The experience at Stanford (Palo Alto) was great and I had no worry for my mother from the ER, to OR, then transfer to bedding. Grade A experience. Though everyone was extremely busy, we never felt disrespected nor rushed. PATIENT (and even family) care was their main priority. Another plus is that they have the Filipino channel haha Anyway, I wish I remembered everyone's name because who helped us, even if they weren't assigned to us, did an exceptional job!! Thank you Thomas and your partner from ER. Dr. Li and your crew for the smooth operation, acknowledgment, and assurance.

First thing you need to know--it will take months--yes, literally months--to get an appointment. When I reacted in disbelief, I was told unapologetically "Stanford in a teaching facility our doctors are only in a couple of days a week". Seeing patients is not the priority of this center. Second thing to know--you will get mysteriously charged additional copays months after your appointment. It turns out that the doctors do not charge copay by appointment, but by "topic". When I questioned the additional copay, I was told I must have asked the doctor a question unrelated to what my appointment was schedule for so each additional question can be charged a separate copay. Are you kidding me? Finally, and most importantly, again Standford is a teaching hospital--if you require surgery, or treatment, I highly advise that you ask that the interns/students do not work on you. I did not, and I physically paid dearly for it!!

In the fifteen years I've been going there, I've almost always gotten an appointment within a week. Even better is that they recently started offering same-day appointments. You only have to make an appointment if there's one specific doctor you Just call first thing in the morning and you'll likely get in that day. Both Dr. Richard Lee (who sadly is no longer there) and now Dr. Crump have given me first-class treatment. I've always been treated well there. When was very open to alternative therapy for getting my blood pressure down. Thanks to his guidance and openness, I'm now off my hypertension medication completely! But the appointment that stood out most for me was when I fell and was in insane amounts of ankle pain. Dr. Crump examined it and said that it was at worst a hairline fracture. I asked if he should x-ray it. His response put a smile on my face. He said, "We could do an x-ray, but the treatment would be the same." In today's broken fee-for-service medical industry, it was refreshing to have a doctor who wasn't suggesting unnecessary procedures to get paid more by insurance companies. In short, I've always gotten first-class treatment from Stanford Family Practice and will be going there as long as possible.

I usually dread visits to the Dr., but Dr. Rosenberg made me feel comfortable -- she commented appropriately, was easy to talk to, and made me feel like I was the only person she was seeing that day. Good to note: She took notes on a computer while talking to me, but before she did so, she told me why and said that if it really bothered me, she could take notes by hand instead. I didn't even notice it after 5 minutes. Please also note that Dr. Rosenberg does not submit directly to insurance companies, so you'll have to fill out your own paperwork and submit it yourself. As I look back 11 years ago... It all began in January, 2008, when I had a ten year post menopausal bleeding. All kinds of ultra sound, paps mear tests did gave a "no - concern 'results, up until my Gynologist, Dr. Susan Logan did a DNC on December 28,2028. The DNC result was like a bomb sheel bursting on my head...I had Stage 4 Metastatic Uterine Cancer. I needed immediate hysterectomy by an occologist, who must also be a gynecologist ...but it was a holiday week end. There was no available doctors to treat me ASAP!!! I searched on line and found the website of Dr.Kathleen O'Hanlan. I immediately called her office, hoping against hope that somebody will respond to my phone call ! Lo and behold, her medical secretary attended to my needs. I lived in Santa Rosa, CA... around 80 miles south. I managed to prepare all my medical records and surgical requirements in a day's time on a Monday , January 03,2009...via fax machine , with the kind help of Dr. O'Hanlan 's able secretary. By Monday, January 10,2009, my caring neighbors: Francis and Sharon drove me from 3:00 am to 5:30 am to Sequioa Hospital, where at exactly, 7:00 a.m. Dr. O Hanlan examined me thoroughly...recommending a total laparoscopic hysterectomy for my stage 4 Metastatic Uterine cancer. She advised me to stay in a nearby hotel with my Friend Sharon, to prepare for 8:00 am surgery on January 12,2009, which she did splendidly and successfully for two hours ! By around 5:30 am of January 13,2022, she paid me an early visit at the Sequoia Hospital and happily informed me that I can already be discharged before noon that day. I immediately called my spouse and he came by at 10:00 a.m. driven by Francis, Sharon's spouse, as my husband is legally BLIND . I was discharged at exactly 11:00 am. on January 14,2009, I consulted with my primary doctor, Dr. Scott Peterson at the Santa Rosa Hospital. He recommended me to Dr. Wes Lee, an oncologist at the Round Barn Cancer Center of Santa Rosa. Dr.Lee prescribed a massive chemotherapy plan to combat my metastatic cancer. At first, I declined knowing the irreversible effects of chemo treatments. I was prepared to die after a year or so ! Surprisingly, Dr. Kathleen O Hanlan called me at home. She followed my case and encouraged me to agree with Dr.Lee's cancer treatment plan, based on the biopsy report, she did...that is, my cancer cells are named Papillarly Cells and they can totally be killed by a chemo medicine called Taxol. Thus, I changed my initial decision. I underwent the six week chemotherapy. from February 14,2009 to June 06,2009. That was a glorious day....I rang the BELL of being Cancer free !!! Thanks be to God , to my loving Spouse, Don, Dr.Kathleen O 'Hanlan and Dr. Wes Lee. My spouse died on July 13,2010..with my health back to normal, I was able to take care of him , as he did during my cancer days the previous year !!! Today, March 06,2022...I accidentally came to visit the website of Dr.Kathleen O'Hanlan..my heart is filled with gratefully joy to acknowledge her, as my intermediary life giver next to my providential GOD ...as I write this cancer epic of my life . Many Thanks to all ! And a very special and. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kathleen O'Hanlan . Your Ever Grateful, Edna D. who will turn 75 this Covid-19 Pandemic Year of 2022... and still cancer free after 11 Years!
