Short version: My $355 glass replacement turned into an $1800 glass replacement…read more Long version: I am giving a two star review and not a one star review because the two women who work at the front desk were very polite and responsive. The delivery team of two men was also kind and professional however the glass maker was probably one of the rudest individuals I have ever encountered. I called All Star Glass to see what their typical wait time for replacing a piece of glass was and they notified me 24-48 hours. After reading the Google reviews it seemed that this was the norm for them. This was important to me because I dropped the glass off on a Monday and needed it by the latest Thursday because I had a flight out of Nashville at the end of the week. I also didn't want to not have a front window for my living room for the entire week especially when I was not there. No worries however because I was told it would be done Tuesday. After receiving no update on my glass, I called them back and was told it would be done the next day (Wednesday). After again receiving no update on Wednesday, I called again and was told it would be done Thursday. By the time Thursday rolled around I called back and was told it would be done Friday even though I made it clear early in the week that I had a flight to catch. When I called Thursday, the woman at the front desk handed the phone over to the glass maker who immediately started yelling and getting very angry, telling me that NO ONE told me the glass would be done in 24-48 hours (just read the other comments. This seems to be the norm) and that HE told me it would be done Friday (I would have never agreed to this in the first place considering I had a flight and wouldn't be able to get the glass on Friday). The glass maker continuously called me a liar, yelling at me, threatening to hang up and not make the glass, saying that no one told me 24-48 hours despite the fact that I was told MULTIPLE times that this is how long the order would take. I tried being cordial as I shared my frustrations of needing to now change my flight but the glass maker didn't care, continuing to throw personal jabs and calling me a liar, referring me to the worst customer he has ever dealt with. Every time I tried calming him down (because I really did need the glass) he continued throwing personal shots at me. Very unprofessional. $355 for glass and $1500 later for having to change flights at the last second, the glass is installed. I would strongly recommend that the owner of All Star Glass gets a new glass maker as the current one is not well.

They cleaned up after themselves too. It was a good experience and I am happy with my new windows. The argon in the windows was non-existent and the screens were either missing and/or damaged. I had contacted a couple of home improvement stores and a contractor. For different reasons, either they weren't timely on getting back to me or I wasn't happy with the product lines they sold I was finding it hard to find windows and the type of quality work we so desired. I contacted a contractor friend of mine and he recommended Commonwealth Building Products and said to ask for Todd. I did so, and he immediately set up a time to come out for a consult and to measure. Todd was very professional and personable. He answered any questions we might have concerning the windows/doors and installation. Due to the crazy Ky weather that we always seem to experience, our original installation date was delayed. During this time Todd phoned us to let us know the contractors they use to install were running behind due to weather and that they hadn't forgotten about us. We thought this was very considerate as we were anxiously awaiting these new windows/doors. The installers did an awesome job with the installation and Todd managed to stop by from beginning to end. Just checking to make sure we were happy and that there were no issues. The installers they hired were very neat and professional. Cleaning up every day after themselves. There were a couple of screens that were damaged and there was an issue with one of the doors, but Todd saw to it that all of the above was handled in a very timely manner. We absolutely love our new windows and doors. It's amazing how much we really do enjoy the beautiful "views" we now have. We would highly reccomend Commonwealth Building Products as they made the whole process so easy and the end result adds so much to our home.

We had a project we needed done-- the fascia and soffits sealed around our house as they had become…read moreloose and were allowing wasps entry into the basement--and some research led us to Mr. Goodroof. Nick came out to do an inspection, and in the process of doing so discovered some issues with our pipes and vents on the roof, some items that pictures made clear could quickly lead to serious damage if the wrong winds/rain came through. He showed us a detailed video of the inspection, then offered multiple quotes based on what approach we wanted to take. I appreciated how thorough and how efficient he was-- I've been in situations where at this point in the review an agent for a major company will only offer you the highest possible quotes and make them sound like an emergency and basically take as long as they can in your house to wear you down in hopes that you'll agree to the sell. Nick and Mr. Goodroof did NOT do this and this instantly won us over. We actually opted for a combination of two of the quotes/plans of action he presented, and he worked up a new quote for that. They offered a variety of payment options, including a 12 months same as cash option that you can apply for and access on your phone quickly. We scheduled the service and they had a crew out in less than a week to get the job done. They worked quickly and efficiently. There was some miscommunication on the quotes, plan of action, and updated responses (like the finished report detailing the work done, particularly important for us as the day of the work the approach shifted somewhat and we just wanted to understand why). We never doubted the quality of the work, but due to being burned in the past by other companies, had some reservations. We voiced those complaints and Nick + others at the company got back to us to go over and explain the situation. They explained the reason for the changes, the delayed updates (some due to automation processes on billing etc.), and sent out the crew + Nick (at a 3rd date) to do a final inspection and report. I'm going a "4" which in my book is "great". The price we paid for the work that was done was fair, the work was quality, and both the sell and final report were handled perfectly. Due to some confusion and crossed wires (that took about a week or so of going back and forth) that hindered my enthusiasm of the project briefly in the interim, I'm docking just the one star that would make this a "perfect" experience. I fully intend to use these folks again for some other tasks next year and I have every expectation that they'll bump up to a full "5" at that point ("perfect").
