I was told to go sit in a room with another person and we read a sign that said that warranty work would cost a minimum of $25. I asked about it and was told by one of the employees that she couldn't explain it, and she didn't agree with it. A man came into the room and we asked him. He couldn't explain it either. I asked how they could charge for something they couldn't explain. I said it sounded like a "PFP" pure freakin' profit. I guess I need to find another eyeglass place, I mean, if they can't explain the charges to you, why buy from them?

The wait time has been minimal (if at all because the providers seem to run on time) and Dr. Liem is super nice, knowledgeable and a good listener making sure my questions are answered. Front desk staff and other support overall are professional and friendly. Our only complaint would be we wish they had even more glasses frames, particularly sunglasses to chose from in-house. I ended up getting mine at the slightly larger Portland location in the old port- something to keep in mind that each location may have a few different options to check out if you don't see what you want at this one. When ordering glasses it took about what they estimated time wise. The glasses are good quality glass lenses and are a bit more expensive than other spots we have been to over the years. All in all I definitely recommend.

After some convincing they begrudgingly agreed. They did my two kids, but when they got to me, I noticed they held the PD machine at a strange angle and the measurement came back much different than my previous PD. I asked if they were sure they did it right and they responded with a very curt 'I know how to do my job' I got a more recent eye exam at a different place and they confirmed my PD measurement never changed and that the people at Casco Bay had botched the measurement purposely because I wasn't buying their glasses.

I ended up coming across Beacon Eye Care after my dad came here and sang their praises. I scheduled an appointment and from there, it was magic. When I walked into Beacon Eye Care (which literally looks like a house), the woman at the front desk was incredibly nice and the place was pretty empty, which is also something I could appreciate. I was then welcomed by Dr. Lauren Boutet, who was such a gem of an eye doctor. I talked to her about some eye irritation I had been having and how my other eye doctor kind of dismissed it as dry eyes. Lauren took the time to figure out exactly what was going on and it turns out, I have an intolerance to some contact solutions! Ever since she diagnosed this issue, my eyes haven't been irritated and they are feeling great. She also went through my eye exam and she was incredibly patient and really put me at ease. Deceitful billing practices, unfriendly doctors, BAD and inaccurate medical advice, etc. My first problem was their doctors contradicting each other about a major problem. One recommended surgery the other recommended I "wait and see." Well which one is it?! They wouldn't discuss with each other to see why they had such radically differing opinions. The most recent problem I had was a bogus $100 "contact fitting" charge. All the doctor did was reorder my same lenses. She didn't actually fit them or even discuss the lenses with me. Now I'm having problems with the fit of my contacts and have no recourse without wasting even more money with them. Avoid this practice at all cost! They are deceptive and don't care about their patients' health.
