I wasn't at all thrilled with the one recommendation I received, so I came to Yelp and was not disappointed! I was hoping for a highly rated dentist in walking distance, and Tower Dental seemed to check all my boxes. Online registration, quick and friendly staff, clean modern facility (it's a lot bigger than it looks from the street!) with the latest technology - all good starts. But the proof is in their actual performance, and there they SHINE! Anna was my hygienist, and she was the most efficient and gentle I have ever had. Ever. Due to circumstances, I had gone over a year since my last checkup and cleaning, so I knew there would be extra work for her and likely a bit extra "trouble" for me... OMG yes, it took longer than usual, but she took great care of me. Dr. Kats joined us when all that was complete and I was happy to hear that my good dental health continues. Dr. Kats is a warm and professional dentist whom I would recommend even based on our short acquaintance, but his overall practice receives my immediate and unconditional endorsement! And, you can go right across the street after your appointment for a great pizza at Angelo's :-).

The office is located in a brick house but once inside it surely doesn't look like a house. Patient areas are clean, bright, and have quite comfortable patient chairs. Most every patient room has a window and the warmth of the outside eases the nervous feeling many people have while at a dentist. The hygienist we have most often is Meg. She remembers her patients and does a good job with cleanings, X-rays, and finding any issues. The "creature comforts" include a coffee/tea/hot chocolate machine, a video game system and small children's wooden train table in the kids waiting room, and on many days there is a massage therapist that can massage legs, feet, hands, and arms while you are having your dental cleaning or procedures done. After your dental appointment the massage therapist can offer a short back massage to ease you back in to your day. Great free services for the patients! Parking is never a problem and covers a large portion of what was the original homes front yard. Seasonal decorations are simple but very well done. We plan on returning here for the years to come even though we don't live nearby. It's worth the trip.

I had treatment with this dentist several years ago, and it remains one of the most uncomfortable…read moreand concerning healthcare experiences I've had. I went in trusting that I would be guided through appropriate, necessary care. Instead, I left with the sense that decisions were being made for me, not with me, and without the level of explanation you would reasonably expect for permanent procedures. There was very little meaningful discussion of alternatives, long-term outcomes, or even basic risk. It felt transactional at best and pressured at worst. I was ultimately persuaded to undergo six root canals, which a later dentist reviewed and said were not necessary based on my X-rays. That alone is difficult to process. Root canals are not minor, reversible choices--they fundamentally change the structure and longevity of a tooth. To move forward with that many, without clearly established need and without transparent communication, is something I continue to question. What is even more concerning is what followed. I was told I would need crowns, which is standard after root canals--but only after the procedures were completed was I informed that my teeth were "too short" for crowns and he could not place them. This was never explained beforehand. There was no warning that I might be left in a position where proper restoration was not possible. That is not a small oversight; it is central to the entire treatment plan. Had I been told this upfront, I would have made very different decisions. The outcome speaks for itself. My upper back molars were left without appropriate restoration and have since fractured and are now broken, requiring additional treatment that could likely have been avoided with proper planning and communication. Being placed in a situation where the intended next step was not even feasible after irreversible work had already been done is, frankly, difficult to justify. Thankfully, I found a competent dentist (Tower Dental) who was able to restore most of my teeth, something I had previously been told was not possible. That contrast alone is telling. It underscores how much clearer communication, planning, and skill can change the trajectory of care. Unfortunately, by that point, the damage to my upper back molars had already been done. The overall environment in the office did not inspire confidence either. The dentist was openly harsh and dismissive toward his assistant during my visits, which created a tense, uncomfortable atmosphere. It is difficult to feel at ease as a patient when the dynamic in the room feels strained and unprofessional. I later learned she was his daughter, which made the behavior even more unsettling to witness. At one point, while I was still actively in pain, I was also encouraged to consider veneers. The timing and context of that suggestion felt inappropriate and raised additional concerns about priorities in care. When a patient is dealing with unresolved pain and major restorative work, cosmetic upselling should not be part of the conversation. Overall, I left feeling pressured, inadequately informed, and uncomfortable. This experience significantly impacted my trust in dental care and led to additional procedures and costs that I am still dealing with years later. I would strongly encourage anyone considering treatment here to reconsider.
