Let me tell you about my experience with Rickey's Towing Service. My car had broken down while I had been out shopping. The tow truck driver got my car and I to the garage and then everything went South. After depositing the key in the night service slot I got back into the truck for the ride home.The driver looked at me as if I'd grown another head, asked me what I was doing, told me his boss wouldn't allow it, theatrically leapt from the truck to call his boss, got back in and refused to give me a ride in spite of the fact my home was right on his return route. So there I was, a 74 year old guy with his oxygen tank slung over his shoulder, abandoned to hitch-hike home in a thunderstorm that was just starting. What do you think? Absolutely horrible. My Volvo (2013) died, AAA could not help to get it started. Volvo provides free towing as part of their package. I called Volvo to get a tow to the nearest dealer, about twelve miles away. They took the call from Volvo and told them the tow would arrive in 15 minutes. Then they called me and said 40. Hour and a half later the guy shows up with an attitude. Traffic. Other calls. The usual. Except he was coming from Connecticut to Portsmouth RI, no way he could have gotten to my car in less than an hour plus. But they made false representations about the time. Meanwhile, on a Friday afternoon, the windows of the car are open, cannot close them, and the dealer is about to close. I tell the guy that he has to wait for a minute while I talk to the dealership to make sure they can get the car secured before closing, since Ricky took so long to get to me. He threatened to leave. The guy at Ricky's swore at me. When they arrived so late Volvo was already trying to get another service to respond. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS, swear at them, give false arrival times, and generally think they are doing YOU a favor by being paid to tow your car. Called at 2:25. They arrived at almost 4. No traffic. I checked on Waze. Only reason they took so long was that they started an hour or more away. And then gave Volvo incorrect ETA, I guess so Volvo would not get someone else. When I called them their response was, "I don't f****g care. Nasty people. read more
