I was told to go sit in a room with another person and we read a sign that said that warranty work would cost a minimum of $25. I asked about it and was told by one of the employees that she couldn't explain it, and she didn't agree with it. A man came into the room and we asked him. He couldn't explain it either. I asked how they could charge for something they couldn't explain. I said it sounded like a "PFP" pure freakin' profit. I guess I need to find another eyeglass place, I mean, if they can't explain the charges to you, why buy from them?

For some reason, finding quality eye doctors in the Southern Maine area is a task. Having been to…read moreone eye doctor for about 7 years, I was hesitant to go somewhere new, but I am SO glad I did. I ended up coming across Beacon Eye Care after my dad came here and sang their praises. I scheduled an appointment and from there, it was magic. When I walked into Beacon Eye Care (which literally looks like a house), the woman at the front desk was incredibly nice and the place was pretty empty, which is also something I could appreciate. I was then welcomed by Dr. Lauren Boutet, who was such a gem of an eye doctor. I talked to her about some eye irritation I had been having and how my other eye doctor kind of dismissed it as dry eyes. Lauren took the time to figure out exactly what was going on and it turns out, I have an intolerance to some contact solutions! Ever since she diagnosed this issue, my eyes haven't been irritated and they are feeling great. She also went through my eye exam and she was incredibly patient and really put me at ease. I honestly HIGHLY recommend Beacon Eye Care and definitely will be a faithful patient of theirs.

They were able to switch the lenses into a pair of sunglasses I still had, that were luckily an identical frame. Highly recommend for any vision needs.

Family Eye Care is a great place for your optometry needs. Since the Connell's retirement, Juliann…read moreKandra has taken over the practice, and she is such a gem. She is incredibly nice and makes you feel comfortable about getting your eyes checked. My four stars are solely directed towards her and her work. If I were to rate my overall experience, I would probably give it three stars. The woman who takes you for pretest before your examination, I forget her name, is slightly rude. For instance, when doing the pressure test, I have a really hard time keeping my eyes open to get an accurate reading. When I went today, she had to retake the test numerous times and I could hear her heavy breathing and annoyance each time, which didn't help an already stressful situation. When she asked me questions, it felt rushed and like her mind was elsewhere. It just made for a stressful experience. Lastly, when ordering contacts or trying to schedule an appointment, it can be a challenge to reach them, and even after leaving a voicemail, sometimes you don't get a call back. Overall, the service of Juliann trumps the lack of customer service from the other workers, which is why I rate it four stars. If they could fix some of the those bumps, Family Eye Care could be really, really great in all aspects.

This was the 4th place that I went to get my cataracts fixed. If not for that 3+ year journey, I…read morewould not have a proper appreciation for finding Dr. Shah and all of the staff I encountered. More details below, but my experience here was the most professional medical experience I have had for many years - with one minor exception. The first place I went was where my cataracts were diagnosed, but when I called them to confirm my follow up appointment the next year it was not possible to just speak to a person. The second place left me alone in a room for a long time, the doctor asked me no questions and did not seem to have read my history. After a screaming match erupted outside the door, I knew I would not be back. The third try was not lucky either. After more than six months and my pre-op appointment, just days before the surgery I was contacted by an uninformed underling telling me that it was being canceled without any explanation offered. After I demanded that they contact my cardiologist and PCP they tried to reschedule it for deep in the winter. I no longer had enough trust in their professionalism to proceed. While the medical team at Eyecare Medical Group was absolutely A+ at all times and the scheduling office could probably use a better check list. It resulted in a temporary glitch that was worked out quickly and with extreme good graces. In the end I would do it all over again if I had to, but my vision came out practically perfect, so sadly I won't be back. They have created an exceptional template for handling out-patient procedures that the rest of the medical industry would do well to follow. P.S. As I was going in for my first appointment a gentleman and his wife were walking out. Unprompted he told me it was a great place, which proved to be accurate!

This place infuriates me…read more The last two/three times I've gone to them, had my contact exam, and ordered contacts, I've been very low on contacts and let them know this. I also haven't had a car. So, I pay an additional $9 on top of the crazy contact cost to have them shipped to me. Every single time they've told me to expect them to get to me in 4-5 business days. And every single time, it's two weeks later, I'm out of contacts, and I don't have them yet. The first time I called asking, they said whoops, they've been sitting here for a week and a half. They finally shipped them and I got them a couple days later. This time, it's been 15 days. I called at day 13 asking what was up. They put me on hold, then straight up lied to me and said they were out for delivery and would be there in a few hours. Two days later and they're nowhere to be found. No updates. I'm paying $9 for shipping and the contacts sit there for weeks until you literally call them and ask what's up. Now I'm out of contacts, and very frustrated. I know this is basic, but what the f***? These are my eyes! And these contacts cost an arm and a leg!!!! Do better plz. Sorry
