The Duke Lemur Center is staffed with friendly, knowledgeable staff who are truly excited to tell…read moreyou all about lemurs! We had a wonderful time. There wasn't a question we had that our excellent tour guide couldn't answer for us. She knew all of the lemurs by name, in addition to knowing what types of lemurs they were. We were there for about 2 hours, and we toured the veterinary and research facilities, the nocturnal area, the lemurs usual little cage homes, and then the external exclosure area where they could roam free within an outside area. The external exclosure was especially fun, as we could just walk among the trees & bamboo as they lept from tree to tree overhead. At the end, they brought us to the gift shop, and then also gave us all an educational magazine. They require donations in exchange for the tour, and all tours MUST be booked in advance (so look online before you just show up!). However, if you are looking for something truly unique to explore while in Durham, I can't recommend this enough.

RESERVATIONS REQUIRED AND donations to experience it highly needed and recommended! Worth every penny of support at Duke AND for conservation efforts in Madagascar led by DLC personnel, students and local conservation groups.

We rented a canoe from Frog Hollow for a couple of hours on the weekend. It was SUPER affordable,…read morecheaper than anywhere I've ever been and much cheaper than renting a boat by far. They provided everything we needed (paddles, life jackets) and gave us a quick 60 second refresher on how to use the canoe before we headed off. We were at one of the channels off of Falls lake, and they gave us advice on which direction was the best to go off towards. It was pretty hot out, but being so close to the water made it cooler and the shade lowered the temperature a lot too. Along the way, we saw turtles, fish, and a couple of herons. The whole experience was very peaceful, relaxing, and low-stress. It was a great day to spend a warm morning outside, although I would recommend booking an earlier or later time in the summer since around noon there isn't really much shade on the water. Will definitely come back for another paddle!

Frog Hollow is a gem for paddling enthusiasts!…read more As someone in my mid-40s learning a young person's sport, I've had two incredible 1-on-1 sessions with Jer on flat water, with another scheduled this week and I can't recommend them enough. Jer's technical expertise, constructive criticism, and what i consider endurance training have been invaluable to build confidence for white water. It's easy to think you understand the sport by reading, watching, and listening, but reality hits when you're underwater and upside down. Jer has been fantastic in sharing both the positive and realistic sides of whitewater paddling, making the experience both challenging and rewarding. I still remind myself "nothing worthwhile comes easy at first". Lastly, if you're looking to improve your skills, fix bad habits, and gain a deeper understanding of the sport, Frog Hollow is the place to be! Thanks, Josh

It has unique chances a long with it- weather throwing balls, , puzzles, coordination, you name it. It even has a small zip line within! Service: everybody was very friendly Price: reasonable. Came here with my son but I enjoyed it more!

There are 3 course Yellow, red, and blue. I didn't realize that there were multiple course until half way through the course I was wondering how I get on the indoor bus. Each course had a uniqueness that made it completely different from the other courses. My favorite from Yellow course was the zip line, red course was the slippery floor and the Rocket , and blue course was the bus and pool table. Each course & hole had an activity thaw was an interactive experience. The cost for this activity was $16 for all 3 courses per person, great price for this experience. The staff were friendly and answered all my questions. I didn't eat but definitely bring a water bottle as they have refill station near the bathroom. The bathrooms were clean as well as the inside & on the courses. Employee was dusting the course in between people finishing their shots. The parking lot was huge, so definitely plenty of parking. I had a great time and definitely recommend, if you're looking for a fun, unique activity. Cheers
