I ordered a bouquet of flowers for a funeral of a dear friend who loved fall colors. I ordered the flowers thru a site that contracts out to local floral shops (within distance to the funeral homes).. when I walked thru the viewing and saw the arrangement that had my name on it iI was embarrassed. It was mostly greens, and not at all what the picture I choose looked like.. I was so embarrassed by it's tiny size and appearance that I took the card off the arrangement. When I contacted the site I ordered it from, they refunded the equivalent to the delivery fee. The email is received stated they contacted Rich Mar and the amount refunded was the resolution Rich Mar was satisfied with. So disappointed! read more

Very disappointed in RichMar flowers. My husband and I ordered our son and daughter-in-law an anniversary bouquet through FTD, RichMar was the local florist. We got the 'Truly Stunning', 'Best' @ $95. I especially wanted the lilies. Not only are the lilies missing, the bouquet is pitifully small and, frankly, ugly. 1. Call FTD, was told they'd have it resent. Didn't do. 2. Called RichMar, a man named John said they substitute flowers when necessarily. I can understand that, but apparently they used miniature invisible flowers. Also, the man complained that they don't make as much on FTD as personal orders. Said we should call directly next time. No offer to recreate product. Aside, my daughter-in-law wasn't home when the delivery arrived. She came home to find it in the center of the sidewalk where people had to literally walk around it. 3. Tonight we called FTD again and asked for a full refund. We will see how that goes. Incidentally, FTD agents are not English literate. I understand that substitutions are allowed for 800Flowers orders and we are dealing with an enormous crisis, but to substitute roses for DAISIES is completely unacceptable. The photo on the left is the arrangement I ordered for Mother's Day for my Mom and the one on the right is what this florist sent her. They look NOTHING alike. If this florist could not come close to fulfilling this order, they or 800Flowers should have let me know to cancel or select another arrangement. I received a gorgeous gift of a potted orchid on January 24. However, one of the two stems was damaged. If one considers the dryness of the crease in the stem, the browned edge of the break in the stem and the lackluster buds at the distal portion of the stem, it was evident that the damage happened long before, as in days before, the delivery. Dealing with Rich Mar about the defect illustrated to me rather quickly how they attempt to assign blame to their workers who may have too tightly wrapped the plant, to me who may have accidently damaged the stem while unwrapping the brown wrapper or to the growers who sold them a defective product. The conversation was always more focused on who to blame for the defective product. At NO time did Rich Mar ever accept blame. I do not want to deal with any business who is clearly unable or unwilling to simply say, "How can I make this better?" Personally, I plan to ask my daughter who resides in San Francisco to avoid Rich Mar at all costs when she wires floral gifts to me. One final note is this: they will pick up the plant to give back to their supplier (so they get credit, they told me, like I really care about background issues) and will deliver a new plant on January 28. Today, January 28, the florist swapped out the damaged plant, making a point to unwrap the plant themselves, commenting about someone (anyone but them) damaging the plant, never apologizing. The new plant is in better shape with blooms on both stems. Bottom line: dealing with these folks is like dealing with a bunch of customer service drop outs....probably local Dutchies who don't know any better. But I do. Would NOT recommend them. read more

I ordered the Orange Escape online from Pro Flowers to cheer up my daughter who fell down some concrete steps yesterday. What she got was not quite the same. My biggest issue was they forgot to leave the stands for the flowers that were outside hanging from the gazebo to be placed on in the inside once the wedding ceremony was over. I am very happy with my experience with RichMar Florist. I contacted them pretty late in the game as far as wedding planning is concerned, and Jonathan got back to me immediately and scheduled a time that was convenient for me to come in to their main warehouse in Allentown. I was given a quick tour and some time to look around upstairs, where they had several rooms full of suggested wedding arrangements for inspiration. I wasn't totally sure what I wanted, but Jonathan took the time out to go over what my options were. He was familiar with the wedding venue and was very honest with me about what I did NOT need to purchase based upon the layout of the place. We sat down with a book full of pictures of the different varieties of roses. I was amazed with the large number of choices, and was able to come up with exactly what I had in mind for the bouquets and the bouttonieres. I also needed two larger arrangements for the pillars used for the ceremony. I saw something in one of the rooms upstairs that gave me an idea, and as vague as my description seemed, those arrangements were EXACTLY what I had envisioned. My wife and I got married a few weeks ago and two hours before the wedding, the florist we got the flowers from delivered the bouquets and my wife was devastated. I contacted Rich Mar on Easton Ave which was closed but the phone went directly to their warehouse operation. I explained the situation and in approximately 1.5 hrs they created beautiful bouquets, had my wife smiling ear to ear and made me a hero! I normally buy online and have been very satisfied with the end result. As a walk in customer I couldn't be more disappointed in the lack of customer service and face to face interaction. All I wanted was a nice bouquet of flowers for around $45 for my wife's birthday. I requested flowers with the colors lavender, chartreuse and blue with splash of yellow. Woman behind counter seemed confused. I directed her to the stores web site for an arrangement that had similar colors, but I explained multiple times that I didn't want that arrangement just those colors. Apparently the only way to get those colors was by ordering the arrangement on the web site even though she said "we have all those flowers to make that arrangement if you want it." Also, the web site arrangement was listed at $80 and she tried to charge me $98 if I went with that arrangement. How hard is it to give the customer what they want? I called Rich Mar today to tell them that the floral arrangement my husband sent me for Easter was really unattractive. The person I spoke with said it was an FTD arrangement, a "bubble" arrangement. It actually was the Perfect Day bouquet which I found on the FTD website, and which looked nothing like what my husband had seen when he ordered it from Maine to send to me. Needless to say, I told them that I could not tell my husband how unsatisfactory it was, as he would feel awful. After seeing that the least expensive or "Good" arrangement was $49.95, and should have had oriental roses, pink roses, pale pink spray roses and plum mini carnations, I now definitely feel an apology is in order. My arrangement is not anywhere approaching a "bubble" shape; has 5 lilies, 6 pink roses, 4 burgundy carnations, and some hydrangea pieces. The vase is similar to the FTD photo. Horrible experience with this florist.. Ordered a bouquet and boutonnière from them specifying a color on their website. Picked them up 5 days later and the flowers were pink instead of purple. Further inspection showed browning on the flowers also. We were using them for a destination wedding and our photographer told us not to even use them as they would look horrible in the pictures . So we had to find a florist who could help us out. Contacted the owners and was told we didn't specify that color and even though we sent pictures of them we were told the staff verified they weren't browning. I received a bouquet of flowers from Rich Mar Florist from my son for Mother's Day. The roses were wilting by day 2 and really bad by day 3. I called the florist and John said that they would pick up the bouquet and replace it. The replacement was not very colorful and it was only 4 days before the roses wilted and the other flowers started falling off. What a waste of $80.00! We will never buy flowers there again. On Monday, February 13 I ordered flowers for my 90 year old grandmother through 1-800 Flowers who contracted Rich Mar. The flowers were attempted to be delivered that day, however my grandmother did not yet have a room number assigned. By 12pm a room number was provided to the florist. Delivery was never reattempted, though I paid for same day delivery. The next day at around 3pm, the flowers were delivered - with two names missing from the card. The flower arrangement that I paid $75 looks droopy and sad, it had four roses in the entire arrangement, whereas the picture had at least a dozen. Disappointing is an understatement - highway robbery is more accurate. When I saw that the two names were missing, I called Rich Mar directly. The man that I spoke with said that they would get another bunch out in the morning with the two names that they had left off, and blamed 800-Flowers for the mix up. At 4:30 the next day - still no flowers. I called and the less than understanding lady told me that the office was closed. I called 800-flowers to ask them about the names on the cards and the correctly relayed back to me. I have ordered from 800-flowers 20 times in the last two years, and this has never happened, the only thing different was Rich Mar. They completely messed up. I would never recommend them. I can't believe that somebody would trust them with their wedding when they couldn't get names on a card correct and completely lied to me about redelivering. DISHONEST and INCOMPETENT. read more

Not only did they deal with us professionally, kindly and efficiently during a difficult time, their interpretation of our floral requests far exceeded our expectations. In addition to the floral displays our family ordered for the funeral, we received gift numerous baskets, and flowers at home as well as baskets and arrangements sent directly to the funeral home from Rich Mar. Everything was fresh and beautiful. In addition, when the driver delivered a gift basket to our home on the day of the viewing he assurred us he just came from setting up the arrangements at the funeral home and let us know everything looked beautiful. If you don't want a horror story like mine, don't ever use this florist. I had to give this florist 1 star because the system won't let me give it no stars. I just got married on Sun 16 May 10. Should be the happiest day of my life. We had everything planned, ordered, and in place. The flowers were delivered prior to our arrival at the reception site to set up the last minute details, so we did not see the flowers upon delivery. What I did see and continued to see for the next 2 hours was my distraught bride crying. Why was she crying, do you ask, she was crying because the florist, Rich-Mar Florist, had sent the wrong flowers. I don't know if the other grooms out there are like me, but there is not much that hurts worse that seeing the love of your life in tears. It's not like we didn't sit in Rick, the owner's, office for an hour going over in detail what we wanted, the month before. It's not like she didn't go over the order, line by line, with the shop when they called 3 days before the wedding to say, "the lilies look beautiful." We did all that, and somehow we still got the wrong flowers. My brother, who was the best man, tried to tell me that it was OK, but I ask you ladies out there, is that something that is OK to go wrong on your wedding day? I ended up on the phone, on hold multiple times over the next almost 3 hours, waiting for a manager. The whole time, I was expecting a call from Rick, the owner, who supposedly had been given my phone number via emergency ticket. I waited for that call for almost 3 hours and it never came. Eventually he called to the wedding location and the gist of the conversation he had with my fiancee was basically, sorry, nothing we can do, you can come and get your money back. That, of course, was after the initial "We sent the right order." I have to say, to be fair, he did apologize at least once. The next day we got our second dose of how Rich-Mar recovers from almost ruining the the most important day of a girl's life. I told the person with whom I was on the phone, who turned out to be Rick's son Bruce, that I would be at the Bethlehem shop at 9:00am the next day to pick up my refund check. Oh no, he says, you have to come to the Allentown store. Do you believe that after getting the flowers wrong for a wedding and not making any attempts to fix it, he suggested that I had to drive 25 minutes away to get my money back for a product they didn't deliver? I was even more furious than the day before. I was not going to budge and they would have to meet me where I wanted, at the time I wanted, to give me back my money. "Well I have to call my dad and see if he can meet you," Bruce said, "because I won't be able to meet you tomorrow, I will be out of town." Just as a side note, Bruce sure was there today when I came for my check. I guess that was just 1 more hoop you have to jump through when you try to get your money back from Rich-Mar Florist, for products you pay for but don't receive. Does that sounds fair - should a customer have to work to get their money back? Well Bruce got in touch with his daddy and finally called back to verify our meeting. That was a whole other travesty. I don't think these guys quite have a handle on how badly they messed up. They seem to think what happened is an, "Oh well, it happens", event. He put the check down after explaining that the mistake was made because the original order had been on top of the updated order and they had ordered the flowers from the original. I then explained that I didn't understand how the original order sheet existed more than 1 minute after we were done revising it. Evidently throwing away the original order, so there was no confusion, and a horrible mistake like sending the wrong flowers on her wedding day, wasn't an idea that crossed their minds. As we took our money back, Rick wanted us to sign some other piece of random paper about how he had now fulfilled our contract. Of course I refused, because you didn't fulfill the contract, Rick. We got the wrong flowers on our wedding day, remember? The junior tells us if we don't sign, they will stop the payment on the check. Then the whole scene just devolved, I had enough. There is no remorse in this company. This mistake seemed to be just a cost of doing business. The lack of attempts at any point to try to make it right and save our wedding and our desire to do business with them were quite apparent. They don't need our business or a good review. Evidently, they couldn't care less whether we were happy or not. Oh well, I guess my little measly $700.00 wasn't worth it. All I can say is I would not use this florist again if they offered me free flowers for life. read more

My husband and i got married on 2/13/16. Prior to this I met with the owner of the company, and spoke with him as well as e-mailed him several times. I ordered a beautiful bouquet of red roses, and also included in my order, free of charge was a toss bouquet to be used at my reception-made very clear to me by the owner. Prior to us meeting I had planned on making my own. Upon confirming my order, more than once, I was assured that the toss bouquet was included, despite it not being on my invoice. My bouquet was delivered and it was in fact gorgeous, but no toss bouquet accompanied it. My maid of honor and sister called Rich Mar and asked if they could deliver the toss bouquet so we could have it for the reception. We called around 12:30, reception would not be until after 5:30 pm. When calling we spoke to the owner, who was extremely rude and disrespectful to both my maid of honor, and then myself as the bride when I got on the phone. He did not elude in slightest to caring at all about the fact that his company failed to provide what was promised to me. He cursed at my maid of honor and at myself. For any bride that knows the amount of stress that goes into planning your wedding day and ensuring everything is perfect, this man should be ashamed of himself and should rethink calling himself a professional.
