I had been going to Mission Lakes Dental for the last year or more for cleanings every three months…read moreand care. I really liked my hygienist and trusted him. I was charged $148 for my cleanings at the time of the treatment, and then billed on top of it. I didn't mind paying the price for a good cleaning if the care was preventative. Now that I'm looking into my insurance and coverage, I should have had 3 free cleanings a year, and my PPO is maxed as they were overcharging my insurance. In May, I ended up having to have an emergency root canal, and it turns out I need another. I'm struggling to pay for all the dental work that I need now after being in their care every 3 months and having their having maxed out my insurance. Also, turns out the hygienist who has now left the practice was not a periodontist which is why, I thought, I was paying the extravagant charges. This has nothing to do with Dr Steyn as she was wonderful when I saw her; however, she was on maternity leave for a lot of the year and now has left the practice.

This man is a complete fake and not a good dentist. He only wants money. He talked me into three…read morecrowns, at least two of which I now believe were not necessary. When I complained that one of the crowns didn't even feel like a natural tooth, he violently removed it. (the only time I've EVER experienced pain at any dentist in 50 years.) I believe he intentionally made it painfull and remarked about how "good he was at it" He evidently had his little ego damaged. I asked for my money back and his response was to block me. I have now gone to another dentist who is trying to rectify the situation, but because of the poor crown and bite implications may not be able to fully satisfy my normal use and feel of my teeth. I will most likely have to live for the rest of my life with poorly formed crowns and sensitivity in the others. DO NOT GO THERE!

Greetings! It is an…read moreabsolute pleasure to have the opportunity to share words of sincere praise for Dr. Sergio Rauchwerger, and his staff at Smile Designs. I have been a patient for over 5 years. In that period, I have been treated not as a patient , but as valued friend. Dr. Rauchwerger, is kind and has a gentle demeanor. Explaining the process as he goes. Taking time to explain and making me comfortable in every way. Being a resident of Palm Beach County for over 20 years, I had the misfortune of having two dentist, that actually did more harm than heal. I was recommended, by my friend who is a pediatric dentist. A referral from a colleague is golden. Dr. Sergio, surrounds himself with an incredible staff. They share his passion for commitment and service. Except for expansion, the same staff members have been there longer than I have been a valued friend. I have several old crowns and amalgam fillings. I continuously ask to replace them. "Why?", he asks. If you are not in discomfort, why tempt fate, is his credo. Two other pluses. Dr. Sergio is a Prosthodontist (A prosthodontist is highly trained in cosmetics, dental implants, crowns, bridges, dentures, temporomandibular disorders (TMJ/TMD), and more.) Secondly, he a a graduate of Harvard Dental School. Dr. Sergio, is down to earth, humble and ethical. I am forever grateful for listening to my friend. I hope you have the opportunity to experience, the very best in dental care. Sincerely, SG

He has refused to redo my upper denture even though they've been adjusted numerous times. I find his office staff very nice and trying to be accommodating but when I ask the doctor if possibly putting in an implant that was equal in size to the other one that he put in the about bit my head off and told me he knew what he was doing that was the last time I went to the office I'm going to have to seek another dentist and pay again for the job to be done properly. Save yourself a lot of time and trouble she was someone else a professional a specialist to do your implants not someone who took a weekend course. Almost forgot to mention doesn't make one feel very good when they're putting the implants in your mouth to hear the doctor tell the assistant who is doing the work on one side of your mouth that's okay it should be alright it should work it hasn't yet.

Though we love the staff and care quality; this morning, they refused to accept a CareCredit…read morepayment, a Synchrony Bank network in which it participates, because the charges were under $300. According to Synchrony Bank, any medical provider that chooses to participate in the national CareCredit program must adhere to the governing rules of the national program (minimum $200 charge deferred six month no interest) and cannot unilaterally change the terms. In April, the dental office accepted $200 as a CareCredit payment. The office cited cost of doing business with Synchrony Bank for their explanation. According to Synchrony Bank, they can't do that. They can choose to drop out of the program, but doing so would deny other patients right to defer high cost of dental care. After clarification with Synchrony Bank, and telling the dental office they had to accept the CareCredit, I was discharged as a patient. Unnecessary and very uncool to do that to well-meaning, paying patient.
