Fantastic food. i have been going there twice a week since the first day they opened!!!!

Went on a girls night and was VERY impressed with sushi quality. The vein was removed and showed they took care in prepping the sushi shrimp which I appreciate in a sushi place. Although, the service was slow, and the waiter took the menu from my hand right after ordering my second roll after I told him I wanted to keep it in case there was another roll I wanted to order. Definitely irritated me because thats what you there for.. to order food!! Other than that, would highly recommend! read more

Ate at rice many times, never been disappointed. The environment of the restaurant is nice and kind of relaxing and is always kept very clean. There is plenty of parking available as well. The staff is always very friendly and attentive as well. We've been for both lunch and dinner at all different times and we've always consistently enjoyed the food. Pad Thai chicken, beef or chicken lo Mien, fried pork Gyoza,miso soup, and spring rolls were our favorites and they never disappoint. They have a nice selection of sushi options as well and it's always good and fresh. Anytime we have family visit from out of town we make a point to take them here. I would defiantly say this is best Chinese/Japanese and sushi in Dover, especially for the price. I would always recommend rice to anyone. read more

vegetables, brown rice, a speck of sushi. a good friend came up on christmas day and rice was open. now he knows his asian food (and asian dudes but thats a whole different story). we went with a certain level of skepticism seeing as dover delaware isn't exactly the hub of asian cuisine but man were we in for a treat. my food was awesome, and he totally killed the general chicken and an order of pork something or other. i live in north de but work in lower slower so rice is on my way home from work. i see myself as a regular here. no questions about it.... read more

food was great, along with the service... the honey walnut chicken is amazing but it isn't on the menu so you'll have to ask for it.

Surprisingly good - got takeout - 2 rolls & edamame was ~14 dollars. The edamame was 4 dollars tho and really small! So overall really good value on the rolls but not the edamame. The tuna was super dark - it's been awhile since I have good tuna sushi like that. My only complaint besides the expensive edamame is the soy sauce. If you're gonna be making good sushi, what's the point of cutting corners on the soy sauce? Cheap soy sauce can really ruin good sushi so I opted to eat most of it with no sauce. Just a tip! Will definitely be returning, maybe even dine-in... Seemed pretty nice in there ! read more

Good place, bad name. The worst thing at rice is the rice. Always tastes like it has been in a rice cooker for half the day.

Rice is very limited in their dishes and selections. There were about 4 appetizers to choose from and they were very bland. I ordered the chicken with broccoli and found a hair in my dish. Also when the server was on their way with our dish the knife on the dish fell off and landed on the floor. The waiter then put the same knife back on the plate and was going to serve it until I told him I wanted a new knife. The deal breaker was at the end of the meal when I had to ask for a fortune cookie for my son and the waitress obliged. Will not be returning and will be telling others to do the same. I do wish that there were more authentic restaurants and less chains in Kent County. read more

My husband and I have eaten here about once a week for the past year. It was a real surprise to find such nice sushi in a strip mall. We have not eaten the Chinese food, instead we have explored our way around the Japanese and Thai food. The menu is extensive and they will prepare variations if you ask. I had heard about the place but being new to the area was having a hard time finding it however, with that said we did and loved it. Yes it is small, but I found the food to be very tasteful and I enjoy all the types of sushi and rolls they offer as well as the meals. My family has eaten here off and on for a couple years now, but usually via take out. I had some friends visit from out of town that wanted to try something that wasn't a chain. We went to Rice to talk and catch up. The food was great as expected but this was the first time I've ever experienced rude behavior like this. The server was a kind young lady that was quick to ask if we needed anything. That started to become obsessive after our food was consumed and we were just talking. We didn't ask for a lot of refills or special orders or anything like that. There weren't but a few people in the restaurant dining while we were there and it didn't close for another couple hours so we took our time talking. But the server kept coming back asking would there be anything else. Then a gentlemen came and did the same thing. We had already paid our tab and was just talking. This went on for 30 minutes. We looked up to see the staff in the corner watching us and pointing when we took the hint that we'd overstayed our welcome. As we started to walk out a gentleman rushed to the table and started say "$8 $8!" We looked at them and each other trying to figure what was going on. We didn't understand what was being said afterwards but we knew we had already paid the bill. My friend asked her husband did he tip and how much. He said maybe he should give them some more. He had already tipped 20%. So he ran to the car to get more cash and went back in and gave more. We were astonished by the behavior that night. read more

Ok, As far as aesthetics this place looks great, other than that it is tiny, it really looks like a good place to eat. It looks like a place that you would find in LA, an upper class type of feel to it. The food that they served also LOOKED good and appetizing. They are pricy, and so i figured the quality of the food is good. It was, the chicken was actually chicken and not some special meat. AS FAR AS TASTE GOES, i have never eaten such disgusting chicken Terryaki, it was tasteless and literally made me gag, im not saying like it didnt taste good so i gagged, i litterally felt like throwing up big time. The salad they served me was 1 cucumber, and lettuce, THAT IS IT. I payed 12 dollars for this. Overall the place looks way better than the food actually taste, i would have been better off getting 2 double cheesburgers from Mcdonalds, atleast i would have saved some of my Pepto Bismol. read more
