We ordered their small crab combo, which included soy-marinated crab, spicy crab, crab soup, and a kimchi pancake. The portions were generous, and the crab is imported from Korea and was incredibly sweet and delicious. Every bite left us wanting more. The service was warm and friendly, making us feel just like eating at home. Parking wasn't too difficult either; there were some spots available on the street. After trying so many places for marinated crab, I'd say this one is definitely worth recommending.

Came right at opening this morning with a friend and had the loveliest experience The ambience was cozy and calm, and an older gentleman kindly took our order, which made it feel extra warm and welcoming. We tried the raw marinated crab, soy marinated crab, and bean paste stew; everything was insanely delicious. I usually prefer the spicy raw marinated crab over soy, but this time the soy marinated crab completely won me over. Both were incredibly fresh and amazing. And the banchan was sooooo good. Service was thoughtful and welcoming. Such a special little spot, can't wait to come back!

Super fresh, flavorful, sweet and creamy soy marinated Korean crabs here!! We got a combo A large for 5 people and added on an extra crab. perfect for everyone to get a whole raw crab + 2-3 bowls each of the crab stew. Careful bc the stew is pretty spicy with the flecks of gochugaru around. Plenty of veggies in it too, but the sweet crab broth makes it. Service was nice and helpful. Gives me old style Korean hole in the wall vibes, clean interior. No frills, just good food at Rich Crab! Pro tip: bring some Korean toasted seaweed to make some handrolls. SO FIRE.

Came to Rich Crab over the weekend for dinner on Saturday & it was not too busy. Parking lot looked almost full, but they have Valet ($3, best to have exact change) to make life easier... I've been wanting to try Korean raw marinated crab and had Rich Crab saved on my list for a while. I'm glad I finally got a chance to try! Though it was a bit pricey, I think it was worth it. Hubby & I ordered the Combo B (Small - serves 2), which comes with Spicy Seafood Stew, 1 Soy Sauce Marinated Crab, 2 Spicy Marinated Crabs, and Kimchi Pancake + Rice. Their banchan included bean sprouts, boiled leafy greens, kimchi, fish cakes, and seaweed salad. Hubby & I were determined to finish the raw crabs in restaurant and took the rest as leftovers home since we weren't sure if it would spoil taking home. The soup was full of shrimp, fish, clams, and more crab! It was actually a nice palate cleanser when wanting to take a break or have different texture from eating the raw marinated crab. They serve the stew over a portable butane stove so you can keep it warm for as long as you want to. After trying both types, I do prefer the Soy Marinated Crab more. I felt it was creamier and was the better flavor in terms of actually feeling like I was eating the crab. The spicy marinated crab was marinated well, but it was a bit sweet & tasted more like Korean banchan with gochujang flavoring. It does get messy while eating, but they provide a box gloves and even a small bib for us ladies / those who want to keep their clothes clean. The head shell of the soy marinated crab has some yummy juices that pairs so well with the rice. The best way to describe the soy marinated raw crab was I was surprised how creamy the raw crab was (along with the roe/brains? The orange stuff ...) & it just makes for an overall comfort/food bite with the rice. Service was fairly quick & Rich Crab seems to be a small family-run restaurant by an older couple who were kind enough to give hubby some change for the valet. One unisex bathroom that was fairly clean. Will be back when we want to fix our Korean Raw Marinated Crab craving!

I didn't catch the name of this soup but it was good

Nestled in a small plaza in Korea Town LA, is Rich Crab which is operated by a sweet Korean couple. They prepped the soy marinated crab backing for us to try. We ordered one of their set menus which came with a kimchi pancake, some seafood soup, 1 spicy marinated crab, and 2 soy sauce marinated crabs. Everything was a 10/10! It was my first time trying raw marinated crab and now I'm hooked. I'd definitely come back here and recommend to anyone looking for the same!

Little tucked away restaurant in LA. It was a great find because the food was amazing. Went here on two different occasions and both times did not fail to amaze. Crabs are stuffed with meat and the sauce is amazing. Highly recommend to anyone wanting marinated crab.

The soy sauce-marinated raw crab is incredibly fresh, with a jelly-like texture that melts in your mouth. The generous amount of crab roe adds a rich, indulgent touch, and you can tell how meticulously they clean and prepare everything, so much so that even with my sensitive stomach, I had no issues after eating it. Their seafood soup is another standout, packed with shrimp, crab, and fish, making it a hearty and satisfying meal. It's the perfect spot for a delicious solo dinner. Beyond the amazing food, the ambience is just as impressive. The entire place is spotless, with no fishy smell at all, which is rare for a seafood restaurant. It's cozy, comfortable, and makes for a truly enjoyable dining experience. Their service is very friendly too

Location 3: Busy area in K-Town, Los Angeles. Impossible to find street parking. There are paid parking lots around, but we opted for the valet that serves the shopping plaza. Venue 3: Basic no frills indoor seating with table service. They do take reservations on Yelp which may be helpful at busty times. Service 3: Polite and attentive. Our order was taken quickly, and food came quickly as well. Food 2.5: This restaurant specializes in crab. Menu is rather small and includes crab plates, carb stews and a few Korean hot pots. The crab plates and stews can be ordered in individual and family portions. Food was just OK and not memorable. Their crab meat (which is their specialty) had a slightly sour taste to it that we had not experienced before. I did like the Spicy Tofu Stew a lot though. Drinks 3: Smaller assortment of beer, soju, soft drinks and tea. The last word 3: Rich Crab was ok, but not what we had hoped for.

This place has the best marinated craw crab in K-Town. I tried couple places before but their marinated was too salty to my taste so I prefer Rich Crab even it's more expensive than other places. Their crabs are fresh from Korea. Services are friendly and fast.

Amazing food and service. You can't get more authentic than this! I was looking specifically for a Korean raw marinated crab spot. They do sets that include 2 types of marinated crab, stew, and rice with banchan. We ordered the medium for 4 people and it was plenty of food! The crab was so sweet and fresh. The spicy crab stew was also delicious. The owner also offered us to try an off menu item - raw marinated shrimp, which we really enjoyed. Highly recommend!!

Rich Crab is one of the best restaurant for raw marinated crabs in Los Angeles, California. I love the fact that it is super simplified and they also offer live sea urchin with their marinated raw crabs. The filling in the crab is in my opinion about "B rated" crab compare to the best marinated crab places in Seoul. The banchan game is strong but it lacks variety and impactfulness. Everything taste great though but very mediocre overall. But its still great including the service. Who am I to complain comparing this to Korea but it is what it is. I would come back here when I'm craving a marinated crabs in Los Angeles. I would recommend this restaurant if you want some sort of decent marinated raw crab sensual orgasm.

My friends and I had never eaten raw marinated crab before, so we decided to try Rich Crab based on the Yelp reviews. The food was delicious, but given the price and the portions shared among 4 people, we found ourselves not satisfied and wanting more. We ordered the Large Combo A. The photo of the large portion is somewhat misleading, as the size increase is mostly due to the soup, not the crab. Regardless of the combo size, you only get one soy-marinated crab. We would have preferred larger crab portions when ordering a larger combo, rather than more soup or sides, since we came specifically for the raw marinated crab.

Curious about the fad surrounding raw crab and to celebrate a friend's birthday, we came here and ordered Combo B, which include the spicy crab stew, soy sauce marinated crab, kimchi pancake, spicy marinated crab, and several banchans. Since there weren't many other diners when we arrived, service was prompt. Now with the food. First and foremost, be prepared to use your hands to break open the crabs. Gloves are provided but there's some work involved. The soy sauce crab was refreshing and flavorful. Other than the spice, it was a bit difficulty to taste the flavor of the spicy marinated crab, but still enjoyable. What I thought would be the best item turned out differently. The spicy crab stew, generally good and savory, had Japanese pumpkins that tasted off, with a rotten smell, for lack of a better description. The kimchi pancake, like many I've had in my life, were spot on. Overall, an interesting experience. Parking can be a challenge so be prepared to park on the street.

But as beef stew goes...it wasn't stew-ish enough. Mostly because it has some strong seasonings, and the pieces of beef were cut really small, so it was more like a beef stir fry. That said, it was really tasty. Very flavorful, and the quality of the beef was good. I can see myself going there again. As for he place itself, the staff were nice, though going at lunch meant they were a little (and understandably) distracted. There is sometimes street parking but the availability is rough, it's tough to park, and even one of the meters we ended up at just didn't work. They only charge a $5 cash service charge though, which isn't bad. We were lucky to be seated right away, even in a packed restaurant. The restaurant has a surprisingly modern design, and is comfortable for as small as it is. We were quickly served their signature kimchis and barley rice. The kimchi, particularly the yeolmu (young summer radish) kimchi, has a unique flavor profile well suited to their food. We ordered 2 bowls of their plain kalgooksu, 1 bibim milmyun, and 1 tteokbokki. The food came out fairly quickly. The kalgooksu was as expected the star of the show. The anchovy broth brings a savory complexity that seems impossible for a soup made from just dried fish and a few other ingredients. It even has a rich, almost thick, quality to it that is surprising for a fish broth. Their noodles, the titular kalgooksu, have the signature irregularity and chew of knife cut noodles. I appreciate the vegetables that always come in kalgooksu, like potato, pumpkin, and zucchini, which offer an earthy heartiness to the light soup. My only complaint is that the potato is in huge irregular chunks, and is barely cooked, though I feel like I have had this issue with many of the kalgooksu bowls I've had over the years. The bibim milmyun was solid. I think that I prefer the texture and flavor of naengmyeon buckwheat noodles, but the milmyun, which are made with mostly wheat flour, still provide a satisfying chew. The sauce tasted bright and fresh, especially with a splash of added vinegar. It also came with a small side portion of spicy pork and some rice paper to wrap. The tteokbokki was the one let down of the meal. To be fair, I wasn't expecting much out of tteokbokki at all restaurant like this whose specialty is essentially the opposite. I ordered the tteokbokki as a "safe pick" for a picky eater in the group. It turned out to be a bit mediocre in our opinion, and that friend ended up enjoying their kalgooksu anyways. If you're looking to try this dish, it's definitely one of if not the best I've had in Southern California, so I'd totally recommend it. I'll also warn to steer clear of the Garden Grove restaurant of the same name and specialty. I think it's a disappointing mimicry of this place.

Luckily, they were there (waiting in the car) so I told them to walk over so we can be seated. I ordered 2 orders of chiayi chicken (1with white rice and 1 with brown rice), 2 orders of thousand layer pancake (1 with egg and 1 with egg and cheese), shrimp wonton, dance dan noodles, wonton noodle soup, hakka mochi and forbidden rice pudding. For drinks we had a few of the shaken iced green teas and 1 taro milk tea (my sister said it didnt taste like taro) Everything was great. I was surprised my sister's bf liked the food. The chiayi chicken was good with a bit of the chili sauce (sambal). The thousand layer pancake was good if you dip it in the black vinegar (mixed with chili oil and a little soy sauce). The shrimp wonton were surprisingly light and tasty. The dan dan noodles was balanced my medium thin sliced cucumber. Everything was portioned very small so you can try everything.we didnt get additional sides because were getting full. The desserts was what I was looking forward to and it did not disappoint. The hakka mochi reminded me of the soy pudding stalls in singapore that had mochi balls filled with a black sesame paste and peanut paste inside. The forbidden rice pudding reminded me of a soupy version of the filipino dessert biko. It had chunks of sweet potatoes and tapioca. Also very good but my bias is the hakka mochi. It's been sitting on my saved list for a while, and honestly, this turned out to be the perfect opportunity. The space itself is bright, clean, and welcoming with warm woody tones throughout. Casual setup where you order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. I had already looked through the menu beforehand, so the real challenge was narrowing down what to order for one person. I failed at that... and I'm very happy I did. Started with the Pig Ear Salad 滷豬耳朵. Braised thin sliced pig ears dressed with soy sauce, chili oil, sesame oil, scallion, and cilantro. OMG. So good. Tender, flavorful, perfectly braised, with that satisfying chewy texture done right. Also got the Fried Peanut Salad 五味花生 with garlic, cilantro, scallions, vinegar, and Thai chili. Super crunchy, bright, refreshing, and honestly addicting. I added a cup of the Hot & Sour Soup 酸辣湯 too. Organic tofu, beech mushroom, carrot, bamboo, woodear mushroom, and egg. Super comforting with a really balanced tang and peppery heat. Not overly thick or heavy like a lot of Americanized versions can be. Exactly the kind of soup you want during a long travel day. For noodles, I ordered the Dan Dan Noodles 擔擔麵. Sesame-peanut sauce, cucumber, cilantro, crushed peanuts. Delicious on its own already, but I ended up adding some of the fried peanuts from the salad into the noodles and it became even better. Then the Three Cup Chicken 三杯雞 with sesame oil, soy sauce, rice wine, and Thai basil. I do wish it had a little more wok hei, but overall the flavor was still really comforting and savory. Extremely good with rice. Had a glass of Gewürztraminer alongside everything, which paired surprisingly well with the spice and aromatics. Their wine list leans more organic / natural wine focused, which felt very LA in a good way. Ended up sitting at a high top next to one of the managers and had a great conversation throughout the meal. She ended up hooking me up with the Traditional Shaved Ice 傳統刨冰 with grass jelly, red bean, boba, sweet potato balls, taro balls, brown sugar syrup, and condensed milk. I was already planning to order it anyway, and wow... I finished the entire thing. The brown sugar syrup was incredibly fragrant. Packed the leftovers to-go, and that ended up becoming my dinner after landing in San Francisco later that evening. Flight cancellation somehow turned into a really great food day.

HOW DOES IT WORK? They offer menu at the front when you walk…read moren into the restaurant. You would order and pay first, and then they'll give you a number stand. It is self-seating so you'll place the number on your table. They offer some utensils at the tables but it is also self service so you can get your own bowl, plates, utensils and water. FOOD I came with a large group so we ordered a good number of dishes. All the dishes were delicious, flavorful and above and beyond for what I find it to be more a fusion-Asian restaurant. I particularly liked their brown sugar milk team as it comes with boba and grass jelly. And their mochi was SO delicious. This would be a place my parents would enjoy a lot. PARKING It's in downtown LA so parking can be tough. There are plenty of paid parking structures nearby. WOULD I COME BACK? YES!

Had a great experience at Sulga House of Beef Bone Soup…read more Their beef bone soup is simple, clean, and really solid, the kind of comfort food that just hits right for the soul. They currently have a great deal at $12, which makes it even better value for what you're getting. The sullungtang comes with rice, soup, and two types of kimchi. Service was friendly and efficient, and the whole experience felt easy and satisfying. Place was chill, not too overly crowded. I've noticed a lot of people ordering other dishes every time I go, so I'm definitely looking forward to trying more of the menu, but I keep coming back for the basics because it's just that good.

Sulga was definitely THE place to be for a warm bowl of bone broth on a rainy night. My friend and…read moreI stopped by for doganitang (for two), and the portions were indeed large - for four. We also added beef brisket since my friend wasn't a big fan of cartilage - more for me! The pot itself wasn't too deep, though there was a good portion of protein cartilage. Also important to note that rice was NOT included! The brisket add on came as a pre-cooked brisket that was added in after, as it didn't initially fit in the pot. The staff member told us at the time that broth refills were free. However, when it came time for refills, they said it was only one time - poor communication. Paying was fairly straightforward, but for future visits, I'd likely just come for their lunch special sullongtang after this experience.
