Rice K has been one of my favorite restaurants in Astoria for the past few years. Best sushi in the neighborhood and the yummiest leche martini! The restaurant is always clean, with a welcoming atmosphere. It's surprising that it's not always packed, considering how fresh the ingredients are and how thoughtful the staff is. The manager came over to our table and introduced herself. She was so friendly! She then gave us a free round of shots! Rice K will continue to be my go to Sushi restaurant in the area.

Rounded up to 4 stars for the service and comfortable room. The menu starts with unusual and tasty cocktails. The plates offer Asian Fusion, primarily Japanese and Chinese. The dishes and are somewhere acceptable and good, depending on what you order. The White Tiger roll seemed to the better option.

Got delivery from Rice K the other day. This place seemed to dabble in all sorts of Asian cuisine so I was bit hesitant to order from them but thought what the heck maybe they'll surprise me. I was definitely not surprised and regretted ordering from them. We ordered an appetizer of Mongolian beef bao which left me unimpressed - it was just okay. The real disappointment came with the Cantonese pan-fried noodles though. Instead of noodles, they served what felt like fried string wonton chips, and when drenched in sauce, they turned oddly sponge-like. far from what actual pan fried noodles are. Highly against ordering that dish. The surprising thing was the sushi; the salmon rolls were delicously thick and tasted fresh. Despite the tasty sushi, the overall experience was underwhelming, and I wouldn't consider ordering from Rice K again. Check pic for "pan fried noodles"

It is one of the most disappointing Asian Fusion restaurants I have ever eaten at in a long time. We went to Rice K because of its reputed reputation for serving a mixture of Asian cuisines from Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and Malaysian dishes. What we got back was an inaccurate order and poor service. As we entered at 2,45 on an early September day in 2023 We were immediately confronted by a waitress who was adamant that they had to close by 3.30 p.m. OK, we said we would dine in and take out anything we had not finished. I wanted to try Malaysian and my partner a Chinese dish. She ordered Peking Duck. And Orange Chicken. What she got back was a mango chicken. I wanted a Malasian recommendation. Instead, I got Thai pad Ch, which wasn't Malaysian. We also asked for ice water several times and continued to receive tap water. The waitress refused to listen to us (either- a language problem or something else) as we repeated asking her three times. NOTE: if the manager is reading this, please see a photo of the check with the time and date We will not be back.

It's a nice, comfy spot with a lounge like atmosphere. The happy hour deals are great and my daughter really enjoyed the udon noodle. The staff is pleasant and patient. We will be coming back.

Rice K is an Asian fusion type restaurant, serving sushi and Chinese dishes. The restaurant has a full bar. The atmosphere is casual. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant had one person at the front and the server doubled as the bartender. The server apologized for the slow service because they are unable to find staff. I have been here a few times and the food is uneven. The previous time the food was great. Today the food was average. The fish was dry. It appears the fish was in the fridge a bit too long. They have karaoke on the weekend. It's the third time I've been here so I guess I'll be back

Great sushi restaurant in Astoria with a great variety of items on their menu. I was here recently for a late lunch on a Saturday while waiting for my friend. There were a few other people in the restaurant. I ordered gyoza and two sushi rolls (too much for one person, oops) and enjoyed it all. The fish was fresh and the gyoza was crispy and tasty. Food came out pretty quickly too. Taste | 4.5 Atmosphere | 4 Presentation | 3.5 Service | 4 OVERALL | 4.5

I've ordered here a couple times for sushi. I was skeptical because they seem to serve all Asian cuisines without specializing in one area. Surprisingly, I think the have one of the better sushi in the area. I know Watawa and Sakura are more popular but I'm obsessed with this place's sundried tomato and avocado roll. It's salty and pairs perfectly with some spicy mayo. I also think they do a great job with their crunchy spicy crab roll. Shrimp tempura is pretty standard. I don't recommend ordering 2 rolls of it though because I feel like you only get maybe a roll and 2 extra pieces worth. The lunch special only comes with a soup OR salad and honestly for $13.50 it should come with both. The other sushi places in the area offer both for around the same price or less. I also tried their crab rangoon/cheese wanton which were delicious! I ordered through seamless and didn't see an option to add spicy mayo so I wrote it in the notes. They ended up adjusting the price on my order without calling me first. When I did call, they told me it cost $1.25 which I think is ridiculous for a small container of spicy mayo. I had to go through a whole process of cancelling my order and reordering because they couldn't change it back. That was a little frustrating but they were kind enough to throw in the spicy mayo on the house!

Used to be my favorite place to order takeout from. Boneless spareribs were great and not swimming in half a container of oil. General T chicken was some of the best....but Each time the food has gotten worse, I say to myself..."just an off order and it's covid" but it gets worse and worse. The wontons I just received are undercooked and the actual noodle is hard. I also feel like they blatantly ignore notes on the order. Ask for something well done like spare ribs and they come even more minimally cooked than if you didn't ask for something well done (just small example) Hope they turn it around, but going to look elsewhere for Chinese food from here on out.

The gyuma was okay, but nothing special. The Chong Ching was also disappointing, and the portion size seemed smaller than before. The customer service wasn't great either, no one checked on us during the meal, and our water wasn't refilled unless we asked. Overall, the experience just didn't live up to how it used to be.

Look out Katz's! I was looking for it up on the menu board, but all I saw was pastrami baos & pastrami rice box. I asked if it was still available and my man hooked me up by popping 2 thick slices of whole grain bread into the toaster and started to hand carve a big hunk of pastrami. I thought I was getting about half of what he pulled out, but he proceeded to pile it all on the bread after squirting on a slew of grainy deli mustard. He apologized for running out of pickles, but all I could think was "Take my money and gimme my sammich!" Even as I cradled the closed plastic container, the smell of hot pastrami permeated my whole bus ride home and I couldn't wait to dig into that salty, peppery crusted, fall apart tender meat sandwich. I'm sure the other people on the bus were jealous. Next time I might even try out some of the other rice & noodle dishes, but that smoky pastrami smell still lingers on in my mind.

Still a good deal, but no longer the best bang for your buck any more. Probably why I don't visit as often nowadays. With that said, the quality is similar. Food is served on steamed trays, so you pick your choices over rice. Most of the flavors are still quite amazing, though some food lose their crispiness or a bit lukewarm sitting there. Regardless, always a good. On the negative side, the lady server is literally counting how many little shrimps are in my dish from one of my choices. It felt very odd when she took a shrimp off my plate and put it back into the tray. I asked if I could get a couple more calamari pieces and she said that she would have to remove more shrimp to do so. This was not how they use to operate, but I guess times are tough. On the other hand, I was given a lot more of the string beans with chicken liver, which makes sense since it's a cheaper protein. Btw, the fish is yummy, but you only get about 3-4 pieces. Therefore, I think you should order that item separately and not on rice if you want a decent portion. Bottom line, Khao Kang is no longer where I will go for a delicious cheap meal on regular basis. However, it is still a wonderful quick sit down or grab-n-go spot for some of the most authentic tasting Thai food in NYC for a reasonable price.
