I stopped by on a weekday evening after discovering this hidden gem. It's easy to miss from the main road since both the parking and entrance are located in the back. The restaurant opens at 4:00 p.m., so there are no lunch specials. We arrived just a few minutes after opening and had our pick of seating. The dining room is on the smaller side, and given its high ratings, I'd recommend arriving early. Not long after we were seated, the tables started filling up quickly. Our server was friendly, attentive, and offered several excellent personal recommendations. To start, we ordered the vegetable spring rolls, which were delicious and came with five generously sized rolls. For my entrée, I chose the chicken Pad Thai. When I asked about adding spice, our server suggested ordering it on the side, which turned out to be the perfect recommendation. The Pad Thai arrived promptly and was absolutely delicious, and being able to adjust the spice level to my liking made the dish even better. I'm updating my review based on my recent visit to Ricky Thai Bistro. I came again last night with my bestie and it was a perfect experience from start to finish. Service was exceptional. We were greeted and seated right away, and someone immediately came to provide menus and water. I love that they leave you with a cold bottle of water on the table! Our waiter came and checked in on us quickly thereafter and food came very quickly! He continued to check in with us intermittently and the bus person who gave the water and menus also asked if we needed any sauces to go as he was clearing our table. Very nice gentleman!! The food was delicious. Great taste and portion size. My only complaint on my Thai fried rice was that I felt it would have used more eggs as I didn't really notice any. But the flavor was definitely on point and I wouldn't hesitate to order it again. My friend was also very happy with her Pad Thai. Ricky's is decorated very clean and cute, and parking is available in the alley behind the business. First, I will start with saying that since we have started coming to Ricky Thai bistro, overall we have enjoyed the food, but I have to say that lately I've been noticing certain things that I've ordered to not be consistent in flavor, For example, the Tom Ka soup that lately has tasted extremely salty and spicy to where it is hard to eat which we've almost returned it twice, but decided not to so that we would not be standout customers, although every time my partner and I walk in there, we are greeted with.... "your early today" when we have never arrived there any later than one time 20 minutes before closing time, and the owner looked at his watch and looked at us and said that we are late but still served us. then another time when he looked at his watch and said we were right on the line...timewise to be able to sit down and place an order that was exactly at 9:35pm And once again, we were greeted yesterday when we went there earlier in the day... greeted with "you're early today" That's when I should have told him that the Tom Ka soup was extremely salty and spicy that both my partner and I should have returned it. Another time we were confronted in a way that I feel was inappropriate. We sat down at a table that was four tables together, and it was not busy at that time for him to come up to us and tell us to please move to a two seat table, and then when we have gone in there after that we have been told to sit at a two seated table only so really I think he needs to be more of a sergeant in the army than maybe running a restaurant. He likes to reprimand customers. When he said wow, you're early today I should have told him yes we are early because when we come later in the evening we feel like we are interrupting the owner and his family sitting down having dinner at a table next to us. They are always eating when we are there lol... too funny. Also to add... every time I've been there ...trying to finish my dinner the plates are swept away, exactly as I am finished. I really feel rushed at this restaurant and don't really think that it is necessary to be spraying cleaning chemicals on tables right next to you when you're eating it happens all the time... at least wait until the customer has finished their meal. Anyway, I don't know if the experience that we are encountering is really worth going there anymore. read more

The ambience is as if you're a typical Thai restaurant very understated, colorful and loads of character. Apparently they're expanding to a larger size which I'm happy for them but I'm also a little bit afraid they may lose that beautiful quaint quality of small kind of hole in the wall out of the way secret paradise.
