I was searching for a Thai restaurant on Yelp and came across Ricky Bistro. We decided to give it a shot and we were pleasantly surprised. We found parking right behind the restaurant near the back entrance. We were immediately greeted and seated by the server. Service was amazing, food was even better. I noticed multiple servers constantly scanning the restaurant to make sure customers are tended to. Ok now to the food. We had: Papaya salad ( my absolute favorite) I ordered medium spicy and it was the right amount of spice. Chicken wings - these came out of the kitchen piping hot Beef Pad see ew- I couldn't stop eating this. The flat wide noodles were so delicious Beef with broccoli and oyster sauce ( tastes so much better than it looks) the charred flavor of the broccoli was a home run. What I loved about the menu is that there's recommendations for spice level or choice of protein and beer pairing which was great! I think we found our new go-to Thai place. read more

North Miami - Every so often I update my thoughts on this family owned local gem. Each visit for the past 13 years continues to be 5*. Our last visit earlier this week was again outstanding. I was surprised to find a Thai restaurant in North Miami, so I stopped by for dinner. Tiny spot, not many tables, no outdoor seating. I had a good feeling when there was a line outside just to sit. Once we were seated, our waiter recommended some dishes and told us about the specials. The food was good, flavorful, and fresh tasting. The only reason I don't give them a five star review is because the waiter did forget about us twice, we had to wave him down for containers and then again for the check. I'm updating my review based on my recent visit to Ricky Thai Bistro. I came again last night with my bestie and it was a perfect experience from start to finish. Service was exceptional. We were greeted and seated right away, and someone immediately came to provide menus and water. I love that they leave you with a cold bottle of water on the table! Our waiter came and checked in on us quickly thereafter and food came very quickly! He continued to check in with us intermittently and the bus person who gave the water and menus also asked if we needed any sauces to go as he was clearing our table. Very nice gentleman!! The food was delicious. Great taste and portion size. My only complaint on my Thai fried rice was that I felt it would have used more eggs as I didn't really notice any. But the flavor was definitely on point and I wouldn't hesitate to order it again. My friend was also very happy with her Pad Thai. Ricky's is decorated very clean and cute, and parking is available in the alley behind the business. The problem is that this place has parking around the back and it's super dusty due to construction, the front entrance doesn't have any parking, it's not a typical strip mall. If you love Thai food you need to visit this spot. Read about Ricky Thai Bistro reopening in the news and decided I had to come check out what they had to offer and I was not disappointed. It's casual spot with an unassuming store front but what awaits inside is some amazing food. The employees were friend and we were sat right away. I had the duck curry (never had it before) and WOW super crispy and very flavorful. My wife had the drunken noodles (one of her faves), this dish was good but the star of the show was definitely the duck curry. I cannot believe it took me so long to finally come to this restaurant. I have been driving to Ft. Lauderdale to get good Thai food when all along this amazing restaurant was just so close to me. We were able to try 3 different dishes; Thai Spring Rolls, were small, crispy and delicious. Pad Kee Moo - Drunken Noodles with shrimp was so good it's going to be hard not to order this dish every time I am there. And finally the Massaman Curry with chicken was one of the best we ever had. The ambience is as if you're a typical Thai restaurant very understated, colorful and loads of character. Apparently they're expanding to a larger size which I'm happy for them but I'm also a little bit afraid they may lose that beautiful quaint quality of small kind of hole in the wall out of the way secret paradise. Classic bistro ambiance with smooth jazz and a great wine selection! Service was absolutely stellar and the food is probably the best Thai food I have had in Miami... We started with the Ricky Thai Wings which were non-breaded and crispy with a sweet and spicy glaze and two Thai iced teas which were on the sweeter side yet still flavorful. For the main dishes, the drunken noodles and panang curry were exquisite! The panang curry had the perfect balance of coconut, savory and sweet with fresh vegetables, tender chicken, and a side of jasmine rice. My favorite to go spot for Thai food in Miami. The food is always delicious. If you like spicy heat, they offer 3 different levels. The staff is nice and attentive. I love their Pad Thai, that's my favorite dish. The parking is an issue during peak hours. Also they started charging a tourist tax. I think that's what it's called, which I find weird. It wasn't much though. I would eat there more often; however I believe they don't open on Sundays and Monday's. On the days they do operate their doors open at 3 or 4 pm. So if you're thinking about lunch here, forget about it. They also do not offer service on third party food apps. :-( read more

If I could give this place 10 stars I would, but 5 will do. I did not expect much from this tiny hole in the wall, finding good Asian food in Miami has been a mission impossible. But this was close to it. Upon arrival we were welcomed by a family of ducks outside. We were told it would be a 10 minute wait which we had no issue with. They came outside to let us know our ta le was ready. The service was spectacular, friendly, welcoming & they were so happy to serve every single guest. This is more of a local spot, you can tell the ppl that come here love this hidden gem. The beers were nice and cold! Now to the food! We started with the shrimp coconut soup, omg it was delicious the right amount of sweet and spicy with delicious veggies and shrimp 10/10 recommend. Please note the entrees portions are huge so order to share. We ordered the Thai basil shrimp & pineapple friend rice with shrimp. OMG it was delicious, full or flavor and the fish was delicious. I highly recommend, however it was too big to finish. This place is amazing and I hope it continues to stay amazing! Prices were great and I cannot wait to return. Wow! My friend suggested I come here because I was in the area and I'm so happy I did! It's a super lowkey spot but the food is amazing. The service we had was also so so good. She was incredibly sweet and made conversation with us and suggested good dishes. Here's what we ordered: - KAO NIAO MOO TOD: you must order this! It's Papaya salad with sticky rice and pork strips. These pork strips were my favorite part of the whole meal! Ask for the papaya salad a little spicy. We forgot to do that and wished we did - Pad See Ew was really good too! Can't go wrong with this and they have a great one - Crab Fried Rice; not my favorite crab fried rice EVER but it was really good.
