This campground is great, the sites are large and the camp workers are amazing. Close to the cities, yet very quiet!

Bunker Hills Campground - This silly grasshopper (or so it seemed) found it's way into our trailer, our tent, our campsite, the shower, the restroom..

This campground is 5 stars all around and we will definitely return…read more There are no sewer hook ups so you kind of have to use their restrooms/showers unless you drive to the dump station if you are staying for a week.. thus, the drop in a star (to be mentioned below) The GOOD: Pretty much everything! Lots of shade, big sites, signs everywhere to find your way, TONS of trails, dog friendly, friendly staff.. Bunker beach is walking distance, the activity/event center is gorgeous. There are stables at the regional park as well as the stunning golf course that we did not use. Just absolutely beautiful grounds. Bring a bike or take some long hikes. Maps are well marked and so much to see! Our California campgrounds are not this green and lush or have sites so spacious so we LOVED that! The BAD: Spiders (Daddy long legs) everywhere.. we sprayed eco friendly bug spray each day around the picnic table, tent and trailer and helped a bit.. but after 3 spiders on the window curtain next to my bed in he RV and a big old spider ON my bed.. I had a big more compassion for my boys in the tent with too many of them to count on top of the tent. Bathrooms - need to be cleaned as the sinks were pretty gross on most occasions. The water in the shower? I froze for all 3 showers and there is no way to control the hot/cold, no water pressure (which is kind of common at campgrounds) but not even a spray.. just a slow trickle/stream from the shower except in the family bathroom, a faint spray (also cold). Oddly, my boys showered once in the men's showers and said it was too hot, they had to get out. The showers were also unpleasant with spiders everywhere, moths flying at you from every direction. There were grasshoppers in abundance as well, but the moths were pretty disgusting. The GOOD FAR FAR outweigh the BAD and definitely recommend a stay here. It IS camping so just expect a lot of bugs around and you won't be disappointed!

Others just seemed to want to party and take over our space! Way too many people come within feet of your camper, so no privacy at all! The owners seem to try and keep things pretty clean, but since it is so busy, it just doesnt work very well. There are no paved roads so everything is dusty or muddy!

Stayed here for a week Aug of 2014. some downsides, but lots of upsides. We will be coming back…read morenext yr for sure! Downsides ... One barking dog (a permanent camper) , slimy swimming area, had to share fire pit with strangers (site next to ours), the outdoor game room is run down and useless because the fooseball table is broken, ping pong table has no net but yet still talked about on the website as if you could play with them. Both game tables where on top of the shuffle board area so you couldn't play on it. No log roller in the lake either like it shows on website. Upsides.. love the People!! from the owners and the staff to the other campers. Great camp store, my kiddos fished off the dock for hours all week! Kids enjoyed feeding the animals, the bikes to rent, great playgrounds, the one by the office was my kids favorite. They where never board. Not to busy during the week but weekends are very busy. The rentals are affordable but be sure to find out ahead of time to know when you can rent. All in all it's a nice campground close to home. Hopefully they can update their website to show current activities that they really do offer. Tips; bring beach toys and water toys to keep kiddos busy longer at the lake. Bring fishing gear for kiddos too or even corn to watch the fishes come to eat it.
