When I was being Dermaplaned, she cut my face and I ended up walking out of this medi spa with a bloody cut chin and mask all over my hair and face. It was very unprofessional. I was really looking forward to a nice facial but was extremely disappointed because I wasted my time and money. I have now been home for 20 minutes and my face is still bleeding. Although my facial was not great, the receptionist was very nice and the place was clean and cute.

Moving to a new city and trying to find a doctors office that will fit your needs can be daunting…read more I had a couple of not so good tries, and then I found the family practice team at Avenue Health. First, the staff is pleasant. They greet you when you walk in and the place looks like home rather than a cold sterile Doctors Office. I was greeted twice and taken into a room right on time. I think they are careful not to overscheduled people which I really appreciate. The MA was kind and cheerful and very personable. She took my vitals and did the preliminary questions. Next came the PA, who sat and listened to my story, asked questions and took her time. That was extraordinary. She was thorough and easy to talk to. I've been back several times and each has been a great experience. Staff always is at the ready and completely professional to deal with. In a world where everything's become do it yourself, hands off and very sterile, have a new health is a breath of fresh air. Outstanding.

We had a moment of confusion concerning my gender, but the Medical Staff was only unfamiliar with my paperwork dilemma. ("Is this an Insurance form or a Medical Form?" is the sort of question a Non-Binary person has to ask when there is only a binary checkbox and it is almost never labeled with the correct terminology. Obvs, nobodies fault stuff like that happens all the time. :) The Medical Assistants were all quick, efficient and genuinely pleased to be of service! They got me in early for my appointment too. I won't say my Doctor's name, but they were openly and respectfully curious as to how they might be of service to a Transgender Person, when so often the past told a different story. :( My Doctor addressed my every concern and meeting with them was very pleasant. The fish tank next to the check-out desk has an _Actual_Literal_Sea_Urchin_! They are very black, except for their orange rude part, and about nine inches across. The Staff Person at the check-out desk was friendly and enthusiastic! They walked me through every step of the check-out process with a smile! The Medical Assistant thanked me for coming in today! I am totally 100% assured that they will follow up with me at every opportunity and that our relationship will continue to be successful and pleasant.

Wrong prescription was sent to pharmacy…read more Was on hold for a total of two and a half hours, to be told a nurse would call me back. She never did, went there the next day in person and spoke to a nurse practitioner (Beth)who changed the prescription. Her attitude was horrible, told me I was rude for asking to speak with someone in person. She said that my situation was not an urgency, and that it was rude to show up in person to ask for the correction to be made. Then she went on to claim that the reason behind their ineptness was lack of employees. Let me be frank, she is an awful person with a passive aggressive attitude who should not be allowed to speak with patients. Please avoid this place

We called in ahead of time and gave them the insurance information. My wife needed her wisdom teeth removed. They told us our insurance covers that. Great. So my wife went in and got the procedure done. Everything seemed super. Then... we got the bill. It was something like $400 - $500!! I'm like... what? Called them up and they're like, yeah, your insurance doesn't cover extractions. I told them that we verified this beforehand and you told us that they do cover extractions. She admitted that she said that and said she was just wrong. I'm OK, so what are you going to do about it? She's like... well, nothing, you have to pay. I'm like listen, you told me the price of the procedure up front. There were no complications and no extra charges. You can't just change the price on me by like $400 and just expect me to pay. We talked to her, her manager, etc. etc. Nobody was willing to understand. At the least, I expected to pay a reduced amount. That was my thought. It was your mistake, but I'm a reasonable guy. If the insurance is not going to pay you anything, then maybe we can split the difference. Nothing... no cooperation at all. I didn't want to deal with collections and risk my credit, so I just paid it. However, I will never go back and I will tell people I know about what they did.

First, his office rocks because they take Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO. Second, I was unsure of what to expect, so I logged onto yelp RIGHT before my appt and saw all the five star reviews. Wheew. I felt a bit relieved. Third, my own experience was great. I was seen promptly. Everyone here is nice and they seem to enjoy working here (which is a HUGE plus). My xrays were taken and I found out they were digital so they could immediately see them on the computer screen! So high tech!! After the xrays, I saw the assistant wipe down everything for sanitation purposes. EXCELLENT!!! In case you are wondering, he graduated in 2004 from University of Michigan and worked in Florida for a year before moving to Chicago to start his own practice. The office was pretty booked but the staff really works with your schedule to fit you in. I did not feel rushed at all and I felt like Dr. Nasif really knew what he was doing. Dr. Nasif was gentle and not too rough on my teeth and gums. The cleaning was different from my usual cleanings in that they used baking powder crystals to clean my teeth. It was a little salty but I really liked it more than the usual polishing I get. I have experienced a lot of terrible dentists in Chicago and I feel really lucky to have accidentally found Dr. Nasif. Looking forward to the next appointment! Thank you!
