We were at Cabela's and the family was hungry for something to eat. There were only chain restaurants nearby, so we found this spot on Yelp. It had so many excellent reviews. We stopped in and the place was not busy. The staff were nice and the food was good. The bathrooms were not clean at all. They were horrible and made us concerned how clean the rest of the place was. Prices were a bit higher than we expected. We would not come back because of the cleanliness issue. read more

Pulling from various family members' backgrounds, this mostly Mexican infuses Korean bbq with Bulgogi Burritos, Korean Galbi style steak, and straight up bibimbop bowls. When one of the fathers is around, pho shows up on the menu. Most importantly, the food is delicious and exceptionally fresh. The bulgogi is some of the best flavored I've ever had in Pennsylvania. fajitas have chewy very very thick cut meat. that sure isnt carne asada. whatever it is needs to be seriously marinated to be soft. I have never encountered fajitas like that in my life. I was iffy on trying the place being it is not an authentic mexican only restaurant meaning its vietnamese food also. the guac was ok. pretty decent but for take out even for $15 was a tiny container usually in the resturant for $15 its double that size. the chips arent corn they are home made fried to a crisp flour tortillas. they dont taste like corn tortilla chips at all. never had this kind either at a mexican restaurant i dont like them. not the worst mexican food ive had but not good enough for me to return and pay the same price i would at plaza azteca which is the best around. the burritos were pretty good not what im used to for mexican burrito but good. and the meat was a lot softer than the fajitas go figure that. I cook and I am not mexican but i can make better fajitas and salsa. I have done it many times. I like to order food or go to restaurant so i dont have to cook. read more

I got the taco dorado cheese for dinner which came with japchae noodles. The noodles were the highlight of the dish and were good - a solid 6/10. The tacos were similar to a taquito filled with mozzarella sticks and were underwhelming. Although the food was decent, the concept of "Mexican Korean fusion" did not come to fruition on my plate as it was simply two different cuisines presented together. Overall the place is clean and service was very quick - we got our food within fifteen minutes of ordering, and the chips and salsa were good. I had the spring rolls with peanut sauce and the chicken enchilada with black beans and rice. I added some hot green sauce to give it more zing. It was delicious as was the salsa. The food was clean; it tasted homemade. The servers were pleasant, friendly, and accommodating. If you are in, near, or passing through Shoemaker, I suggest you check this place out. So glad we found this gem! Fantastic service, family-friendly, no wait time, and great food! What's not to love? We met one of the owners, JB, and had such a pleasant conversation with him about how his dad's dream of opening a restaurant has come to fruition. His dad is the head chef and has 28 years of experience cooking in NYC! The plating, quality of taste and ingredients show his passion for cooking. We ordered panko-crusted mozzarella cheese sticks and guacamole as appetizers. They made the guac table-side which was a nice surprise, and as fresh as it gets. Our family entrees included a chicken quesadilla with shredded carrots inside (so tasty actually!), beef and chicken enchiladas with a slightly-spicy green sauce, and a steak burrito. Everyone from a toddler to the adults enjoyed it all. They weren't as busy as they should be, having opened earlier this year. I'm going to tell everyone to come support this great family-run restaurant. You won't be sorry you tried it out. I can't wait to come back to try the Korean and Pho! read more

So I might designate this my new favorite restaurant. I have had their food twice and both times they were fantastic! The second time we actually ate there. The staff is super friendly and on the ball with drinks and salsa chips.The guacamole was delicious and fresh tasting. My wife ordered chicken tacos and enjoyed them. My son ordered the spring roll appetizer and quesadillas. He couldn't finish them because it was a lot of food. I ordered the Pho and it was delicious and filling. I am loving the whole Mexican-Asian fusion. I talked to one of the owners and he said they will adding more Korean dishes to the menu. I am no food expert I either like something or I don't and I loved the food here at Rico Casa. I tried a Mexican dish the chorizo and potato quesadilla and the bulgogi rice bowl and both were amazing. With the Korean food I have some experience from living there and this was on point! The food is a different style of Mexican cuisine different spices but equally as good as our other Mexican restaurants in Berks County. The staff were friendly and efficient. I know new restaurants tend to have growing pains but if this was in that growing pain window and they are only going to get better from an outstanding experience I had I can't wait to see where they end up. When we pulled up to the parking area, we weren't sure we wanted to go inside, as it is out in the middle of nowhere. We decided to give it a try and you should too. The staff was very welcoming. We ordered chicken fajitas and the pho that they advertised on their sign outside. The pho was delicious!!! This was a shocker because we didn't expect this meal in their menu. If you're a fan of pho, don't hesitate to try this soup. The chicken fajitas were good. It was served with rice and beans. I missed the lettuce and tomatoes but overall a good meal. Was very impressed on their breakfast selection it felt like home cooking. Went back for lunch and their tacos and some other plates with the family.My favorite was the sweet and sour wings OMG! they were so good I had to get another order. The carne asada was amazing and seasoned perfectly and the texture of the meat was so soft almost felt like it melted in the mouth. Was very pleased satisfied and full at the end of the visit. Stopped there today with my wife and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We have been to a fair share of other Mexican restaurants and the two dishes we had here were excellent, I had enchiladas Verde and she had the chicken quesadillas. Both were very good and FRESH, right down to the salsa they served with the chips, it was all very clean and fresh tasting with well balanced flavors. I wasn't interested in trying this place at first only because nothing seems to last in the location, but when someone suggested it and swore that Rico Casa was legit, I gave in and called after work one night. I was told they were about to close in 3 minutes, but the host insisted I make an order anyway for pick up and I'm glad I did; the spicy pork and steak tocos were true Mexican style tacos and delicious and the rice and beans were even to die for.
