RichesArt Gallery!

One of the best art galleries in Austin! Filled with so much talent, history and culture! Riches Art Gallery is the place to be!! It's not just an art gallery they also host wonderful events on a weekly basis such as Jazz in Color, poetry nights, and art classes (focused on a variety of different mediums!) Tonight I attended the Jazz in Color session with Singer Scarlet! She was very vivacious and an incredible artist! Tonight was a lot of fun! Tickets for the event were $15 which included complimentary beverages and refreshments! I look forward to attending future events! Worth every penny! I also had the pleasure of hosting my majestic themed birthday party here!! Rich was awesome to coordinate with and very professional. If you need to book an event space book this place! They also offer in house DJ and Bar for an add on fee (totally worth it!) Phenomenal venue, beautiful artwork and gracious staff that helped make the day very special!! Riches Art is located on the east side so carpool if you can. There is street parking available in the area! Definitely check it out for yourself!

I was blown away at Riches Art Gallery. My wife and I went for a poetry night. All of the poets were unbelievable. The drinks were great. I was amazed at the community feel in the building. Everyone who attended was willing to meet each other and socialize and exchange information. And the crowd overwhelmingly wanted to support the artists. The art in the building was beautiful and there was a wide selection. They host a ton of events there from painting classes to standup comedy nights to live figure drawing classes. Well worth the value as tickets are reasonably priced. A must see!

My visit for the comedy show was pretty great - it was funny! The gallery itself is a gem. Yes, parking can be a little tricky, but it's a minor point compared to everything else. I loved discovering the arcade upstairs! The art collection is vast and varied; parents should be aware that some pieces as well as events (like a comedy show) are quite mature, reflecting art's expressive nature. However, for a unique and enjoyable experience, this gallery is top-notch, and I highly recommend it for a memorable time with loved ones, or if you're like me this a spot where you can definitely have a good time by yourself!

This was a cool stop while the in-laws were in town. We all enjoyed the artwork and the story behind it which the kind lady working gave us the background on as we entered. Lots of different genres to look at. They have a gift shop and antique shop in the back which both have artwork for sale as well. Entry was free which is always a plus. They do take donations as it's still a business they have to run. I would highly recommend stopping by if in the area. Posting a few pics for reference but there is much more to see.

Cute art studio. I went during Hispanic month and the are was vibrant! There's not a lot of parking on the street or in the parking lot. You might want to park on other side streets if you can find any. There's also a bar and food trucks around the corner.

Really nice people and artists are found here. A fun new discovery in East Austin not far from downtown. They do host music events in addition to art shows and there are several interesting things one can purchase. The SXSW crowd should schedule some talks over here! I learned about the space on Facebook.

It is an open space with all sorts of art supplies, tools, and just about anything your imagination can muster up. Lots of inspiration. I was hoping to make more than just one small block and have different supplies like fabric for printing. It was very therapeutic to carve my small block. The class felt a little scattered - but it was a very easy going environment, super relaxed. Our instructor was friendly and encouraged us to tap into originality without overthinking it instead of looking up patterns or inspo on our phone. I really liked that. And she offered us all coffee, freshly made. You can basically come in to do all the arts and craft your heart desires, on a donation basis. Affordable and unique way to release your artistic side without investing too much in all the supplies and then an abandoning a hobby. I'd come back with a friend and check out a different class.

They had construction paper, ribbons, highlighters, stamps, hot glue guns, and anything you might find at Michael's. Our instructor was very knowledgeable and showed us how she made her lanterns. She walked us step-by-step through the process. Now, I'm not a crafty person, but I was inspired enough by the ambiance and overflow of art supplies to get some creative juices flowing. At the end, I was able to create my own lanterns with some creative twists. I had a fun time and will recommend my crafty friends to check this place out!
