Thai food is never my favorite, but I will eat it. It was a gal in our vacation group's birthday and she loves Thai, so we found this little gem on Yelp based on the good reviews. The secret is clearly out, because even for an early dinner in the off season there was about a 30 minute wait. They offered us wine while we waited which took the edge off. There were seven of us and they seated us at a table that was probably too small, but it was better than continuing to wait. The dining room inside is small, and there is also outdoor seating, but I overheard people complaining about bugs outside. I was happy to be crowded inside rather than bugged outside. We were told the dishes tend to be small and to order plenty, so we did. With the small table it was a little awkward to place and pass everything, but we managed. We ordered a lot of dishes (see photos, though I still think I missed a few). The standouts for me were the dumplings and the noodles.

Rickshaw is super popular with the local Ketchum crowd, and for good reason. Located downtown just off the main drag it's an easy walk from just about anywhere in town or from one of the many bus stops. This SE Asian-fusion restaurant is small and there's frequently a wait, but they offer outside seating and have a few spots at the bar which is where we sat. Plan ahead and enjoy the fresh, mountain air while you wait. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable and made great recommendations . Most of the dishes are tapas-style, small plates. Great for sharing and trying a number of things. We had the cucumbers, chili oil noodles, Andrea's potstickers, Korean Fried Chicken (aka KFC) and green curry chicken. Everything was original, served at the appropriate temp and, of course, delish. I wouldn't have minded a little more heat but each dish had lots of flavor. I appreciated that there were some vegan/vegetarian options. Our server said they are happy to sub tofu in for chicken or other protein whenever possible. We've been staying at the Sun Valley Lodge for a few days which is great, but I appreciate that Rickshaw offers world class food in reasonable portions at fair prices. With a glass of wine and two mocktails our dinner was only a little more than our poolside lunch at the lodge (one sandwich and two drinks). We're coming back to Sun Valley next month with family. Rickshaw is on our short list of places to eat.

6:30pm on a Wednesday summer night, and Rickshaw was hopping! The wait was long but there were seats at the bar, so my friend and I grabbed them. Loved the open kitchen and laid back Asian fusion vibes. Green Curry Chicken hit the spot! It was so fresh and flavorful! I've had a LOT of green curry (even in Thailand) in my life - this is easily in the best ever. Didn't try anything else but would go back any day of the week. No issues with the service - great experience!

We wanted so badly to give this place a 5. Docking a point because the flavors just weren't quite as good as we hoped. Don't get me wrong, everything we had was flavorful but it was missing that oomph that a 5-star deserves. We had the Dahl soup, hoisin cashew-shrimp, and chiang mai curry noodles. Good service and nice cozy vibe for a cold winter evening. Would love to try more on the menu!

One of the best places in Ketchum and most unique. You can order on line to go or eat in or outside when the weather allows. The food is outstanding; the service is awesome and friendly. The ambiance is warm and local. Don't miss this spot and try as many items as you can.

Szechuan chicken dumplings We asked for easy heat still a great taste

Holy Unexpected Yum Batman !! This place came highly recommended and did not dissapoint it is fantastic -cozy but comfortable - strong wine list and all the dishes are great pics of what we ordered don't do justice and we didn't have room for the fried chicken but hear it's a must The wait staff was great and helpful with any questions No Reservations - you have to put your name on a wait list - but sooo worth it we were here in the winter but a big outdoor fire and a glass of wine kept us happy while we waited ... along with a some great chats lot of locals and out of towners Truly a dinner and hang ! Ps went back for take out the next day

My partner did enjoy this spot more than I did. And the service was 5/5, plus cute interior. But for me, the food had no flavor and definitely didn't live up to the hype.... The chili oil noodles tasted pretty sweet (noodles did have a good chew) and left me wanting more spiciness. We got extra chili oil to add, but it didn't do much honestly. While the ingredients were great, I felt like all of the sauces were missing something. The flavors aren't prominent, everything tasted like a variation of watered down soy sauce. Actual spice could've helped but you also can't hide the lack of flavor behind spiciness... Maybe stronger acidic notes would help as well. And more garlic, ginger, MSG (MSG is wrongly vilified & would've been a great umami addition here)... For the quality of the ingredients used, I can understand the price. However, the portions coupled with bland taste left me pretty disappointed.

INCREDIBLE!! is what I have to say! If you have the opportunity to try out this restaurant, put your name on that waitlist and wait for this one because you won't regret it! There are some other bar/restaurants within walking distance where you can grab a drink at while you wait, so it made waiting go by even quicker. I came here with a group of friends and we were able to grab a table outside which was great! The weather was perfect and the outdoor seating area was very welcoming. Our server was on top of things which made the experience all the better, because we ordered so much off of the menu! The menu is comprised of so many delightful, shareable dishes! We ordered the following: Green Papaya Salad: Such a fresh and delicious dish! The lemongrass and cilantro really brighten up the flavor of the dish, and it comes with a side spoon full hot Thai chilies for those who want to add a kick to their bite! Hoisin Cashew-Shrimp: One of our favorite dishes; so much so that we ended up getting a second order! The sauce was so full of flavor and the shrimp was cooked to perfection. Samui Squid: The batter on this was just the right amount to add a soft crunch. The dipping sauce was light, yet complex, and had a nice acidity to it. K.F.C. (Korean Fried Chicken): I could rave about how exceptional this chicken was until I reached the ends of the earth. This was a second dish that we got a second order of after polishing the first order. They have absolutely perfected the crispiness on this chicken and the flavor had the perfect level of spice to it. This is a MUST ORDER item. Chili-Oil Noodles: Upon first look, you may notice that the noodles are hard to find under the piling of various toppings. Give it a stir and buckle in for some of the best udon noodles you've ever had. The different toppings provide such a nice crunch that pair with the noodles while the chili oil still prevails as a prominent flavor in the dish. Andreas' pot-stickers: I didn't partake in this dish, but it looked very well made! They had a great wrapper-to-filling ratio and had a beautiful golden brown cook to them! Sake: They only offer cold sake on the menu, which is a plus for me as I prefer cold sake to hot. We ordered a few different bottles including the Joto Yuzu, the Joto Junmai Nigori, and one other bottle (name escapes me). All were delicious, but I will caution to only order the Yuzu one if you do like that very citrus forward flavor. We anticipated that the flavor would be lightly flavored with the yuzu, but the citrus was not hiding anywhere here. I will think about this meal for a long time and I hope to return very soon to try even more outstanding dishes!

Yum!!! I love Rickshaw! Definitely stop here when visiting Ketchum. There will pretty much always be a long wait here because it's really small inside, but it's worth it I promise! Or get it to go. I've tried the Potstickers, Thai Chicken Sate, Chiang Mai Curry Noodles, Pearl Balls (Chicken Dumplings), and Caramel Pork Ribs. All of the dishes were super good and full of flavor! My favorite is the Chiang Mai noodles. I felt like it got better the more I ate it! And it's a pretty good amount of food. I literally drank the sauce when I was done! The ribs are great but have a pretty strong kick in some bites, so beware of that if you're sensitive to spice! The Chicken Sate is a great option too, because it comes with rice and the delicious Papaya Salad! It's nice to have the variety. I feel like prices are totally reasonable for the quality of food you get here. Highly recommend!

Food is super yummy, service was friendly and fast enough considering how slammed they were on a Friday evening. Excellent ambiance.
