They cleaned my chimney, repaired a crack on the fireplace insert, vacuumed the inside of the fireplace and even wiped the glass clean. Tom put down a throw so that nothing got on my carpet and the throw was carefully folded up so not one speck of soot was in my house. They also repaired a plumbing boot on the roof and repaired some trim. This was also done carefully and quickly. I will definitely use them again because they did a great job but they also did a few extra things that I appreciated. I was bringing in the garbage can and CJ grabbed the other one and brought it in. They saw where I found the extra paint and put it away when they finished. Finally, one of dogs had taken some of the stuffing out of a toy and they picked it up as they were cleaning up from the fireplace work. I will definitely use them again!

Our main issue was a chimney that was leaking into our third floor bedroom. In asking around, the only company that we were told to call was AMERICAN CHIMNEY. I will say at first that I was a little put off because their assistant/receptionist does not answer the phone much, and they appear to prefer communicating with customers via email; however, now I am a believer. They are simply very busy, and email is the best way to properly respond to everyone. And these guys know their stuff. They do beautiful work. We had American Chimney come out to initially give us a quote on rebuilding our chimneys (we have four of them). They are not cheap, but you get what you pay for. This may sound dumb, but I keep going outside to stare at how great our chimney looks now. Because we live in a historic district, American Chimney mixes a special mortar that was used at the time that these house were built so that the new chimney matches the house. They took off every brick from our old chimney and relayed those same bricks with the new mortar, adding new chimney caps. Gorgeous, gorgeous work, and very pleasant folks who showed up to do the job (I think we had the owners son do our job...very sweet). If you need masonry work done, it's very important to have it done right. This is your home! Send these guys out to do the work...no job is too small. You will not regret it!

I was a bit frustrated because they were offering cookie cutter solutions/services without really identifying the issue(s) causing the extreme cold. I called Dr Energy Service (DES) and was fortunate to have the owner, Chris Shepard come out and provide an energy audit. As you can imagine with the age of our home, he discovered there is no insulation in the walls, ceilings of the 1st floor and to make matters worse, our furnace is located in the attic, which means the solution must push heat down to the lower level! This is a unique situation which called for unconventional solutions. Chris listened, educated , and offered budget friendly options, including those that did NOT use their services. He was a man of integrity, patience, and knowledge. We were very cold, and he could have taken advantage of the situation and sold us all kinds of services; but he didn't! That spoke volumes and this year I called him back and together we determined a plan of action to warm our home. On 12/31, the crew (Jordan, Tyler, Cameron, Brayden, and Jake) came out to perform the work. The guys were punctual (8:15am), professional, courteous, and worked non stop the get the work completed in a timely manner.
