Here are some tips for success: 1- Call the SSA's 800 # to make an appointment for this office. At the same time ask the person what you should prepare to bring with you (forms, id, other members of the family, etc etc); 2- Arrive for your appt 10 min early so you have time to get through the security check (similar to TSA at airport). There is plenty of FREE Parking there! 3- Be kind to the security check people -- they're just doing their job. 4- Have everything in hand for your appt, so when you're called to go to a Window, you're ready. They will first ask for your ID. 5- Both times I visited this office, the window agents were first rate. They answered all my questions and gave me tips on how to proceed afterwards. I really appreciate the competence + excellence of all the people I've interacted with here.

It does not state on website that they will only see you to show documents with an appointment. Wasted my time going in only to be told I needed an appointment. Spoke to speak to the manager Karina V and she never came out. Left after waiting for 20 min. They were looking at me through their window but didn't come out. I wanted to show them what the website stated as to prevent further issues with other people. It's unfair to the people that come in following directions that their website provides.

THMM is a senior retirement community with many low income residents. Many of the residents are on Social Security and the surrounding area has many low income seniors as well. For many years the Contra Costa Food Bank has been handing out food once a month to low income people in the parking lot of the facility. While the facility is owned by the County they have allowed The Fathers House, a church to hand out the food supplied by the food bank. The 200 plus families that received food this morning, were informed that Contra Costa County will no longer allow the distribution of food at the site. This makes no sense. The facility has no programs during the day on a weekly basis. The ball field is empty when games are not scheduled. I live next to the area the rode is seldom used. I doubt seriously that the surrounding food distribution sites will be able to absorb the families who are no longer able to receive food from this facility. How far can low income people afford to drive with the high cost of gas. Some even walk to pick up food. I went there today, there were many older people there, not young people who are able to work, retired, low income mostly. We were not given a reason, just told we cannot come back in January. I would like to know who do we talk to in order to at least be listened to and a reason for the loss of a place that serves and contributes to our Seniors and other low income groups.

The only reason I'd come to San Pablo is for the Casino - and its a terrible one - probably one of the worst in the bay area. I know way back when they had table games and there was a "bank" and they would charge $1 for every hand. If you had a low bet and liked to sit for hours that was a disaster. Been across the street to the Nations. The city seems ok there next to the highway but it is not affluent at all. Seems like the casino just takes money away from parents with kids and many mouths to feed. And the casino is too close to all the blue collar families. Not sure why the city of San Pablo chose this location for a casino. If you are looking for gaming action I think Cache Creek is probably a better bet. Star Casino at their new Tracy location also ok for low bets.

I got a speeding ticket a while ago which was given to me by CHP, I was driving on I-580 West, I was driving on the second lane and I was surrounded by at least 10 cars. I was driving approximately 50 mph and I was on my way to exit the freeway on Marina Way/23rd Street in Richmond. Long story short I was given a ticket, don't remember the exact speed violation (I have to look for the citation), but it was between 60 to 65 mph. So I was stop on 23rd St like two blocks away from the freeway, (the officer was hiding I guess). So he told why I was stop, I denied politely the accusation and proceeded to sign the citation so I can go on my way home. Here is where things get a bit more interesting, fast forward to my court date. I decided to fight the ticket since I felt like it was unfair, so instead of arguing with the officer I put my faith on the court system naively thinking that they will do the right thing, I was obviously wrong. On my court date I took the day off from work and I was at the courthouse EARLY. So let's fast forward since this is getting way long. We were call inside the court room (people with citations). They proceed to tell us that the government system is there to help us and not to oppressed us, and they put a video to brainwashed you on how good the system is to you. Finally they start calling cases and it was going fast since not many people showed up. I looked around and I don't see any police officer so I'm like, (lucky me). First person is called in front of the judge, and she proceeded to tell him that his case was dismissed since no officer showed up. I was called next (YES), I was told to hand my citation and they proceeded to tell me I was dismissed as well, so I was given my citation with a yellow paper stating my case was been dismissed. I exited the court room and on my way to the exit of the courthouse (hallway) I encountered an officer and I greeted him with a good morning. As I reached the exit and I was like 3 steps from exiting the courthouse building, I was stoped by the officers (security guards) and I was told to go back to the court room where my case has just been dismissed. So here I'm walking back to the court room all confused, as I entered the room the judge call me to the front and said, YOU'RE NOT THAT LUCKY. The officer I encountered on the hallway on my way to the exit was the officer that gave me the ticket. So the judge said that she was going to proceed with my case even though she dismissed it minutes before, because the officer was there. (HE WAS LATE) and she did not care about that, instead of been JUST and tell the officer he was late she sent for me so I can be trial for my citation. This JUDGE was the perfect example for me that the SYSTEM is not on the people's side. They'll do anything to cover their butts and help themselves. I contacted a lawyer but did not proceed because I was going to spend more MONEY fighting the system, valuable money I can spend in my family's future. I have many details about my TRIAL where I confronted the judge and officer about the unfairness but this will go for days LOL. Finally I think I was treated unfair by a JUDGE that is the face of this disgraceful SYSTEM. Just remember that if you don't have the money to fight the system, basically you're screwed, because a JUDGE won't take you're word against an OFFICER.
