my riding style is still very involved, some others might see a shorter range but I felt not exhausted at all and still got some good exercise and a lot of fun factor out of my first ride ;) I can't wait to go on my next ride and although this is the longest review I have ever written I wanted to share this very positive experience and help others that maybe unsure as I was to feel very comfortable with buying the CF Racer1 bike. Job well done Ride1Up and big compliments to the San Diego Ride1Up team Jonathan and Rudy - you guys rock! Sizing: I'm 5.4 feet, 138lb and this small size bike fits me like a glove. Please, before you buy one of their bikes, try reaching their customer service and see how long it takes you. Ride1Up sent me a defective bicycle. That's ok, it happens. For a company with no physical locations, a user manual that doesn't cover even the most basic problems (such as switching out a rear tire), one would however, expect customer support to be at the very least, usable. Over the course of a week, I was on hold with their customer service a total of 6 HOURS. I was only able to actually reach a C.S. representative ONCE. Most bike shops will not service their bikes due to liability issues. This experience was enough for me to want to return the bicycle. Come to find out, if they send you a defective bike, you will have to pay several hundred dollars OUT OF POCKET to return it. I'm sure if I was ever able to actually ride it, the bike would've been great. Unfortunately, I wasn't. read more

Amongst all the 5-star reviews, this one is going to disappoint. First off, The Roadster V3 is a nice bike. The V2 was better, except for the belt drive. The V2 was so much more stealthy and sexy. But the cheap belt kept breaking. I replace 3 within 2 years. Anyhow, back to the V3. Nice bike, but not as stealthy. It is fast, which I love more than anything else about the bike. Now to the bad. The battery compartment cover does not fit properly. I was told by Ride 1Up staff, that it is within tolerances. That might be so. But your tolerances need revising. If it is plainly obvious that the cover is not sitting flush with the down tube. The tolerances are crap. If you can slide a stiff piece of paper through the gap, water will have no trouble seeping in and rusting out the down tube. Speaking of the frame. Why only one place to attach a water bottle carrier, or a lock holder? I have to strap my lock to the rack, or put it in a pannier. I use the only connection point for my water bottle holder. Oh, and because the new V3 has square tubing instead of the traditional round tubing, after market products like lock holders that bolt on with round sleeves do not work. The bike is proprietary. You buy the bike. You buy the rack. Because an off the shelf rack will not fit. I realize this is because the larger motor in the rear hub, but you could mention this ahead of time. And the rack? Piece of garbage. First it comes to you in FIVE pieces! The only separate pieces a rack should have are the two bars that adjust to fit to the seat post. I am always losing bolts, as the loosen quickly and fall out. Plus the bolts are about an 1/8th inch too short. I have had to go out and buy a dozen bolts at a longer length. I carry them with me. I know that they will fall out and need replacing. Which leads to this: the rack is also proprietary. You buy the rack, you buy the panniers. Off the shelf panniers, like Ortlieb will fit, eventually. But you have to fight to get the lower clip to readily fit the larger diameter tubing used in the proprietary rack. And OMG! The panniers? So small you can barely fit a loaf of bread in one. Plus they are difficult to attach to the rack, with lower straps that need to be secured. Unlike my Ortlieb panniers, these tiny panniers cannot be just lifted off the rack. Luckily, I complained loud enough that Ride 1Up sent them to me for free. Good thing too. They have been sitting in my closet gathering dust since they arrived. My other pannier is a convertable backpack/pannier from North. Really nice. Really convenient. The lower hook, however, will not stay securely attached to the rack. The rack is not designed with a lower 'catch' that would keep the lower hook of the pannier from sliding off of the rack frame. I use my V3 as a commuter and as my primary method of getting around. I really think that the designers of this model have not really ever ridden a commuter bike on real streets. I have watched videos of road tests and they are in some new suburb on the fringe of a city with nice, smooth streets. Ride 1Up needs to take their products and do real-world testing with alligator pavement, potholes, speed bumps and all the other anomalies of riding on the crumbling infrastructure of every major inner city. Even my kickstand needs constant tightening. I remember as a kid, kickstands never needed tightening. They were just always there. I suggest you take all this criticism seriously and design a Roadster V4 with round tube frame, a single piece rack that accommodates more than just your panniers, a battery cover that actually seats properly, and bolts that actually fit and stay seated. Finally, Ride 1Up customer service is nothing but an excuse line. The after sale help just isn't there. I can say with all honesty, I will be looking at other ebike manufacturers, before I ever consider another Ride 1Up. read more

The gf and I both ordered the foldable Portola e-bike. We love exploring new cities and new restaurants and what better way to explore than with an e-bike. We ordered ours online and it came very quickly. The assembly was really easy and we were ready to ride within 30min. However our bikes, out of the box, had a few minor issues. The handle bar wouldn't turn and derailleur hanger was slightly bent. I called our local bike shop and they wanted to charge us over $100 for the labor. I found out that there's a store in San Diego, about 1.5 hours from where we live. We took our bikes and headed down and met with Zach and Rudy. We were greeted with a warm welcome and immediately I knew they were gonna take care of us. They took our bikes and repaired them on the spot. It was the smoothest and quickest service ever. Zach also gave us some recommendations on where to bike in SD. The drive down was long and traffic sucked. But the service you get is all worth it and i would do it all over again. After researching different foldable ebikes, I ordered the Portola from Ride1Up. The bicycle arrived very quickly and my husband put it together in about 40 minutes. Then we went for our first ride. Beware! Beware! Beware! Ride1up Customer Service is a bad joke. I bought a Ride1Up LMT'D, very fun e-bike powerful, get extra cost fenders or you'll be covered in kicked-up muck. My bike has less than 100 miles on it, 84.5 to be more exact.All was good until... A rollerblader dude wearing headphones on a bike trail - Cherry Creek, Wyandot & Larimer, bike side, creek level - didn't hear me call out. "Passing left". We both go down, the right brake lever punctured my jeans, underwear and went about 3" into my thigh. 7-stitches, 2-internal and 5-external. Ride1Up sent a new brake handle quickly. But then... Reassembling my bike, it was determined that the front fork was bent. I contacted the retailer, he didn't have a replacement fork. I contacted Ride1Up, no replacement fork. Ride1Up Customer Service made some recommendations, "common, Amazon" but none of them would fit. The retailer and the nearest-to-the-accident bike shop, also my regular go-to bike shop have spent days, now more than 2-weeks, searching for a replacement fork, but again,nothing fits, not common. Ride1Up's Customer Service has stopped responding... Now. Ride1Up has been consistent of no help. "Your bike has miles on it, no warranty support." We don't have parts. I have spoken to the San Diego HQ, purported techs. I am not seeking a freebie, just parts to fix my bike...my favorite transport mode. Their attitude, and tones of communication have been aggressive, and hostile and seem accusing of me. Again, they claim, "common parts are available on Amazon". The fork size part is unavailable, nothing commonly available will fit... Many searches have been done by me, by the local retailer, by my bike shop's repair team. Ride1Up seems to have decided, "NOT THEIR PROBLEM! Go f...ing fish! No offers to part out a bike, no offers to even assist! Yes, I have the quite numerous email threads, too many to post... now. BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! My bike seemed fine, but the support after the sale...blaming, hostile, too bothered. Adamantly unhelpful! This seems headed to litigation. Vorsa review: I don't post reviews very often, but really wanted to in this case. But I also wanted to wait until I had at least several hundred miles on it in a variety of terrain (hills and flats) before giving my feedback. My wife and I have had 500 series Ride1Up bikes for the past 4 years until I upgraded to the Vorsa. Although we love the 500s, this bike is hands down so much better. So much more power for a rider my size (235lbs), smooth hydraulic brakes, great display, and just an all around quality build. So far, we have ridden some pretty steep inclines on paved trails, and even at my size I can still get 15mph + up the hills, often even without going to the top level of assist. I love the fact that you can decide on either cadence or torque sensor, although I ride predominantly in torque sensor now after experiencing the smooth more natural assist. Also being able to customize the level of assistance you get for each step up on the display is awesome. You will definitely want to do that if you are going to use the cadence sensor, as the level of assist is way to high out of the box. Battery life has been outstanding. I have gone 41-42 miles a few times and still had 45-50% battery left- even with often riding in level 2-3 and some mixed throttle. The last thing I will say is that I have always had very good luck when reaching out to customer service in the 4+ years we have owned Ride1Up bikes. I know everyone's experience is different, but I will leave you with this story- when I was installing the stem and tightening it down when putting the Vorsa together, I likely went a little too tight and stripped one of the threads on one side. I contacted support, ended up talking to Kevin himself (one of the founders), and no questions asked he said that since they did not have the parts shipment in yet for spare parts to send me a replacement, that they would reimburse me for a new stem on Amazon (and also guided me on some good options to order). I did not take them up on them reimbursing me, as looking back I am sure it was install error on my part. But to me, that is great customer service and makes me want to continue to buy from them in the future. read more

Great all around bike which I use for commuting and rails to trails. Purchased the Prodidgy V1 last april to replace my 2017 Izip mid drive which had 6500 miles on it. This ebike has much better components for under $2K. I have 1500 miles on it. Powerful, quiet motor, crisp shifting and the clutch dropout is a nice feature when shifting. With the torque sensor riding feels like a regular bike. I get a solid 35 miles using sport mode which is a lot of assist. I am 5'10" so I added a BESNIN 120 Degree,90mm Adjustable Bike Stem and a zoom suspension seatpost. Plus I run my tires at 40psi. Makes for a very comfortable more upright ride. I will echo a previous review about the front fender has too tight of clearance. Plus it would be nice if you could turn off the headlight even though it only uses 3W of power. The 48V/672AH bigger battery would be nice for the prodigy series like the LMTD. The tires are slick and rather thin which gives them good rolling performance. However I had 2 rear tire punctures in 700 miles so I replaced the tire tube with a slime tube and no flats since. Assembly was easy for me. I did reach out to support once on a modification I wanted to make. They sent a detailed email with photos. Good support. read more

The only way to purchase a new Ride1UP bike is via their website online. However at this location you can test drive any of the returned bikes and you can purchase any of the used returned bikes. They don't always have all models available to test drive. It depends on what has been recently returned. But apparently that variety changes daily, so call ahead to find out what they have at that moment. You can call Rudy at 6193138542. Not thrilled. These folks were on everyone's best buy and value lists. Looks like a great bike. I've had the bike for week and would love to ride it but can't, because of missing parts. Tried to call all morning left several messages and have yet to get a call back. Finally received email telling me it will be a week for the parts with some coming from Amazon? On top of that, I was told, when I placed my order, that the rear rack was on back order until October, which was fine. However, the day after I received the bike, I received an email stating that the rack would arrive by the end of December at the earliest. Very disappointed read more
