I was here when the building opened and they were still doing construction. I have it so easy living here. The building is sturdy and wonderful. The pool is great to have and so is the gym. Having a doorman is key. The high ceilings make this building wonderful to live in. I am on the 10th floor and have been in two different apartments. The countertops are tall which works well for taller people. It is a block from the Mineola train station which makes it so simple to go into nyc. Overall I recommend living in this building. I love it. I feel safe.

I was a perfect tenant; paid rent on time every month and left the apartment in pristine condition when I left (got the full security deposit back). After leaving I asked for a letter of recommendation for the new building I'm applying to live in (out of state). Kathleen was nasty for no reason and refused to give me anything, claiming it was no longer company policy to give letters of recommendation. This would be understandable except for the fact that they literally require letters from other landlords for tenants applying to live in their building. Extremely hypocritical and selfish.

The Selby - 695 Merrick Ave, Westbury, NY…read more We had an amazing stay at The Selby! The property is very new, modern, and exceptionally clean--one of the cleanest in the area. While most of the units are apartments, a few are available as rentals, which makes it feel more like staying in a high-end condo than a traditional hotel. The amenities are outstanding: a fully equipped gym, game room, club room, reading lounge, and a beautiful pool area. The unit itself came with everything we needed, including a washer and dryer, fridge, electric cooktop, microwave, Nespresso machine, and reliable WiFi. The staff was also incredibly friendly and professional, making the experience even better. If you're looking for a comfortable, upscale place to stay in Westbury, The Selby is an excellent choice.

This Prime property is just steps from Downtown Flushing. I always get a wave and a smile from the well attired uniformed Doorman on duty in the lobby. He seems to do much more than just being a Doorman. I see him coordinating clean up and making sure not only the sidewalk in front of his building but the interior Lobby is always on point. I love the holiday windows that the Barbizon takes great expense to provide for the public as they walk by. Their two large windows are always festively decorated for the seasons. Thank you. Inside the lobby you can see the beautiful fireplace and large holiday wreath above the Doorman's podium. As one of the more desirable old style Brownstone Apartments, The Barbizon is among one of my choices for future residency. Thanks for reading my Reviews everybody. I had to give The Barbizon a shout out, the Doorman is always so friendly and courteous when I pass by and it's one of the nicer apartments in downtown Flushing. With a walking commute to Downtown Chinatown Flushing of less than 5 minutes. See you folks again soon. JIM D.

Housekeeping was timely and thorough and the property is centrally located. Downside for us was there were few amenities - water/soft drinks were available in a vending machine. We both thought it would benefit from some additional food/coffee options outside of the room. All around a decent option just not exceptional.

Their response and efficiency in solving issues is wonderful. They are always respectful and accommodating . Also the grounds are kept beautifully and well maintained too. One very negative issue here, I have to say is the issue of inconsiderate smokers who sit on their porches or decks and smoke constantly which pollutes their neighbor's apartments. There should be a stipulation to have smokers step 50 ft away from their building while engaging in smoking or better yet make this a "smoke free" community That would be a definite healthier solution. If it weren't for the cigarette pollution I would give Southwood 5 stars for sure.
