I couldn't be happier. So kind, informative, and thorough about their work. My '07 jeep grand Cherokee broke down on my way to Asheville. I had it towed here based on some other Yelp reviews I had seen. As a jeep owner, with a lot of trips to various mechanics over the years, I've had various issues. They're the real deal! I live in Greensboro, but would be a regular customer if I were closer. Chris seemed like an honest guy who would give good thorough service every time, taking pride in his work. He even drove my car a few times after fixing it to make sure there were no issues! read more

Have you ever gone on a trip out of town and had your car breakdown that's exactly what happened to me I was in a town didn't know anyone had no real good references and my car broke down. I yelped a mechanic that I didn't know and it actually turned out well. they came and towed my car, delivered a price to me and fixed it just as they said they would. the work was timely the price wasn't out of bounds and they took care of me all while I was out of town. I could not have asked for more. Plus the shop was spotless clean and the front desk lady was so kind and considerate I really enjoyed working with the shop. And I would recommend them any day of the week hands down. read more

Well, where to start... my neighbor recommended Ritchie's so I took my car up for oil change and oil pan gasket seal replacement. Got the car back and it's leaking oil. Chris said to bring it back and he'll look at it. Also notice idle on car is a little different; wonder if he took it upon himself to adjust it. Then, next day husband brought car in to have a/c fixed; just picked it up and a/c still not blowing cold. We were due to leave town for family crisis tomorrow. Instead I'll be at Ritchie's trying to get a/c fixed which puts our family crisis on hold. $600 later; I'll give Chris one more chance to fix both issues and if he fails, I'll have to take my licks and move on to find another mechanic. Chris is a real nice guy but I'm spending my hard earned money to get things fixed, and he should be double checking his mechanics work to ensure they've done a successful job of repairs. read more

Top notch!! Chris the man who answers the phone and seemingly manages the place is honest and straight forward. He has a lot of knowledge and will tell you like it is but won't take your wallet for a ride. The price is fair and the receptionist is so friendly and helpful!! They even have a cute little lobby to sit in while you wait-- which isn't long! Definitely found my "car guy" in my new home of Taylorsville,Nc! read more

Well, I recently had the pleasure of wasting my weekend, because of the total incompetence and lack of experience , and dishonest auto garage , ever !!! ,.. I am not a country pumpkin , but this garage thought they would take advantage of me , I had a negative battery cable shorting.. that was over 200$ , to fix and not replace the cable ..go figure.. then the worst part i go to pick up car and the windshield wipers don't work,.. so now i am without a car for another 3 hours and the garage says you will need a new wiper switch, thankfully they didn't have part in stock,.I had a educated auto person look at the car, it turns out , they pulled out the wiper fuse and stuck that fuse in a blank spot,..yep i couldn't believe this happen.. so take your chances ... but not here ... read more

Richey's Automotive has been in the auto repair business for over 44 years. Located in Bethlehem, we are conveniently within minutes of the Hickory, Granite Falls, and Taylorsville areas. We regularly service customers within a 40 mile radius. Our honest and experienced team are definitely worth the drive.

History

Established in 1977.

After several years in dealership service, Chris Richey, owner of Richeys Automotive, built his first auto repair garage in 1977. The same people that first started coming back then for auto repair and service with just one bay are still coming back today, only to 8 bays. When ask what the secret to his success was, Chris said it was the lessons he learned about good customer service from the people he worked with early on and family values. Communication is the key. Both sides have to understand what is going on. Only then can customer satisfaction be obtained.

At 2:25pm I asked the gentleman at the front desk for an ETA and he said "Uh 10-15 minutes, I had to remind my guy politely that he had an alignment to do". So I walk back to my seat. A couple minutes go by and an employee walks to the desk and he reminds him again that there is another alignment to do. A couple minutes after that, three employees are standing with the door open from the lobby to the bay area talking about how there are more than 4 alignments to do. I walk up to the desk and one of them popped his head in and before I could say anything he says "He's about to take it off the lift now so he is almost done". I do not mind waiting, if it's the appropriate amount of time to wait for what I came in for. I fully expected to be here until 2pm considering there was only 1 or 2 cars already in the bay. However, I don't think that it is appropriate to tell the customer that one of the employees basically just forgot that there was an alignment when there were 4 other customers in the shop waiting for alignments as well. The staff was nice, I just don't think I will be returning to this location to get my car serviced.

However, it typically does not cover whatever your vehicles issues are. At this point my best option is to park the POS and pay down on it until I can trade it. I will never deal with Michs again. Our 2019 740i has had over $13k in repairs since it was bought 6 months ago. That is not an exaggeration. If you buy a car from them, I would suggest at minimum looking at the CARFAX, and then take it to a trusted mechanic and have them go over it, before you buy (something my dumbass didnt do). Michs has a great setup, they make money from selling you a car, then make even more money from fixing it! Hell of a business model. Time to call the BBB.
