Very unprofessional. Through my 2 previous doctors under the bus. Stated that ACDF that was perform in 2016 was not necessary without reviewing my records from that year. This was before we were toe to toe as I questioned his comment. Yes in my face without the knowledge that I was in surgery for over 8 hours then put in a medically induced coma for 3 days because my Dr did not want me to move. Told me all I needed to do was exercise more. Even after the recent CT Scan report noted that the fusion failed. He told me it did not fail and my pain was not real. Also told me if I go to 10 different Drs I was get 10 different answers. Then stormed out of the door. Thank God my husband was with me and he is my witness. Unbelievable. Dr Pigeon was recommended highly by a friend who also had bulging discs/pinched nerves. I was in soooo much pain!! I was very impressed that Dr Pigeon was attentive to my concerns - he listened well and addressed my situation with knowledge and with compassion! It's so great to meet a Doctor who is knowledgable but not "know-it-all" ..who listens, and does not seemed rushed (although he is obviously busy & booked up in advance). I went to Dr. Pigeon after being told that I needed triple fusion on my neck. I had been told that I risked permanent injury if I did not have surgery immediately. When I met Dr. Pigeon, He, himself, examined me for over an hour and was very thorough in reviewing my symptoms, my MRI, and with his examination. He informed me that I did NOT need surgery and that I risked no permanent injury. He suggested steroidal injections. Dr pigeon fixed my back after 2 years of being in a lot of pain and being very limited in any recreational activity. I had stem cell surgery a year before I saw dr pigeon which did not work in New York. Dr pigeon recommended fusion on the deteriorated disc that I was having issues with. Did not have much pain after surgery and was walking app 2 miles 10 days after surgery. He cares a lot about the patient. 6 months later I am pain free and saw dr pigeon today. He cleared me for recreational activities today so I am excited to be able to get back into sports and get prepped for more aggressive sports in march. I am active downhill skier and this sport is a huge part of my life. I actually own my own ski shop in upstate New York so I am so thankful to dr pigeon for giving me hope and hopefully be catching some runs soon. read more

A few years ago I was suffering from numbness in my hands and thought it was probably carpal tunnel. I went to see my Doctor as the numbness had started to travel up both arms toward the shoulders. My Doctor refers me to Dr Pigeon who after looking at the X-rays and MRI, discovers that one or more of the discs in my cervical spine is pressing into the spinal cord and cutting off the movement of fluid in the spinal cord. Dr Pigeon recommends surgery ASAP. He explains he will build a titanium brace to realign the discs away from the spinal cord and relieve the pressure. We went through with the operation and I am happy to say it made a huge change in my condition. My right hand and arm now has no numbness at all and is completely normal. My left hand still has a bit of numbness in the index finger and thumb, but it is a huge improvement from what it was before. Also, the condition no longer seems to be spreading. Was in pain and he said no surgery. Went to another doctor who said I had a disk pressing on nerves and if I wait it could be irreversible damage, numbness etc. not sure what he s thinking. Relatives go to Dr s that are affiliated with Tampa General who are more professional and less likely to rush you out and look at you and explain why you have so much pain. Hate being treated like another social security number like this firm. Go to the big professional hospitals even if you tell have to go one or more hours away. Worth it. Didn't exactly know what was wrong with me. Would like when they put your MRIs or cat scans up and show you why the heck you have so much pain. Go to a big hospital and get the best, you are so worth it. read more

I was initially very interested in meeting with this physician after getting a referral from another orthopod and and reviewing his education. I have been through 7 spine surgeries and have had incredible bad luck and am still in constant pain. I was told by staff at facility how lucky I was to be able to see him and how he spends all this time on you. What a letdown. All the education in the world doesn't instill empathy and common manners. I found him to be incredibly arrogant and know-it-all. He doesn't listen well and I found him evasive and hard to pin down if he doesn't know the answer to something. After waiting more than 2 hours to see him, he gave me ten minutes of his time, did a very cursory exam, said I shouldn't have gotten the previous surgery and that he couldn't help me. He did tell me I was one of the unluckiest patients he had ever seen though. I guess he didn't want to break that unlucky streak! read more
